An hour after I called him, Len Nuzzo showed up at my door. I told him what two other plumbers wanted to charge we to fix the problem ($2,500 & $4,500). Len fixed the problem in less than an hour for $325. Everything working as it should. read more

The management of my building recommended Nuzzo plumbing for a shower repair in my unit. On August 28th, I attempted to schedule the service within a week, but they told me they were busy and to call the next week. After a few more attempts, Len confirmed the appointment for September 18. I proceeded to notify the building tenants of the required water shutdown during this time and had someone "working from home" to be available for the repair. To my huge surprise, Nuzzo did not show up or called me to alert me of the cancellation. I had to call and the answer was: "sorry, we were to busy and had to cancel". I tried the following week and finally they told me they would not be able to perform this job. I lost one month and significant time coordinating and making calls. This is to me a complete lack of professionalism that makes me wonder how it is they have been in business for long time. I would not recommend them! read more

Just want to give a shout out and recommendation to Nuzzo Sewer and Plumbing!! Have a house that is 100 years old, sink in kitchen woukd not turn off. Being on a water meter and watching the water run like that is like money flying down the drain-so I had to shut off the main as there were no shut offs under the sink. Anyway a friend recommended Nuzzo, I called and the owner ACTUALLY answered!! Told him my issue, he was not able to come out-but he said text me a picture of the faucet, from there he walked me through how to fix it!!! So impressed that he walked me through it and I fixed it!! His quick response and help is SO appreciated, not to mention his honesty that I didn't need him to come out!! Thank you Len Nuzzo!! #plumber. #nuzzo read more

We needed a new faucet, drain plug, and under-sink pipes replaces in our bathroom. Called Nuzzo on Thursday, Len called back later that day. I sent photos of my current sink/faucet/pipes and new faucet. He gave me a quote in minutes. He fit me in the very next morning! I got a call when the guys were one the way. He sent Junior and Victor, very friendly, professional, easy to work with. They were neat and careful and finished the whole job FAST (less than an hour) and left everything just as the found it. Even took off their shoes. The final prices was exactly as quoted, not cheap but reasonable for good service. I was VERY HAPPY that I called Nuzzo and definitely would use them again. read more

I called today, and their team arrived within 2 hours and had my leak repaired within twenty minutes. This is the same job that a different company tried to fix a month ago, with no success at twice the price! Friendly and quick response. Highly recommend!! read more

It's Friday the 13th and our sewer in the garage decided to celebrate the occasion by regurgitating a large amount of raw sewage. Yes, pieces of poop, (including the unappetizing, dreadful sight of yesterday's corn) came up in our garage through the drain. Apparently the connection to the main sewer was blocked. And the whole garage reeked. I called Nuzzo since I've seen the name many times before when I lived on the NW side of Chicago. He advertises in the weekly church bulletin as well as at our old parish, St. Francis Borgia . I called him mid-morning around 10:30 and while he had a couple jobs ahead of mine, by 3:30 he showed up with his truck. Len Nuzzo came with an assistant and a power-rodding device. In less than 15 minutes, he popped of the clean-out cap and inserted a motor-driven coil that rammed through the blockage. He even showed us the source of the problem. Besides some tree roots we expected. You know those "flushable" moist bathroom wipes for kids like Kan-doo? Well, turns out they are flushable, but once they go down the drain, they tend to snag on to obstructions and compound the problem. That's right parents, don't flush them or you pay the price... $300 in my case. Len joked that the flushable wipes were invented by a plumber who wanted to stay in business. All joking aside, they were professional, reliable and got it done promptly. The tidal pool of poop and sewer debris subsided and vanished down the garage drain just like that. A good hose-down and some bleach and my garage was as good as before. read more

Kitchen sink wouldn't drain. I tried my best to fix it but no luck. Called Nuzzo and they were able to come out the next day to help me. The guys that came explained what they were going to do first and the estimated cost before starting their work. They rodded inside first and let me know it didn't work. Then the rodded outside and let me know it would be a higher cost. I appreciated the heads up. They found the issue when rodding outside and showed me what they found (personal products and tree branches). I will now make a sign to inform household members of what goes in the toilet vs garbage. Embarrassing moment BUT they got the job done and I very much appreciate it! Lesson learned. Thank you! read more

1 star for not rodding from the outside to begin with. 2 stars for price 5 stars for promptness returning calls/showing up to work Our trusted retired ex-plumber recommended Nuzzo. Ex-plumber says rodding averages $300 for a mainline clean out. Len Nuzzo charges $325 (their trucks were a lot nicer....) but upped it to $395 due to the crawlspace. As our lower level toilet/shower were backed up and rain expected, I decided to pay the extra $70. Len called two younger dudes, who got in the crawl without difficulty. After some time rodding with a small cutter in the wrong direction (due to the T joint), they pulled out some tree roots. Two days later, the toilet backed up again. I phoned; Nuzzo said they'd try again -- surprise -- they rodded the line from the street cleanout to the house with a larger cutter. Everyone at Nuzzo was polite and friendly but we miss our sassy/cheaper/more "explainy" ex-plumber. I have a few comments about Nuzzo. 1) If the second rodding was done from outside, why was the first done from the higher-cost crawl space? $70 lesson I learned? Ask the plumber to search for all available clean-out spots before starting work. I feel a bit cheated. 2) I caught Len preparing to put a business sticker on our furnace (they don't do HVAC) and he confessed he'd put one on our water heater. I found this sticking without permission to be rather cheeky. 3) After paying for the 1st visit, I went inside to find they left the downstairs shower running. If I didn't hear it and turn it off, our metered water bill would've been huge! When I mentioned this to Len on visit #2, he said they always leave water running. I asked why he didn't tell me they'd do that. RotoRooters (cruddy, don't use, too expensive) didn't leave the water running at my old home. UPDATE 1/2018 Toilet still backing up, suspected line needed rodding. New guys hired rodded from the flood control flap, which Nuzzo ignored. Guess where the line was clogged? Yup, from the flood control to the street. *sigh* read more

After spending the majority of my Thanksgiving break fighting with a clogged up kitchen sink and downstairs shower, Friday night we gave up and called a few plumbers. We left a message with one place, had another tell us that someone would call us back, but we still haven't heard back, then we called Nuzzo, and got the man, himself, on the phone. We explained the issue and asked if there was anyway they could come out on Saturday. They came out early Saturday morning, took a quick look and let us know how much it would cost to clean out the line. The initial attempts did not work and they had to go into our basement and work on the lines down there which cleared the clog. I thought they would charge more for the extra work, but we were only charged the amount they initially quoted. I am very happy with their service and I am very glad that they are in business. read more

4 stars for the service 3 stars for the price Len and his partner did good work but are also on the pricey end for this type of work. They rodded and cameraed my main sewer line. Based on what we saw on camera, I ended up having to have part of the line dug up and replaced and Len's estimate was $1500-1700 more than 3 others I received. read more

Called Nuzzo on Sunday morning and by noon Sunday he had fixed our backed up sewer line. Called a couple places before calling here and he was the only one to answer... Actually left messages with other highly rated plumbers and as of noon when our issue was already fixed by Nuzzo, hadn't heard back from them. Since we're bound to need a plumber again someday (hopefully not anytime soon) we will make Nuzzo our only call! read more

I talked with four plumbers before deciding to go with Nuzzo. Nuzzo plumbing clearly had the most relevant experience in the type of severe, long-term problem we were facing, and had a proven solution. Nuzzo's experience, and confidence in the pricing and effectiveness of their approach was unmatched by any other group. The team was friendly, efficient and hard working. We implemented a flood control solution, a major project, in a very efficient and painless way. I'm very happy with my experience with Len and his group. read more

The guys installing our new sump pump told us that our injector pit was leaking into the sump pit and that the injector pit would have to be rebuilt. They recommended Nuzzo Plumbing to do the work. I called and Len Nuzzo answered the phone right away. He suggested a couple things that couple be wrong and sent two guys over in less than an hour! It turns out that it was just a check value that needed replacing and Nuzzo charged a very fair price. They did the repair right on the spot. This was a much less dire situation that what the sump guys initially presented earlier in the day. I was really pleased with how quickly Nuzzo responded to our situation and the professionalism of the two guys they sent. I would definitely use them again and would recommend them to others. read more

After 3 flooding events with 3 feet of sewer water in my basement i finally called and had them come out to evaluate my problem. After 10 Minutes They had determined that i needed to install the Tramco Lift Station. Since the unit was installed in 2009 i have not had 1 drop of water in my basement, even when everyone else on my block was full to the rafters. Great service. Great people. I have even began to use them for plumbing and backflow valve testing at my work. read more

I highly recommend Nuzzo plumbing. I had to have a sewer repair. Actually I wasn't sure what I needed. All I knew was that my sump pump was constantly running and my battery backup kept going on. I called Len at Nuzzo plumbing and they came out within 24 hours to check it out. Come to find out that I had a cracked pipe and the water was just coming right back in. You never know who to trust. They could have told me anything but They also showed me and showed me pictures inside the pipe as I was standing there with them. They put some kind of dye or whatever it was to show how it was coming back in. Long story short. I needed to replace the pipe which just happened to be under my cement driveway..UGHH!! Once they dug it up I was able to see the sink hole the water had created. We caught it before it got too huge. They tore up a very small section of the drive and replaced the pipe at a very fair/reasonable price. I WOULD HIGHLY recommend Nuzzo plumbing for Honest, Quality work. Ask for Len...he was great. read more

Len is a really nice guy. I actually feel bad writing this, but my neighbors convinced me to in order to save the next guy lots of money. We hired Len Nuzzo to rod out the sewer in our (new to us) older home several years ago after hearing he'd worked on our house in the past. We treat the roots with a chemical twice a year to bridge between rodding, but obviously roots in Chicago keep growing. In January, the basement flooded and Len came out, rodded and cleared the line so that the flood receded. Charged me for a full service ($295). 6 weeks later we flooded again. Len came out and again rodded and charged me for a full service ($295). 6 weeks later, we flooded again, and when I called Len, he admitted that he had only cleared 50' the first time, and 65' the second (it is 100' to the street). He told me it would be another full charge to come out again because he isn't responsible for the condition of the lines in a 100 year old home... I hired another plumber (Fettes) who came out and cleared all The way to the street - yes it took more time, and they billed for their time (only slightly more than Nuzzo's charge). I'm recommending to everyone that if you hire him - verify the length he is clearing so you don't end up endlessly in a loop flooding and paying for incomplete work. We ended up with hours of trauma, cleaning, disinfecting that could have been avoided by honesty, thoroughness, and a little more work that we would have happily paid for if the work had actually been done! read more
