From out of town and joined a friend for a pedi. The chair massage is always great but having the person doing your toes listen to your concern amazing. I've had found my nail had grown into my skin 3 weeks ago and cut it down. When I told Ryan about it he looked at it and realized I hadn't cut it properly. I had a finger nail ripped right out a few weeks ago and have a little nub but he still treated it like a nail with the oils and lotion. It was a very pleasant trip to the salon. Get a pedicure from Ryan and you won't regret it. Sad I'm not from the area. read more

I had call, day of - to set up an appt. Called around 9/10am for a 5pm gel pedicure. Came at 5pm and didn't get started on til 530pm. Sat there, twiddling my fingers. Needless to say. They overbooked w/ additional walk ins & not enough staff. Andrea was pleasant, to say the least. Some of my toes are painted on, perfectly. The others..I have some missing spots. For example - they do 3 layers..some toes look like there were1 or 2 layers. With the cuticles, she was cut & dry. Seemed like she was mentally done w/ the day & didn't bother. read more

I should have not paid . But this was the worst manicure I've ever had ( If you could call it that )in my life she cut my nails too short. She never did any cuticle Care. She did not file the jagged edges. I had real long nails and I thought she was going to trim them and then file but she just cut them so short that they're painful. She did ask if I wanted polish and I said no because my nails were too stubby looking . She put a dab of lotion on my hand and rubbed it in, and I guess that was supposed to be the massage on top of that was charged $30. She was rushed , one of the other woman told her to take care of me, but I don't think she wanted or she had an appointment waiting. I don't think I was there 10 minutes. I don't recommend. I don't believe the five start . My friend said they pressured her to leave a five star review and stood there while she did it. I am so happy with my experience at VIP Nails. I had long acrylic nails and many were lifting. They saw bubbles and problems; so, she removed all my acrylics and tips today. She applied a thicker clear gel overlay on my natural nail. After shaping them up, she put the gel color coat. I went with funny bunny since I like that on short nails. I wanted to love this place but it's just not great. Upon arriving, it's located in a small plaza. The parking lot was nearly full and there were not any spaces available near the business - this was on a Friday after normal business hours. My guest asked to see the gel color choices and was presented with one book showing limited options. She later found out after she selected colors from the only book presented to her, there were other books to choose from. It also is worth mentioning when I asked about credit card when booking the appointment I was told they take credit cards and accept tipping on the card. It wasn't until my service was already underway I asked about it again and was advised they don't accept American Express - only Visa or Mastercard. I told the girl doing my pedicure I wanted the regular pedicure and regular polish. During the service she told me I needed to upgrade to a pricier pedicure because I had calluses, yet the initial pedicure I selected stated it included callus removal. She continued to try to upsell me on gel polish and when I said I didn't want it, she told me it would be $5 additional because I had gel on previously and I would need to pay for the gel removal because I wasn't getting gel this time. For my manicure, I showed a picture of what I wanted, however what I ended up with does not closely resemble the picture. I wish they would say they couldn't pull off a design rather than saying yes and it turns out looking totally different. Oh and as mentioned in another review, they charge full prices for children. read more

I wanted my nails done for an event this weekend, being rather new to Apollo Beach I found VIP Nails when I googled places in my area. I wish I read more reviews before I went! Paid over $60 for a full set, showed the technician a photo of what I wanted (it was a photo of work that was supposedly done previously at their studio). My nails do not look even close to the photo, they're extremely thick, the acrylic has ridges and dips in it, he never paid any attention to my cuticles (not trimmed or cleaned up), and not even 24hrs later 3 of the nails are lifting. Will not be returning - waste of $ and time. read more

The nail tech was extremely friendly, but the gel top coat appears extremely lumpy and ridged. I'm unsure if this is related to the product or the application. One of the nails has already chipped because only two coats were applied. I moved to this area and decided to try this place (I used to do my nails in Tampa for years but didn't felt like driving too far) anyway ...Stay away from this place if you care about your nails, Angle did my nails she didn't even talk or looked at me, she was on some video call while cutting my nails too short, she got me cut none stop using high level machine that she wasn't supposed to use in my skin!!!! She left acrylic all over my fingers and around my nails, my nails look not straight, it took her almost 2 hours! In that amount of time I'm off the nails salon with manicure pedicure tip too. (plus she broke 2 of my natural nails) I asked her to fix the nails that look too thick after she apply acrylic and have my nails in coffin shape since they looked more square and not even. eventually she wanted me to go without paying. It's never happened to me before! You need to listen to customer and not to get mad because you don't know what you doing!!! Oh and also o asked her who did this nice nails they showing her on the pictures (long coffin designs) because it seems nothing like what my nails looks like...one girl said Angle did it, and Angle said that girl is off today lol...so funny because you took it from the internet. Love their work and their friendliness HOWEVER that is over-shadowed by the NON-relaxing atmosphere every time I come here. Clients kids who are so disruptive and parents who don't parent. Salon mgr says something to these clients and nothing changes.
