I would call Nutrishop your neighborhood supplement and nutrition store. It's not like other chain supplement stores where the staff are not that knowledgeable of their products. Nutrishop staff are products of the products they sell (just follow them on social media)! They host regular fitness challenges that are free; during these challenges there are chances to win prizes, free shaker cups, they can help you with meal planning, recommend supplements (but don't need to buy to participate), and you get to do the InBody body composition, which is eye-opening to measure your body fat, water, muscle, etc. Product selection is limited, but mainly because they only carry select products to help you meet your fitness needs of any kind. Something I really like about Nutrishop is how devoted they are to the SFV; they regularly engage in the community at events, can be seen tabling at local gyms, support CSUN, and local running clubs. New supplement store opens up so you know I had to check this place out. Before entering, I noticed how close it is in proximity with Vitamin Shoppe. These two stores are across the street from each other. Now let me tell you why you need to come here instead of Vitamin Shoppe. Upon stepping in I was greeted by Shawn and John and they were no doubt the coolest most knowledgeable supplement store employees I have ever been helped by. They were knowledgeable, personable, and conversational. They let me use the InBody weight scale where it measured things such as skeletal muscle mass (SMM), body fat mass, dry lean mass, total body water, etc. They printed out the results afterwards and told me exactly what each of those things mean on a number scale. After a brief conversation with Shawn he offered me to try his favorite BCAA by opening up a bottle of Sparkletts and mixing the BCAA's just because I was curious about it. They even gave me a free sample of protein and a decently sized Nutrishop shaker. Experiences like these are where I feel the need to get on Yelp and let people know. Stay true Nutrishop, and you guys will be one the best supplement stores in the San Fernando Valley. read more
