    Chicken and rice plate

I had a wonderful experience here with my sister! We were immediately offered a sample as it was our first time here and we were not disappointed! The staff were courteous and kind and the food came out quick and hot. I was stunned by how soft and flavorful the chicken was and its definitely made a regular out of me.

A must try if you're in the area!! NY Halal Food is a food court located in the BWI cell phone lot. I tried their mixed platter which has chicken and lamb in it! I thought the chicken and lamb were cooked really well and you could taste the slight char to it. I got the sauce on the side and they packaged it really well where it was wrapped up in tin foil to make sure it didn't spill. The service was relatively quick. I got my food after 10 minutes and there were a few other orders besides me who got their food quickly as well. If you have the chance to stop by, it's definitely a spot to try!

Very easy to find, just navigate to bwi cellphone lot. Parking is free for an hour! Be mindful that there are no tables or chairs, so you'd have to eat on your car, or on the grassy area. I ordered the chicken and lamb platter, and asked for no rice. My total came out to be $13.20 after tax. When I paid, they mentioned it came with a free drink, so I got myself water. When I finally got to my car, excited to indulge on this meal, I found I had nothing but rice under my meat. I explicitly asked for no rice. There was no miscommunication, because I asked what was in the plate (meat, rice, lettuce, sauce), and they confirmed they would do no rice. I didn't notice until I ate some meat, since they do pile on the meat and sauce! Since I needed other textures, I went back and informed them I asked for no rice, and only got rice. I simply wanted them to dump my meat onto a bed of lettuce. They argued saying that since I ate some, I would have had to buy a brand new one. After I repeated myself, saying I only wanted the lettuce that's supposed to come with it, they threw some on top and gave my food back to me. The lettuce added the extra crunch into the texture, and made the meal almost perfect. I would definitely return whenever I visit BWI, but would need to double check my order at the counter next time.

I'm usually a little more gentle with my reviews, but I'm stunned. I can't believe I went to the same place as everyone else. This place was not good! Most importantly, the cook/server was unsanitary. He had a glove on but he used the same gloved hand to receive money (mine and the people ahead of me) and to prepare my food. The service was lousy. Here's a petty issue: I asked for a 'yee-ro' (gyro) and the guy looked at me and asked "you want a jy-ro?" The food was just OK. Instead of pressed meet from the spindle or donner style, it was little cubes of lamb. And it was messily wrapped. I've had better gyro pretty much everywhere I've had a gyro including the fast food place that has the meats for sandwiches. I will never go back to this place.

Lamb platter - 8/10 Chicken platter - 7/10 Mixed platter - 8/10 Lamb platter is by far my favorite meal here! Im so glad they open late because sometime after a long day of work, you just need some halal food to loosen up! Don't sleep on the red sauce, get it on the side! It adds a good kick of flavor! The workers try to get the food out as fast as possible, sometimes the lines are long but it doesnt take long before you get your food! The cart got upgraded and the price has gone up in recent years. Pandemic has hit everyone hard, i just wish the prices were what it used to be in 2019. Platter - 11$ Would we come again? Yes!

Chicken and Lamb Over Rice with White and Red Sauce

Friendly staff and the food is cooked to order so there's about at 10 minute wait. I also get the chicken and lamb over rice, it comes with a little salad and tomatoes on the side. I also get extra white sauce and red sauce - to me the red sauce is not hot at all, I do eat a lot of spicy food, but I absolutely cannot take the red sauce at Halal Guys, this is a much milder sauce, so don't be intimidated if you are. The white sauce also lacks the same flavors as the white sauce I've had at other places, could use just a little more seasoning. Overall not a bad experience and when I want a $10 meal, that's filling and comes with a soda, I always come here.

Delicious street-style lamb gyro. Get it spicy and on pita bread for the full effect Easy parking and quick service. My go-to lunch when in the area. Bonus: makes it easy to pass time while waiting on folks you're picking up from BWI. Closed on Sunday, I think.

Halal mixed platter, extra spicy. (White sauce and 4 lines of red) side pita.

I drive from Annapolis to get this AT LEAST once a week. ( I'm not picking anyone up from BWI... I'm there for halal) The mixed platter (chicken & lamb) is the only thing I've had, so that's what this review is based on. (I always add a pita on the side, so I can make my own little halal burrito) For less than 9 dollars. You get a bowl of food that weighs 2 pounds. The food is fresh, delicious and hot. If you paid 12 bucks you wouldn't be mad. I'd you're into spicy, you're in luck. Add a few lines of the red sauce, and youre spitting flames. The guys who run it are awesome. They really know how to make you feel warm and welcome, and always carry nice conversation. The only reason I haven't reviewed it sooner is out of selfishness. When you find a hidden gem you're reserved to share it.... but I feel like I'm doing everyone a disservice by not telling them to GET OUT OF YOUR CAR AND ORDER A PLATTER WHILE YOURE WAITING FOR YOUR PERSON TO LAND. Had it last night... had it 3 nights before that.... already looking forward to when I drive to see them next. Keep it up gentlemen! Can't wait to be back!

The service was attentive throughout our meal, and every dish arrived beautifully plated with great attention to detail. We started with the Beyti Sujuk Rolls and the Beetroot Hadiqa. The rolls were one of my favorite appetizers. They were crispy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the yogurt and tomato sauce. The Beetroot Hadiqa was equally impressive, with beets, apples, walnuts...it was a refreshing combination of sweet, savory, and creamy flavors. For our entrees, we ordered the Riyash of Lamb and the Freekeh Short Rib. The lamb chops were cooked beautifully and served over couscous with broccolini, while the pistachio crust added a nice texture. The Freekeh Short Rib was incredibly tender and the rich beef jus paired perfectly with the mushrooms. It was hearty, comforting, and one of the best short rib dishes I've had. The cocktails were just as memorable. I ordered the Asfar So Good, while my partner had the Ashita Affair. Both were beautifully presented with a silky foam on top and were as delicious as they looked. The Asfar So Good was light, refreshing, and well-balanced with subtle floral and citrus notes, while the Ashita Affair had a smooth, creamy texture with pistachio and rose flavors that made it feel almost like a dessert cocktail without being overly sweet. This is definitely on the pricier side, but the quality of the ingredients, presentation, atmosphere, and service justify the cost. Every plate felt thoughtfully prepared, and the overall experience was memorable from start to finish. If you're looking for elevated Middle Eastern cuisine, creative cocktails, and one of the most beautiful dining rooms in Baltimore, Ammoora is absolutely worth the splurge.

Parking was a little challenging but nothing to deter me from stopping. I went on a Saturday around 1 pm and it was PACKED!!!! Seating is limited so be prepared to grab takeout at peak hours! Upon walking in, I noticed how vibey it was! All of the staff greeted me and everyone was just really happy to be there. The restaurant was so cute and eclectic, but again, very packed! We were hungry lol. I told the staff member that it was my first time there and he gave me a few recommendations. After reviewing everything, I settled on the tempuras Broccoli and the Neighborhood Bird Bun. Service was very quick and they had us in and out of there. They even had stickers for us to grab! Food: Tempura Broccoli-first few bites were amazing. Then I got to the bottom of the box and the house made vinegar threw off the texture for me as they became soggy so I didn't get to finish them. Overall, they were solid but if you do not like vinegar and have texture issues, they're not for you. I'll give them a solid 3 out of 5. Bun: the bun definitely met my expectations. The chicken was huggggeeee and likely was a chicken thigh, which was a good touch. Ur was juicy and fried to perfection. The herbs provided a well balance and the bao bun was everything. I smashed!!! I would definitely go back and try a different bun. Overall 4.5 out of 5 stars!

This is the best dibi lamb I've had!…read more My first introduction to dibi lamb was at a Malian restaurant in West Philadelphia in the early 2000s. Since that time, I rotate between poisson and dibi whenever I get Senegalese food. West African restaurants are a dime a dozen in Philadelphia, but a lot of the food is just ok, with many of my favorite restaurants changing hands over the years and after COVID most of the food is meh at best. I recently had dibi at the gold standard for Senegalese food in Philadelphia and was disappointed. Fortunately, I have been able to order poisson and dibi from a Malian woman near me and I can make a passable version in a pinch. Two weeks ago, a friend posted on FB that this was the best meal she had ever had. As this was someone I know to have a breadth of experience with food, I was intrigued by the recommendation. So, while attending a conference in the area, I decided to give it a try. Unlike the Senegalese restaurant I recently visited in Chicago, this place was nice - the furnishings, decorations, and even the restroom was modern but authentic. The customer service was also refreshing. As soon as he set the plate down I knew it was going to be spectacular. There was a glorious aroma wafting from the lamb (which I'd ordered spicy), the plantains weren't glistening with oil, and the yassa condiment was a unexpected treat. The lamb was tender, seasoned to perfection and honestly I was so enamored with the food that I texted my friend to concur with her assessment. I was stuffed but didn't want the meal to end and I didn't want to leave. When I finished, I went to wash my hands and when I returned to the table I was disappointed that I had eaten it all. It was truly an outstanding meal with remarkable service. I wish them longevity and success because I intend to return with my family so they too can experience the deliciousness.

I loved the grilled chicken and lamb -- juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. The tilapia was a bit underwhelming, mainly because the fish itself has a bit of a muddy aftertaste. Pair it with a sweet and tangy Bissap -- a vibrant sorrel and pineapple juice -- and the whole meal easily scores an 8.5/10. I also really liked the cozy wooden hut vibe of Nailah's Kitchen. The restaurant is spacious, with plenty of tables and chairs, and the red, green, and yellow lights make the whole place feel just as colorful as the dishes they serve. Service was okay, but it's definitely a spot worth visiting for the food.
