Don't waste your time! This place will try to scam you. I only go when my regular nail technician is on vacation. I went in yesterday and just need fast service. I paid $23 for my toes and the nail technician was mad that I didn't get a bigger package. I explained I was in a rush and needed a fast color change and cut. Then she handed me off to Diego to do my nails. I told him I wanted what was $30. I didn't want to spend a lot of money so I can go to my regular nail technician. When I proceeded to pay, he said it's $50 for your nails. I got so mad and I said I wanted whatever was $30. I told you and I told her. He said she didn't know and you liked what I did. I said it's beside the point. His manager came and I told him to go away because he didn't even know what was going on. I don't like to be ripped of. I don't mind paying for a service but when I specially say what I'm willing to pay they need to honor that and not up-sale. I will never go back. Plus my nails look all jersey and he cut my finger with the buffering tools. So I went home to dip it in alcohol so I wouldn't get an infection. Do yourself a favor and run away. read more

I decided to visit this salon today on a whim because it was relatively close to my neighborhood and appeared to have reasonable pricing based on what I saw on yelp. I did not have an appointment but called ahead and was seen about 10 minutes after I arrived to the salon. They have a huge selection of nail polish colors so the wait time passed quickly while I decided on my polish color. The staff was very friendly. I am disappointed that I did not catch the gentleman's name who did my nails because he was wonderful. I didn't see their menu before I started because I knew exactly what I wanted and the breakdown of what I was going to pay was explained to me before we began (remove my old set $5 and get a new set $40). The atmosphere was friendly and the venue was clean. There were a lot of walk in customers that came in after me (I arrived at 6:30) so I am thankful I called ahead. I appreciate that they are open until 8. The only reason this is not a 5 Star review is after I got home and admired/inspected my nails further, I realized that one of them was a little crooked. My first few times getting my nails done and the last few fills I got I was very happy. The most recent set I got looked great on my right hand, however my left middle finger was crooked and my left thumb was weirdly shaped, but it wasn't the absolute worst. I broke my left pinky nail the next day and went in today to get it fixed. I am so upset. It looks terrible!!! It's somewhat angled up on my pinky and not flat on top like a coffin nail should be and is much shorter than my right pinky!! It looks so out of proportion with the rest of my nails on my left hand. I was so happy with my last few visits and after today I will not be returning :-( read more

Tried the dip powder today in SM7 color. First time getting the dip. I usually go for regular manicure on my real nails. Today I had the dip powder on real nails. You can add tips if you want to add length. Water, sodas, margaritas and wine are complimentary during your visit. Quite a few staff on hard so busy time didn't have long wait. Tammy took her time with my service and performed beautifully! Tools are freshly cleaned each service/customer. Staff makes small talk and remembers their customers! 10 pedicure spa chairs available. Thea is great- she did my mani pedi last time. Overall they offer multiple "fake" nail colors/products and regular and gel colors. Waxing is offered but haven't tried it yet. Came here to get a full set of acrylics with shellac this time and it wasn't as good as my first time coming here. The guy started off doing the usual process but I had noticed he didn't ask me to wash my hands like they usually do right before they start applying the acrylic even though there was specs of the previous acrylic I had done all over my hands. For some reason my hands had started to burn and I told him and he didn't let me wash my hands immediately he kept doing them. After telling him 3 times they were burning bad he told me to wash them. It helped some but they don't stop burning completely until the next day. He said it had to be the primer that was making my hands burn yet the previous time I had came here I did not have that problem and I have never had that problem at any nail salon. Another thing that made this review go to one star is that my nails were horribly shaped. I always get the coffin shape, my personal favorite but this time my nails came out all different lengths and shapes. It's hard to get it in pictures on how badly shaped they are but the thumb and pointer fingers are significantly shorter than the rest. And also the nails weren't evenly filed! Some are crooked! They are quick workers, prioritize comfort, and take well to feedback (are happy to redo something if you aren't happy with it). Lots of repeat customers, massage chairs, and complementary wine. I was a little hesitant to try this place due to some negative reviews. However, its location won me over--just down from the WalMart Neighborhood Market by MacArthur High School. I was greeted at the door by friendly staff and immediately taken to a pedicure chair. As this is (I believe) a new business, the chairs were new and the decor was clean and bright. I may have stacked the deck in my favor by informing the pedicurist that I was "auditioning" this business for my mom, who lived a few blocks away. He was extremely attentive and did exactly what I wanted--and took care to follow my instructions on what I did not want. The pedicure was very well done and relaxing, with a scrub, extensive lotion massage, and hot towels. Overall it took just over an hour and I was *very* pleased. When I'm back in town I will definitely come back here again. Note: I asked my pedicurist his name and he said he was Brian. Note 2: I came in the morning on a weekday, around 11 am, and they were not busy. Perhaps that's why I got the royal treatment. It was around 3 pm on a Saturday so I was expecting some sort of wait time but I was seated as soon as I walked in. I told the nail tech It was my first time there and he assured me that I was in good hands! I got an ombré look (full set). This is my third visit to NY Nails and I am happy to report I love it! I enjoy their Spa Pedicures. Prices are great. The best part is how obviously sanitary everything is. They use a disposable plastic liner in the pedicure tubs and their instruments are opened from a fresh packet in front of you. They not only made me feel like a million bucks .. I .e. Taking their time on my pedi.. Even with the special they had going on basic pedi for 23$ yes please.. She got up in those toes and made them pretty again. She massaged my piggies and now their ready for me to beat them until the polish chips off!! They offered refreshments right Away. And how many of us sit in the salon thinking dam I wish I had some h20 to sip on.. Don't need to with this salon. I got a basic pedicure, eyebrows and dip powder nails. The were nice and friendly but my nails didn't even make it a week. Two days after getting my nails, two of nails broke and the top clear coat started chipping and pretty much all the nails. I've done dip powder before and this hadn't happen. I pretty much lounge around the house so I know I didn't do anything for this to happen. The pedi was great and my eyebrows were nice.
