We attended the "animal talk" with guests LLC Reptile this month and the employee refused to use a microphone for over half an hour because he legit said "he's never used one before and didn't know how it worked" and with way too many kids and parents packed in that room, you couldn't hear anything. Library employees let it get out of hand, let children stand up so everyone behind them couldn't see and just couldn't control the noise level. It wasn't a fun experience and my kids begged to go half way through because it was just talking and barely any interaction. This is just feedback that you can hopefully take to improve on your next event. PLEASE think about passing out tickets (like the other locations) to control how many people can enter. We were there waiting 30 minutes prior, reading inside and we were almost the last ones in because we didn't know a mob had already formed blocking the entire entrance. The sad part was your entire parking lot was packed and vehicles were parked up and down the street for this event and all I heard were kids and parents complaining that they couldn't see/hear anything. We've also been to a craft day where because we sat at a back table, they ran out of the craft before they got to us which is strange since there weren't that many people there. Again, think about being more prepared or just limit how many people can join an event so everyone can have fun and feel included.

Being new in town, I went in looking for books for toddlers and a summer program and just like any library they had both. The girls at the desk were friendly and helpful. If you're applying for a new library card, bring ID and proof of address if you haven't updated address on ID. They will take an utility bill. Simple. Check done The selection of books here is fair, dvds not so much. Books vary on subjects and some in Spanish too. You do have to consider is fairly small library. Don't expect to find every single book in mind. But nonetheless don't feel limited to only space and books found here. Being a county library, you can order books from any library to be brought here and simply pick up once items arrive. If you're looking for a room full of computers, that's not the case here. They have about 4-5 computers with access to the internet. Printing black and white is .15 cents and color is .65 cents a page. They have space designated for kids which is nice and clean but in my humble opinion should be stocked a bit more. Overall this library is small and would love for the city to consider expanding it in a near future as the size of the library compared to all the households in San Jacinto is not proportional.

They suggest books and always answer any questions. They also have activities on different days of the week to come and bring your kiddos and your whole family to enjoy. This library is very close to my house so we come every week.

I can't speak to any of the other resources as I haven't used them. However, the way the staff treat the people in the library leaves a lot to be desired, hence my 2-star review. Although the publicly posted hours state they close at 6 pm, beginning at 5:30 pm, there is an aggressive push to get everyone out of the library, with constant announcements over the loudspeaker, security guard patrolling the study areas, and the librarians also coming around and reminding everyone to leave by 5:45 pm. At 5:35 pm, I was told that if I didn't leave by 5:45 pm I would be locked in the library with my child overnight. I stated the library closes at 6 pm, and we will be gone well before that time. At 5:55 pm, as we were leaving, the security guard and the librarian came over to tell us we were there past closing. They definitely scared my child into thinking that would happen. Woof. The overbearing staff is a bit much. But if anyone is down for a sleepover in the library, it's me!!

Note, a lot of the books may be old / dingy, I've had some with food stains in it which is gross. However, I've also gotten lucky with books in good shape. Most people that work there are friendly and willing to help, I've only had one so so experience with a young girl who acted rude / know it all, even to other staff, so it may just be personality.

it's a bit sketchy and in a bit sketchy area. the building itself is super cute. when we came…read moreinside it was kinda underwhelming but it's been a long time since i've been to a small library like this. it had plenty of children books, didn't get a chance to see the adult section. we had a fussy baby with us. after about ten minutes he was too fussy to be in there so we went back to the car while my nieces read their books. after a while my sister gave me a phone call while she was inside the library and the security guard was extremely rude to her to tell her to get off the phone. my sister wasn't being loud or anything she was just making sure we were okay. i may visit again as it's the closest library to me but if i have another bad experience i may just go out of my way to find a better library.

Considering that this library is fairly new (dedicated in August 2020,)I knew I had to stop by for a visit to check it out. Before entering the library, I noticed signage in front that face masks are required to enter the library. Before entering the library, I also noticed chalk art in front of the library's entrance promoting their summer reading program which is currently going on. Upon entering the library, I immediately noticed the self checkout station to the left as well as a library catalog computer to the right of the entrance. The layout of the library is smart in that there's clear signage so the visitor knows where everything is. I liked that there is seating which is separated and private. There is also a standing hand sanitizer dispenser so visitors can clean their hands during their time at the library. I feel it was a smart design choice to have an all genders bathroom versus separated bathrooms for men and women as well as have a water fountain with a water bottle refilling station. After browsing the library shelves, I approached the information desk to obtain a library card. The staff member who assisted me was friendly and efficient. Once the employee confirmed my address, asked for my phone number as well as asking how I want to be notified for library things (text, email, phone,) she quickly created my library card, informed me of my library PIN number and told me to have a nice day. This library is a great addition to Moreno Valley and I can't wait to visit the library again soon to fully utilize the variety of services and resources they offer.
