The room itself is enough to bring you to a complete state of relaxation. My husband and I were served a delicious cup of tumeric chai tea made with almond milk and homemade dark chocolates. Phenomenal. After a brief chat with Jill and a tour, my husband was brought to his treatment room and me to mine. I had a kati basti treatment. Jill was beyond any therapist I've ever had. I have chronic back issues and pain and because of her expertise today is the first day in years I have not felt any pain. My husband had the nasya treatment and he said it's the best he's felt in years as well. To say today was amazing would be a huge understatement, to say it was a day we will never forget would be more like it. The hospitality and treatment was second to none. Jill is an incredible teacher, therapist and person. We cannot wait to go back as regularly as possible. You must go here. Thank you so much Jill and staff!!

I received a head massage and I could not have had a better experience. She is a beautiful individual. I have read the negative comments posted and cannot believe any of them. Obviously some very negative individuals who are looking to blame someone for their ills. Denise is a very giving, very caring and very articulate person. I love the way she talked TO you and makes you her total focus. I've been to other practitioners and they don't hold a candle. The office is clean, quiet and very relaxing. I was so glad I had the opportunity to go and receive this treatment. My only "negative" is that they don't take insurance. To me, this is a drawback for the overall practice. Please reconsider and this would help put you "on the map." Denise - I wish you all the blessings and success in your fine work!!!

This was my first time getting such a massage, and my research did not prepare me for this arrangement. Masseur is a super friendly lady, though with her quirks. I was told that I don't drink enough water - a fact that I already knew - but then she went on to say only this brand and that brand were good for you, and only room temperature. I'm thinking "If I need to drink water, getting picky about the brand and temperature is not important." Personally I'll stick to tap water. Also a 10:45pm text the night before to confirm appointment is really inappropriate. I look tired? Oh maybe that's because I was woken up last night. Be sure to take small bills, as they "don't have change." Would I go again? No. But, the one time I went wasn't a total waste and it might be just right for others.

My Yoga teacher recommended an Ayurvedic-focused Retreat for stress & trauma healing. Instead of a…read more$$$ weekend away, I googled because doesn't NYC have everything? Found this business, conveniently located in Midtown / 34th St. and booked a massage. They had a May 2025 Special $195 (Regular $240) : Abhyanga (Massage) + Sound Healing (1.5hr) described specifically for release of stress & trauma. Online booking was very easy, but you do have to create an account & enter a cc for deposit. The "center"/ Spa? is on the 9th floor of a building, across from the Empire State Building) with other medical, holistic services and offices. My practitioner Tia? was calm and welcoming, offered medium temp water. Leave your shoes at the door! Small staff was dressed in black scrub uniforms. Appreciate the trendy black hair bow Tia! The Lobby was decorated with plants, eastern Asian trinkets, a whole wall of Ayurvedic beauty/health and food/herbal products. You'll have to fill out forms, the 2nd one determining your dosha & which kind of oils to use. AND apparently your doshas are different every day?! Expect a generous amount of oil used during treatment, and in your hair for scalp massage. Except for the light lavender facial massage part, the (nicely warmed) oils didn't have a strong fragrance & weren't too sticky or uncomfortable. My treatment room at the back of the lobby was fairly big, clean, and welcoming. Hooks for clothes, two chairs. There was enough room for the massage table and another table on the side wall with a long tube cover (maybe heat treatment?). FYI you're given a disposable paper thong because of the oil-based treatment (Note: wear clothes that you don't mind getting oil on, for the ride home). Prepare for a nice, thoughtful & kind treatment, but you can't be modest with this! The treatment started with some sound therapy - seemed like a high-pitched gong. Tia seemed to know every type of knot, acupressure point, other sensitive spots to release, with just the right amount of medium/hard pressure. There was constant refilling and mixing of the warm oil. I really appreciated her persistence, later using a hot stone to work deeper on one shoulder and scapula. Don't be modest here - because the knots in your butt, hips, & abdomen (lighter strokes) will be worked on - it's all connected. There was also some scalp massage, feet, and facial with lavender-scented oil & a warm poultice. Had another short session of sound therapy once you turnover. Very happy with this treatment! The practitioner was kind, knowledgeable (without saying much) and in tune with bodywork. The room was a good temperature, the sheets & pillows clean & comfy. The owner shared some insight about Ayurvedic practice afterwards. I look forward to coming back on my healing journey! The only thing I would change is to book a regular Abhyanga Massage, the sound therapy part was a small part of the treatment & overall something that probably needs dedicated time. They offer a lot on their services menu (which can be overwhelming to decide) & I'm not sure if the other smaller add-ons are worth it, maybe reflexology. Thanks NY Ayurvedic & Panchakarma Center!
