Here we go; Someone recommended this restaurant because it was in the area of work in Central Islip. So I decided to visit the restaurant. It was very clean. Customer service was great. However, the food was not good at all. Let just say my stomach wasn't happy at all. I'm not sure if I will be visiting this restaurant again.

This establishment has been in the neighborhood for a while and have never tried it. Needless to say it's a gem. Food tastes so good! I had the Rasta pasta with chicken. It was so so good and flavorful. The portions were great and I even had leftovers. We got two large dinners which were beyond huge of the jerk chicken and stew chicken. A great deal where you can get two meals out of one. Service was nice and woman working there were polite. I will definitely be going back!!

Overall I had a great dining experience at Nyam Sum! I ordered the oxtail, cabbage, rice and beans. The food was hot and fresh, plus the young ladies working were very pleasant. Their menu has quite a variety. I think this restaurant is a hidden gem that will become a favorite to many!!!! I will certainly be back to support this minority owned establishment!

Not sure why it is showing less but this place deserves no less than 5 stars. My Jamaican family tried this place out before I did. We were so sick of the Jamaican restaurant a couple of miles away on 111, so I couldn't wait to try what Nyam Sum had to offer. First off, the name of the restaurant is amazing. All my family and friends loves it. They really put themself at a great location on Suffolk Avenue, and having themselves in a "strip" mall with foot walkers, too. Their sign is big enough so people can see from the road, and it's right across the street from neighborhoods. So my boyfriend and I finally checked out this place. He's never had Jamaican food - so I thought we'd try it. The man that was helping us, one of the owners - his name was Kirk. He was the nicest man, greeting us when we walked in, extremely friendly, and very welcoming. It threw me back because you don't usually get such great welcoming like that in any restaurant. He was patient while decided what we wanted. My boyfriend was able to look off the menu because it was easier for someone who has never ate Jamaican food. Their menu has a WIDE variety of choices, it's actually shocking. He ended up getting the Jerk chicken, he doesn't like spice, but Kirk said he'd be okay and I was told by my bf that the "spice quality" was just right enough and delicious. And I got the Curry Goat which tasted phenomenal (and WASN'T full of bone like I normally get at the other place). Also, got the bun and cheese which was on point. The plantins were delicious along with the cabbage, which was seasoned and perfectly made - like I've never had them before. They do take card as well in case you Yelpers were wondering. I'll be spreading word around about this place - They set a great first impression to us. Not only do I recommend this restaurant because the service and the food is great. But I will 100% support anyone in business who put their life on the line and served for this country - that to me deserves more than the 5 stars I can provide.

The food was phenomenal and the portion size was extremely generous! I highly recommend the Veg Chunks if you're vegetarian.

My first time ordering here I was greeted by two nice ladies. My husband and I wanted to try two different entrees to support this Black owned Business and they did not disappoint. First I'd like to say both dishes were seasoned perfectly and tasted delicious. As for the meat on both of our dishes tender just the way I Iike my Oxtails and also my Goat. Rice and Peas delicious as well . Portion are fine prices are fair. I will be going back again. They will get 5 stars after I've tried everything.

Absolutely delicious! The jerk chicken was so good and not too spicy. The brown stew chicken---so yummy and so good. The cabbage and sweet plantains were on point. My kids and I absolutely love it and will definitely be returning.. We highly recommend!

If you haven't been to Rumba yet, put it on your list of places to go on Long Island. The shrimp appetizer is absolutely the best anywhere, cooked perfectly and topped with the sauce combination that is almost magical!

Rhum to Rumba…read more... It's clearly been a while since I've been here, although the outside and the inside still look familiar, something about the overall feel felt different. For drinks, I was thinking about ordering a margarita, but our server mentioned the mojito specials. I quickly switched up and ordered the coconut mojito. My husband tried the mango passion fruit mojito, but it was extremely sour and had to be sent back. Unfortunately, the second drink he ordered also wasn't to his liking. I ordered the coconut mojito, the drink itself was good, but between the narrow glass and all the ice, it disappeared pretty quickly, which felt different from past experiences. Now Let's talk Dominican Ribs ... OMG...the thing that hooked me here the first time... The flavor was spot on, clearly that recipe has not changed. They fall off the bone, tender with that sticky sweet lick your fingers kind of special but they too were a little different. A little dainty. I just found my picture from 2019 and did a side-by-side. We also ordered the chicken wings and they to me didn't have a special feel. They were reminiscing of the ones I grab at Costco for my family barbecue. Good but didn't have that Caribbean inspired taste and they were not so, fall off the bone.

YO! TtI had to come on here and say this loud--Mo's Goat is G.O.A.T.!…read more I'm talking real island flavor... seasoned all the way through, tender, juicy, and cooked with intention. From the first bite, you already know--this ain't regular. This is that "close your eyes and nod your head" type of food. The spices? Perfectly balanced. You taste the culture. You taste the love. And that gravy?? Don't even get me started... you better have your rice ready because it's going DOWN. What I respect the most is the consistency. Every time--it hits. No shortcuts, no watered-down flavor. Just straight-up authentic, soulful cooking. If you haven't tried Mo's Goat yet, you're missing out heavy. This ain't hype... this is certified. Mo's Goat really is G.O.A.T.--Greatest Of All Time.
