Two stars & thats because the place was clean and people were nice enough. This was probably the worst pedicure I've ever had (i can really only think of one other). I had hope bc on a Tuesday, there were seven other ladies around 5pm in pedi chairs, so I figured something must be good! I digress. I chose the NY Spa pedicure and was placed with Jack. From start to finish, it was about 25 mins. The features of a foot soak, scrub, lotion, hot rocks etx were insanely short (like 30 seconds each for each foot), meanwhile the whole visit I was gradually sliding down the chair due to the disposable plastic coverings that are over the seat from top to bottom. There are no dryers, so i sat in said pedi chair for an additional 10-15 mins for drying time. The entire experience was a disappointment, but in the end I thought, "well, at least my toes look nice and professionally painted!" color me so extra unhappy when I found the next day (I didn't run into anything, wear socks or shoes, zilch!), the polish was already chipping on the ends of the nails, particularly my big toe. By day 3, 1/2 of the polish came off of my second toe in a nice split. So overall, my feet were doubly sad at the price tag of $42.00 (35.00, plus tip). read more

PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK WHAT THEY CHARGE YOU BEFORE PAYING. I was just there yesterday and they overcharged me by $15. The basic pedi is $30 + $15 for gel totaling $45 and I was charged $50. In addition, I took my 10 year old for a pedi and they normally charge me $20 and this time I paid $30... I mean how much work can they do on a 10 yr old's feet...? The sad part is, I was there in February and was overcharged by $5 or $10, don't really remember the exact amount. But shame on me for returning and thinking that things will be different and to my surprise it was NOT. Best believe there is not going to be a third time, that's for sure. I came to this place for convenience since it's close to my house but having them scam you all time is unacceptable. I would much rather pay those extra five dollars in gas going to a different place in which they don't scam their customers, so please be aware. read more

Best pedicure ever! I was hesitant as the first few reviews were not the best. I don't know what happened but honestly this was the best pedicure ever!!!! We came here because Walmart spa closed and my daughter for some reason always liked the place. Well, not anymore. NY nails took us late in the evening g. They went out of their way for my 7 year old daughter like no one before ( even in best spas in South Tampa). My daughter unfortunately suffers with ingrown nails so when I mentioned it, the main lady actually treated the issue personally. Once we left, my daughter said that all the other places just do their job and they are good, but these people actually took care of her. Hear it from a 7 year old! It's true. Also, clean, modern, and new massaging chairs that are the best! We will be back!!!! read more

This nail salon is located in a brand new you shopping plaza. This new location has beautiful decorations and displays. They do nail, eyebrows and other things. I been here multiple times and had a pedicure done and my eyebrows. The pedicure has multiple upgrades but I chose the basic one. They place a cover over the water sink and add lemons!. I thought that was cool. The message chair is brand new and you can watch tv. They have Netflix on while I got my pedicure. The selection of nail colors are great. If you are looking for that shade of pink, this is the place. The service was good, no small talk. I prefer this because I like to relax while I get my toes done. When you get your eyebrows, it's done at separate room. It's very nice. They did a great job both times I gone. This place is at a great location. read more

Work is mediocre and depending on who you get will determine how much you pay. $50 for fills and gel color or a basic pedicure is ridiculous. The best work I have had there was when I was charged correctly!!! The fills cost more than a new set and no matter what you get, $50 seems to be the going price. I will not be going back again. I tried to let them redeem themselves and paid $35 for fills only to come back a week later and pay $50 for their listed $35 pedicure with gel. No way gel cost $15. The last pedicure I got the exact same service for $35. This time it was a new person who didn't know the difference between the gel bottle and the regular polish bottle. Do NOT go here unless you have money to throw away on mediocre service with Hollywood prices. You have been warned. read more

I've been to NY Nails a couple of times in the past when it opened and easily became a regular! It's super close to home and the staff have treated me very well. I've had a couple of issues with other salons in the past and this one has yet to fail me! One thing for certain is that I've never lost a nail of theirs; they are strong and can handle the tough cleaning jobs my hands go through, so I truly appreciate the quality of work they do to the acrylics. Alina and Cindy have been working with my nails as of late and they truly work wonders for me. Out of a shy curiosity I also tried the eyebrow waxing last visit and it was quick and awesome. Alina knew right away to keep my brows in the middle ground due to how thick they originally are. I have been here at least 10 times and had a great experience each time. I don't get the bad reviews. If there is something you don't like, have them fix it. Cindy, Alina and Mali have all done my nails and they are all great. They each have areas that they specialize in. Alina is the queen of 3D nails and glitter design. Mali also loves to do the stones and cute designs. Cindy does it all, except 3D. She is your girl for the hand drawn art. The salon is clean, the people are nice and the location is convenient. This nail salon is absolutely horrible. One day I came in to get a pedicure and it wasn't much customers so I expected to be in and out. Unfortunately, they made me wait 30+ minutes to get into a chair and once I got into the chair, they put me in cold water and then I sat in the cold water for 20 to 25 minutes and I also let one of the people know that the water was cold, and if they can crank it up, she acted like she didn't understand what I was saying so I let it go and I just sat there another 20 to 25 minutes past my feet were still not getting done and the shop was starting to get a little bit crowded and I literally was there all in all, maybe for a hour plus just to get my eyebrows and a pedicure and mind you I didn't even get a pedicure end up leaving. Don't recommend anyone going to this place and they never stick with their prices. Every time I go back and try them again it's always a new price for the same services. read more

This is a new salon in Gibsonton right across from our local Walmart, I been here 3 times. They are so expensive and they overcharge you every chance they get!! The first time I came a man did my nails, it was very pricey and just ok but since it was so close to my house I gave it another try. The 2nd time a lady name Jen did my nails and it was pink and white like her which was Hollywood prices $38.00 gel just ridiculous! But she said next time will only be 18.00 for a fill in so I said ok and I liked the natural look so I went back to her a third time, I told her I just want a fill no gel since gel only benefits them in the fast drying process, no difference in looks to me so she said $20.00 so I said I thought you said 18, so she goes on to say no pink and white 20, so I said whatever, she had an attitude the whole time she did my nails so another girl came in beside me and asked the man if he could shape hers like mine, he said yes for extra $5 they penny pinch on customers every way they could, 5 for a shape! Isn't that included? LOL I am done coming here and I would not recommend anyone go, if you go you will receive mediocre work for Hollywood prices! You've been warned! read more

Really unhappy with my experience here. I made an appointment the day before I came for a soak off and full set as well as a pedicure with Mali. When I got there they set me up to get a pedicure, Mali was finishing up a clients nails so she had someone else start on my pedicure then came and finished it up. I got my nails done as well but shortly after I sat down to get my nails started her next client came in. She kind of rushed through my nails and when I got home I noticed there were ripples in my nails and the top coat on the tip of my nails had already started to chip. I came in the next morning and showed her what happened. She asked me to come back at 12:30 I came back a little early to make sure I was there on time. Once I sat down in her chair I showed her what was happening with my nails and she proceeded to say that she didn't feel the ripples in my nails and all she could do is put a gel topcoat on. I asked her if she could do a polish change because I didn't think the topcoat would solve the issue of the ripples in my nails. She said no the only thing she could do was put a topcoat on. I offered to pay for a polish change and she still told me no she could only do a topcoat that she didn't have time to do a polish change. As she put the topcoat on the phone rang. She answered it and scheduled a nail appointment at 1:30 with someone else after I just asked her if she had time that day to do a polish change. She was not willing to make it right after I had spent so much money with her and generously tipped her. Really unfortunate. I'm very displeased with how my nails came out and will never go back. read more

This is a brand new salon, my first time was amazing but super pricey. The second time I went in and they did the exact same thing dip and pedicure. I showed them a picture of balayage nails, the older lady said yes I can do it. I left with white nails, not balayage at all. My nails were bumpy and uneven.
