In long 4 months ago, my lovely bride had a massive stroke, and one of her neurologists referred her here as part of her care. Among other things, she needs to increase flexibility in her left arm and leg, and cut down on pain and spasm in those areas. Even though she has been terrified of needles since she was little, she is game to try anything that could help her bounce back on the road to recovery. Getting her set up in their system was easy enough, and they do take our insurance. In our case, there's a $50 copay, which ends up being very much worth it. The receptionist told us they're right by H Mart, which not only makes them easy to find, but also gives us tons of reasons to joke about adding grocery shopping to our errands after a session here. We filled out some paperwork to outline her medications and medical concerns, and wheeled back just a minute or two later. Turns out acupuncture likely has no bad interactions with most medications, though they do want to know if you're on any herbal supplements--they take care to prevent interactions with those. It's a new-ish, clean, well-lit office. The treatment rooms are small and somewhat bare. There's a padded table in the middle where you lie back and let the needles go to work on you. Dr Yoon came in after a minute or two and asked where she wanted to focus her treatment. She had to pull up her sleeve and her pant leg, but that was it. We've already been back once, and made sure he brought over pillows to support her left leg while she laid back. After a few minutes, lying totally flat is essentially unbearable for her, and they made sure she was fully comfortable. She went from 10-12 minutes in place the first time to well over 30 minutes the second time. Both times, she has been immediately much more limber for the whole day and several days after. Easier time hopping up into my truck (I have to help her do this, and believe me, I can see the difference). Left hand no longer swollen and red. Nausea much more under control. She just feels better all over after seeing Dr Yoon. We have 10 more visits covered this year. We'll use all of them. If there were no copay we'd probably come twice a week. The whole staff here is nice, and Dr Yoon in particular is a very soothing and caring person.

Nope turned out to be basically "hey this is what we do as naturopaths or chiroprators, sports therapy ... Maybe if more people showed up would have been more of a discussion and less of a fishing expedition on their side.. but was done in less than 15 minutes... so not a lot of waste of time but will be hard pressed to consider them for that alone. But then I was told that I could only make an appointment if wanted massage therapy AND chiropractic care AND acupuncture. I explained I didn't need or want all three, and only wanted massage therapy. They insisted that I couldn't be seen for just that and I had to do all three, and said, "I don't really know how to explain it..." I asked to speak to someone else, and when the same person came back on the line, she then said they didn't take Kaiser insurance. Something feels scammy and smells fishy to me about this whole interaction and company. No thanks.

Good things don't always last forever: I asked that my new PT referral to be submitted to Atlas PT…read morebecause I had such positive success in the past. The new referral was for joint pain in different joints that were addressed in the past. However, I ran into a difficult situation trying to set up the initial evaluation (that generates a recommendation for further PT sessions). The office staff stalled in a number of different ways that communicated that they were not available to receive any new clients. I was told that Dr Tito Dith, PT had such a full schedule of clients that I should call back in 3 months! The staff person would not schedule the initial evaluation as Dr Dith was overbooked and that the practice had lost 4 of their 5 PT assistants due to their taking higher paying positions elsewhere. Unfortunately, this story is currently being repeated over and over again in established practices that is a real game changer. The only way to prevent support staff from leaving for higher pay is to offer them that competitive compensation in the first place. I do not know all of the circumstances, only what the office staff is willing to share. As for me, I learned enough while I was their client to feel like I am able to devise a productive and beneficial home program. This will require that I investigate what the internet has to offer. It would be helpful for a pro to oversee my home program. But in this case Tito Dith has made it clear that he is unavailable. So, based on what the staff is currently reporting, I cannot recommend Atlas Physical Therapy. This is the reason that I have updated my review and awarded only one star.
