I wouldn't recommend this Library to my enemy Where do I even start I want to give it 0 stars because my time was wasted due to their poor horrible customer service. I called around to every Library in Morenovalley and even Perris to see if there are any hotspots available to checkout. I spoke to the Library man over the phone at the main branch library and he told me that library has one left and that he would place it on hold for me and ask for my name . I said great I'll come right now to pick it up. When I got there it was a whole different story. I told the clueless Librarian that I am here to pick up the hotspot that on reserved and I gave her my ID (she taught I wanted to put one on hold???) she told me there are none available then another Librarian lady came and saw what was going on and try to see why the one they had couldn't be checked out to me???!!! Omgeee it was RESTRICTED!!!!! and I didn't understand why was the security guard at the desk, and that , another Librarian lady came and place me #6 on the list to check out a hotspot REALLY the whole reason why I came THIS Library because Librarian man told meeee over the phone they had one available, and that it would be placed on hold for meee with my name why take my name if you don't have one AVAILABLE BRUH!!!!‍ what a waste of time and gas I hate being lied to and made too look like a FOOL. Going to the library oh how much I didn't like it when I was growing up over half a century ago. But I missed out on so much. I turned out just fine but had to work harder I guess. Now starting my retirement I get to take my grandkids to get books to read at home. Their minds are like sponges and the more they know the smarter they get. My new go to library! The staff are very friendly and helpful. While their collections aren't huge, they are decent sized. They did not have a book I was looking for and I put in a request to have it sent from another library. Within 2-3 days it was here! How great! Usually it's not very busy here which is nice. I've been here twice so far and it was very quiet and had a really good atmosphere. They automatically extended my book due date for an extra 2 weeks for me which was also nice. read more

I come to this Library often to buy books. The price of $0.50 for a paperback book and $1 for a hardback book really appeals to me. I've bought books from many of my favorite authors all at a bargain price. When I check out books I usually check out comics books and anime. I like the fact that I can check out 30 books at one time. It allows me to check out all of the comics or books in a series and binge read them within a 2 weeks period. The lines to receive service from the librarians can get a little long at times, but the librarians process people through check out quickly. The librarians here have always been polite and extremely helpful when I visit. The tables can fill up quickly, sometimes it is hard to find a place to sit down and plug in your phone or laptop. But usually I can find a good spot at one of the tables to work from. All of my experiences with this library has been positive. I really enjoy this place and will continue to come here. read more

Worst library I've ever been to. It is way to small for the size of the city. Has no study area. Parking is horrible. They tried to charge me for over due books. When I informed them that books were returned on time I got nothing but attitudes from the staff member until I showed her my receipt. WiFi doesn't work 99% of the time. Really live this little library. One of my favorites for sure. It's right around the corner and the staff is soooo helpful.

My daughter has a project at school and needed a particular book. Our library didn't have it but a Sister library did. My daughter called MV Library and a librarian helped her have the book sent to our local library. First, my daughter is still learning, so I appreciated the patience of the staff member that helped her and I definitely appreciate them walking her through the steps so she will know for next time. I got a text telling me the book was ready for pick up 4 days later score! No guessing involved My daughter wasn't with me, but I had her card (she is only 13) so I went and checked out her book. No issues at all. The service was phenomenal. Quick and painless. We can keep the book for 2 weeks before returning or renewing it online if needed. Thanks MV library for helping us out read more

When using the computers in the business center, make sure you are aware of the running clock on the bottom right of the monitor. This is your time limit of an hour. The worst part is that I was not told this. When I tried to save it the computer would not allow me to save, so I sent it to print. When I walked up to pay for the page, the guy told me it was not there, to send it again..unfortunately my time ran out and I lost an hours worth of work... read more

Not very impressed with this library. Now that school is out, EVERYONE brings their kids to this library and it's difficult finding a spot to sit down and study. It doesn't help that this library is small and I find the arrangement at this library questionable. For instance, the long table that stretches out in the middle of the library is where people with laptops sit to use the internet. It's awkward to sit right next to strangers and have laptop wires going all over the place, trying to reach the surge protectors . Why can't there be outlets all around the library? It just seems ghetto how people have to cram into one area to use the outlets. read more

When I arrived in this city a little over 20 years ago, I was Dumb, Sick, and Broke (read the book by the same title). Within 10 years of frequenting this little library I had become Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise due largely to their self help and business sections. Self reliance and self determination is the way out of the darkness that is ignorance (read the Autobiography of Malcolm X). The least appreciated/ greatest asset in any community and for building community are the public libraries (where else are the movers, shakers and intellectuals to meet and greet?). Nowhere is there a greater Return On Investment dollars by the taxpayers than in good public libraries FREE OF CENSORSHIP... NOWHERE... I eagerly learned more in those 10 years than I did in my previous 12 years of a long drawn out indoctrination (formal/ public schooling). Thank you Moreno Valley Library for all that you have done and continue to do for the community. The 4 stars is not your fault, but the city's for not doing nearly enough to support/ help make you the 5 star establishment you could/ should be. The library and the parking lot is the same size it was when I got here over 20 years ago. The new library is a good step in the right direction (kudos to the city), but lets not allow the books to be burned (literally or otherwise...) or they will never be returned to the society from which they were purposefully taken. read more

I have to start out by saying that while I was walking in, it look like they weren't watering the plants. However, when I walked into the library, I was greeted by very friendly librarians. The environment felt very calm, friendly, and educational. This is not a big Library, however, it does provide enough resources for the community of Moreno Valley. I love my library, I have been going there pretty much all of my life, lately though I have been having to go to the library in Riverside. The color printer at this location was out of order for over a year, yes I kept track because I need it for homework. The black printer went in and out during that year and now both printers are out of order again. Apparently it is a toner issue, something easily fixed by a trip to Office Depot. I needed an encyclopedia which they no longer have not even in the reference area. It was after spending time at the Downtown Library that I realized our library is falling apart the furniture is old and ripped the carpet is horribly stained, the bathrooms are old, small, dirty, no ventilation aside from that it is a very small library considering the size of the community it serves. There are no study rooms which are a huge necessity there are a lot of people who would benefit from a better library. They seem to have very very limited reference which is another reason I go to Riverside the last couple times I have gone the "Reference Desk" has been closed. That being said I still check out books from here, yes the library in the mall is new but their collection is very small and they only have 6 public computers and strangely enough no bathrooms. read more

Well aside from not being very organized, especially in the children's section which is what we frequent, it has a lot of used books, which you think would be good until you check out a used book and then without you knowing they charge you for damaged books, that were that way when you check them out. The supervisor is the only one you can talk to about this and is not available to talk to so your stuck with charges, that you can only pay cash for, not really a problem if you know about the charges, but they don't inform you. I'm frustrated when we show up and they are closed at random times. They need to get better organized and quit being sneaky about their charges. read more

To my knowledge this is a City library, but at this point it seems like the City does not care for it's resident or services "they" provide. Saturday there was an incident involving a child vomiting in the front area that provides access to the children's section. Someone sprinkled some type of absorbing agent on it and left it as it was for the entire day. That was completely unsanitary especially because it is the ONLY access point to the children's section. Speaking of children's area they have been getting rid of books and not replacing them you ask for something and they never have it. The bathrooms are disgusting, they are filthy, it smells terrible, they don't have changing tables, my husband has told me more than 3 times that there has been feces all over some of the stalls when my son needed to use the bathroom. Instead of cleaning it they just place an out of order sign and close the bathroom. When the weather gets hot the library actually smells like must and filth. Some of the staff are awesome, others not so much. If you happen to need information and it is the young Hispanic brunette that wears glasses, you can ask the other staff, she is rude, never knows anything, and ALWAYS seems annoyed. That might have to do with the fact that she is always working on other things while at information, maybe crafting. The city really needs to step it up for the community they serve. Oh and the color printer has been "out of service" for almost a YEAR. They just removed hundreds of books from the adult section too you can visibility tell. We NEED a better library. read more
