    My home came pre-wired by Safewatch security so I chose to give them a try. What a disappointment…read more I was charged $181.00 for the install and the first month and a half of monitoring. Now lets rehash all of the issues... My originally installed touch pad was not working and they had to go and take one from another residence. After the new was installed the downloads and testing was performed on the system and all seemed fine. ( For accuracy, the system came with smart home technology for control of the front door, hvac, two cameras, one of which was the doorbell cam, three door contacts and a motion detector with police, fire and 24 hour monitoring ). The second installed touch pad had an issue with its ability to connect to a cellular tower, I was told that the signal was the weakest allowable and if I wanted to approve on it I would have to purchase another one. Red flag. The very next day neither camera was working. I called the owner and he said that he'll try and trouble shoot them but to no avail. No mention of returning to check on the issue. Red flag. At that point I decided to cancel the agreement. The number to call on the letter head was out of service. Red flag. The cancellation agreement states that "You may cancel this transaction, without any penalty or obligation". I guess not returning my $99 doesn't fall under the " without penalty" clause. Stay away there are way more ethical and professional companies available.

First two organization moved my complaint with other complaints for ADT while the last one turned out to be as useless as the Safewatch Security / ADT. Upon moving into my house in 2016, Safewatch sales person contacted me and offered their services. I was shopping for a security system and contemplating between CPI and ADT. After reviewing online, I asked for ADT Pulse with alarm monitoring, ability to a video monitor, lock/unlock doors, and turn on/off the lights. I have the sales person's business card with his handwriting, which states "0" dollars cost to you for the equipment, installation, and activation of the services. However, when we wrote the contract, he wrote ADT pulse + glass break sensor + control panel + cameras. I was under the impression that These were the items that I would be getting in addition to the ADT pulse I asked for. After the installation, I did not see any window sensors or automated locks. When I asked the installer, he stated this is everything I will be receiving. I contacted the salesperson to rectify the issue, but he said that is all I would get based on my contract. As I was trying to explain to him that there is a misunderstanding, he raised his voice and talked to me in a condescending manner, and called me a liar. I called the company and spoke with the owner, who was way more professional than the salesperson. The owner of the company offered compensation by waving the company's profit and labor cost for what the salesperson has told me the equipment and services I would be receiving, but at that point, I just wanted to cancel my contract and avoid any future interactions with the company. However, I was told that my three days gross period for cancellation was over and they can not cancel my account without charging me the cost of the contract, which was about 2,150.00 + tax. This was the day after they complete my installation, which I became aware of the issues, but the contract was signed ten days ago and the gross period for cancellation started on the day of contract signing not the day of installation completion. I called the ADT customer service, but they were way more ignorant than the Safewatch salesperson. ADT customer service refused to transfer me to a supervisor and intentionally disconnect the service multiple times "while transferring my call." At any rate, all this was happening as I was preparing to go overseas, and I gave up pursuing the matter. I just received an e-mail from ADT stating my service charges would be increased due to an increase in their operational cost, which prompted me to write this review after three years. I called ADT and told them I do not accept the increase, and they said "OK" no problem and my service fees remained the same. I wonder how many people call them to dispute like me and how many people would not bother and allow ADT to steal their hard earned money. This was my experience, and I hope nobody else would go through the same issues as I did.
