I had the pleasure of using the The Furniture Shop for a small antique coffee table I recently…read moreinherited, which is very sentimental to me. My plan was to use this coffee table as a bench at the end of the bed, however it was very wobbly, not sturdy enough to be sat on, and had at least a 5" crack in the middle of one of the legs. I contacted Jim via email and sent pictures, to which he replied to promptly and provided a rough estimate.... so I made an appointment to bring it in. Jim is both a gentleman, who was a pleasure to deal with, and an expert craftsman, who has 28 years experience in both furniture repair and upholstery. He knows his stuff! His shop was absolutely immaculate and he was both kind and easy to talk to. Top notch customer service :) 4 days later my table was ready! Apparently, it required pretty much an entire deconstruct of the second shelf and all the legs, regluing and reinforcing all interior dowels and then reassembly. The cracked table leg? I couldn't even notice it was repaired! I'm thrilled to have my treasured sentimental table back with the ability to use it in more functional manner as a bench for the end of the bed! I would absolutely recommend Jim to anyone who needs furniture repaired. Overall it was a top notch experience in every way.

AFS gave them new life and they are now sturdier than when they were new. Also they were very good to deal with. Both the pickup and the drop-off of the drawers went very smoothly. I was given a 3-hour window for both, and the pro arrived well within the first 30 minutes for the pickup, and right on the stroke of the first hour for the delivery. I would definitely use these guys again and would recommend them to others.

We had used Dave before a few years ago, and he did a great job. Last year I bought a new rocker /…read moreglider, and after a short time it was apparent that something was rubbing, so I called Dave. He located the problem and performed the repair in a little over a day--nice! So my wife decided to have Dave try his hand at a chair which we had had someone else work on, but the repair didn't turn out very well. Dave took the chair, found the job a little beyond his competence, but fortunately had an upholsterer whom he worked with take care of it and returned the chair within a week, good as new. Now my wife can use it for embroidering again; it was her favorite chair. Dave is a very nice fellow, reasonable--his prices are very reasonable--, he picks up and delivers, and, most importantly, he does excellent work. I'm sure we'll be calling him again when there is need. You would be well advised to check Dave out for furniture repair and restoration. You'll be very pleased with his work!
