I can't say I'm going to write an exciting review here about some standalone coffee shop filled with amazing handcrafted drinks and fantastic service with a glorious ambiance, but I will try to make this review of Starbucks halfway decent. I mean I would put this Islandia location towards the top of the list of Starbucks that I've frequented. It's definitely better than my old New Hyde Park location that I would frequent and I'd put it up there with the Medford spot that always seemed pretty "with it." They deserve some credit in Islandia just because they have a drive-thru (which the other two just mentioned don't have) and they never seem to be massively backed up on their drink orders. That's probably my biggest gripe with any Starbucks is the slowness/hectic nature of the way they make drinks. Sometimes it just feels like they've forgotten about my often-simple-to-create coffee (vanilla sweet cream cold brew is the usual order) as I watch other concoctions get mixed and names get called out. Though at this Starbucks? I've never waited more than a few minutes tops for my drink/drinks to be ready. Plus I'll say that the vibe in here feels friendly. The baristas usually seem to be playing some lively music and will occasionally stop to ask your name and what drinks you're waiting for. And most importantly, the coffee they blend together tastes consistent and the way it should. Nobody is perfect and of course there are some days that this 'Bucks isn't hitting the way it usually does, but those days have been few and far between. Overall, this Starbucks spot doles out the drinks you expect from any of these Seattle-originated storefronts. It works well as a quick on-off-on location for those heading west on the LIE and you have a good chance of acquiring your drink quickly and with some decent service (oh and quality). So whether this review was exciting or not, at least you know about this Starbucks.

    Great cold brew

Love this Starbucks I come here everyday. Whenever I go to another one I'm disappointed!! This is how you make cold brew.

Finally this Starbucks made its way to Yelp! I've been here a couple of times and each time I've gone through drive through. Each time there may be one or two cars but the service is so efficient and quick that I forget I'm on line. This Starbucks although still pretty new is pretty awesome! The service is great and my bevy is always good. Whether it's a Hot Non fat Latte or an ice cold Green Tea Lemonade it's good. Islandia Starbucks welcome to the community! This Starbucks is also super hella convenient too. Easy in and easy out and back on to the LIE in a jiffy.

Here's the Scoop: The new Starbucks is across from BJs. The same spot Hooters use to be. The area is perfect because right next to the 495 entrance. Great for those needing a coffee to get through their long drive to work. The entrance is arranged using the small dining area excellently. They have a friendly warm inviting staff willing to help with any mixology you can come up with. Colors are relaxing and give you a whooza feeling. I got a signature drink and it was prepared to my specifications. I'm not a regular coffee drinker but I enjoyed a cold coffee drink. I understand why folk are so hooked on this coffee it's strong as heck even after you've put in you're this & that. So my fellow Yelpers who are Starbucks fans you got a new spot

The line at the drive through moved so quickly and the service was great.I had a prickly pear creme and omg it is now my fave next to a flat white! There is ample parking (used to be HOOTERS) and outside seating.

Service was good overall--friendly and attentive. We ordered the carrot cake French toast, and it was honestly delicious. It leaned more toward dessert than breakfast--very rich, sweet, and a huge portion. Definitely something you could share, because finishing it solo is no small task. Also tried the bangers omelette, which was a bit of a mixed experience. The omelette itself was excellent--plenty of sausage, and the caramelized onions with Irish cheddar were a great combination. Really flavorful and well done. Came with homemade rye, awesome. That said, I wasn't happy with the home fries. I had asked for them to be well done, but they came out undercooked anyway. I did mention it to the server but nothing came of it, which was a little disappointing. The home fries also included a mix of what looked like russet and sweet potatoes--I'm not a fan of sweet potatoes at all! I wish that had been noted on the menu. On a positive note, the fresh-squeezed strawberry lemon mimosa carafe was very good, and at $28 it felt like a fair price. Overall, a solid spot with some standout items, but a few small misses from my experience. I'd still come back, just with a better idea of what's on the menu.

The Cookie Dough pancakes..... that mix with syrup..... sweet and lovely. A nice breakfast dessert. I loved seeing the manager move around and asking if everything was on. The server gave a good recommendation. The executive chef came out and I bowed. He laughed and talked with me. I complimented the entire menu of options and my meal. The only thing and I'm still giving them 5 stars. There is a 3.5% charge if you use a credit card. I didn't know this until I received the receipt. I had cash but just note this. That describes the last time I was at Nappi's Nook, over two years ago. Flash forward to this morning and we're looking at an update that shows a much different experience this time around. You see that first time at Nappi's was not long after they had opened. Kinks were definitely still being worked out and at the time, I just couldn't see it as a place worth choosing over other breakfast spots. But seeing reviews, awards, and that the place was still standing years later led my wife and I to come check them out again. This second time around we snagged a table (they definitely get crowded quickly) and had some very friendly service from our waitress. Things started with their Nappicinos which were a huge misfire that first time, but a definite improvement today. My wife got the Biscoff variety while I got the Peanut butter cup and boy were they tasty. A good balance of coffee and sweet flavors. Now when it came to food, last time I went with chicken and waffles which (from pics) still seemed like something I might enjoy more elsewhere and so instead, I landed on The Stove Top Skillet. This was a combo of onions, peppers, potatoes, sausage, cheese, and over easy eggs. It came out piping hot and it was honestly impressive in how it tasted. I liked the thinly sliced sausage coins and although the pepper pieces were a little massive, they were soft enough with everything mixing together nicely. As for the wife, she went with a special in the form of the hash omelette which was exactly as it sounded with Swiss cheese and paprika hollandaise sauce on top along with breakfast potatoes on the side. I tried it and it was pretty tasty as well. One last item we chose to order was a single beignet for $2.50 as a side option. Sometimes we're just not feeling a full sweet breakfast, but this little fried ball filled with chocolate did the trick. Was it comparable to Cafe Du Monde? No way, but it was still quality. Honestly, the whole meal was quality and definitely several steps up from that first round a few years back. The only true gripe I can give is the soundtrack to Nappi's. The music, a touch louder than one might think at 9 in the morning, was a little too trance/dance/club for the vibe of breakfast. Maybe on a Sunday for a boozy brunch, but perhaps some music changes would create a little more of a "Nook" feel. Perhaps? Overall though, I'm really very impressed and glad to have given Nappi's Nook a second shot. It may have taken some time for that to happen, but it showed that this place was the real deal because it was still around, and winning Best of LI awards in the meantime. Perhaps a place to get to on the earlier side, but for sure a location I know I will be returning to for round three much sooner than expected.

I mean I've already been here at this aesthetically beachy location at least five times and at this point it's easy to see they are legit in their bowl making abilities (and then some!). Now what is a playa bowl? Well maybe you're more familiar with SoBol açaí bowls, a company that originated on Long Island and has a location all over the place at this point. I do love me some SoBol, but oh does Playa (a New Jersey originator) take the idea of açaí and blows it up! This is really seen across their massive menu with not just açaí and pitaya bowls available, but also mango, green, oatmeal, coconut, and banana bowl bases as options. Woah. My wife has already become a true fan of the mango bowls while for myself, I've also enjoyed those, but I truly love the banana bowl bases. Yum. Playa Bowls is more than just a bowl spot though as they also boast a nice list of smoothies that are just as legit. Case in point: the orange power smoothie (orange, vanilla protein, pineapple, coconut milk) is your summer time necessity. Fruity, creamy, and delicious. What's also pretty darn tasty is their Playa cold brew. Boasting chicory coffee concentrate (something you often only find in New Orleans), Playa Bowls brews up a formidable (and icy) cup of joe. Just as important to all of this is the friendly staff and reward system/app that is used here. Though a mostly younger group of employees, they seem to dole out your order at a reasonable speed and I've yet to have any issues when ordering through that aforementioned app. The app compiles rewards and also gives you special offers which just adds to the greatness of Playa. Overall, I'm sorry to say that as good as SoBol is, Playa is just a better. It's tough to beat so many bowl bases that are equally delicious and when you throw in the smoothies, coffee, and plenty of rewards via the app, I just need to get down on the ground and start bowing to the bowls. Playa bowls, that is. Now hopefully this one five star review will get the juices flowing for others to come and experience the tastiness found here in this Ronkonkoma spot.

My family and I spent several days trying to satisfy our craving for a good New York bagel and found our way to New York Bagel Company one morning. We ordered one sandwich with an everything bagel and the other sandwich on a garlic bagel. Unfortunately, both tasted extremely flavorless and the bagels themselves were an odd texture, almost as if they had been microwaved. My husband was so disappointed he went back to the cash register area to ask for a refund. Management stood by their product asserting that they did not put their sandwiches in the microwave. The manager remained extremely professional and offered a refund on the sandwiches. We were so surprised, but extremely grateful for the gesture.
