We attended the "animal talk" with guests LLC Reptile this month and the employee refused to use a microphone for over half an hour because he legit said "he's never used one before and didn't know how it worked" and with way too many kids and parents packed in that room, you couldn't hear anything. Library employees let it get out of hand, let children stand up so everyone behind them couldn't see and just couldn't control the noise level. It wasn't a fun experience and my kids begged to go half way through because it was just talking and barely any interaction. This is just feedback that you can hopefully take to improve on your next event. PLEASE think about passing out tickets (like the other locations) to control how many people can enter. We were there waiting 30 minutes prior, reading inside and we were almost the last ones in because we didn't know a mob had already formed blocking the entire entrance. The sad part was your entire parking lot was packed and vehicles were parked up and down the street for this event and all I heard were kids and parents complaining that they couldn't see/hear anything. We've also been to a craft day where because we sat at a back table, they ran out of the craft before they got to us which is strange since there weren't that many people there. Again, think about being more prepared or just limit how many people can join an event so everyone can have fun and feel included.

They stole one of my cars from the gym across the street it's just not a good place they don't do nothing about it. so the homeless people just sit on the couch and nothing it's not a good library lol. and I go to sleep on the couch with a dirty shoes on the couch don't come here. if you do come here, you're going to feel very uncomfortable, and everybody is homeless in a library from the youth to the old.

Upon entering this library location, we were warmly greeted by a library employee. The library building layout is spacious and has clearly defined spaces for kids, teens, and adults. The water fountains and public bathrooms are currently closed however since the library is located in the mall, you can find a nearby bathroom by leaving the library.There are two public use computers available for public use as well as COVID-19 signage and hand sanitizer on tables throughout the library. I especially appreciated that they have a community resources binder available for the public to view and provides community members with the option to add any additional resources to the binder. With a laid back environment, colorful artwork on the walls, and friendly library staff, we will definitely be visiting this library location again soon.

They have lil toys gift for certain reading challenges or book rewards. Good rewards to motivate. Starting august they have a borrow 5 books and spin the wheel and get a free kids meal from in n out to raising canes and more. All the librarians are kind and helpful. Very informative about a lot of the stuff that is going on. Have a nice day!

During finals week when everyone heads back onto campus to study after dinner, I guarantee that you will not find a table in Orbach until at least 10pm. Rivera? Go during finals week at 6pm, there will be a lot of tables open. Sure it's only open until 2am during finals, but by that point, you're practically dead already unless you're on addy or hella caffeine. Either way, you should treat yourself to the nice refreshing walk or drive over to Orbach at 12am when you know the seats will be open up. Alright, I gotta get back to studying for finals~

This is the oldest library on the UCR campus, which opened in 1954, and is one of the 2 main…read morelibraries (the other is Orbach Science Library). There is a basement and 3 floors. This place is usually packed floor to floor during finals week and midterms, too. Nonetheless, there is ample quantity of seating on each floor. A major flaw about this library is the incredibly dim lighting in some areas, so it's harder to concentrate when working on homework or studying. However, in the morning and afternoon, there is natural lighting that streams through the second floor windows, which somewhat makes up for the bad lighting in this library.

The setup on Saturdays, until about noon (so they say), is a canopy that looks like the ones people…read moreuse, when they give away the free phones. I'm saying that to say....there's no access inside the building on a Saturday, for a few hours. I went there, because I had to print something out. I'm not sure how much of a help they could be, being outside and didn't ask, since what I went for, couldn't be accomplished. There is plenty of free parking (the Main Library in Downtown Riverside is much bigger but has a limited number of free spaces and you would need tokens from the Kids Center librarian on kids activity days to pay if you're in a Pay-to-Park spots). Although this location has some homeless people outside sometimes, the inside is nice. Service: Staff have been very friendly these past few years from Mrs. Gloria, who's frequently seen at the main checkout counter or running the Baby Playtime and Preschool Playtime Hours, to the young ladies who assist with the crafts. Activities: In the summer (going on now) they have free lunch for kids under 18 on Mondays through Fridays. So you can take your young child to Baby Storytime on Tuesdays or Preschool Storytime on Wednesdays then stay for the lunch (Riverside City Program) between 12:00-1:30. Don't forget to sign up for their Summer Reading Program where your child can get a prize for every 5 books read or read to them if they're very young. Prizes (in order) include a free swim, free kid's meal at Old Spaghetti Factory, a free mini churro, free ice cream with purchase at First Class Pizza, Free Kid's Meal at Chipotle, Free kid's meal at Raising Cane's, Free personal pizza at Roundtable, Free 3 oz. yogurt at Yogurtland, Shop Riverside Discount Card, and a free book (select titles) at Barnes & Noble. They also have toys that can be checked out for two weeks. There's a catalog of toys including Legos and Magnatiles or dolls that can go home with the use of a library card.
