TO BE A SMARTER PATIENT: (insurance 101, ignore me if you already know this stuff. I'm still learning...) Pay attention to the section where it asks about a deductible. If you have a high deductible plan or have not met your deductible for the year, you will likely pay more than just the copay amount. Example -- the cost for the percutaneous test (eg the scratch test with different potential allergens on your skin) - I did the food one, actually costs $720. If you have a deductible of $1000 on your plan and you haven't had any health visits that you paid toward the deductible yet... you could very well end up paying $720 to get this scratch test. I've asked the office to modify the deductible section - right now my form says N/A after deductible. This led me to believe that my insurance covered scratch tests and it wouldn't require my deductible first. I've asked the office to add another response to that question for the office tech to circle "unknown." Because the office stated that if the insurance doesn't provide the information, they might circle n/a. Unknown is a better indicator to the patient that the clinic has attempted to get the information, but was unable to. In which case as a patient, there's more of a chance that I'll get a big bill later. To the office: I do appreciate the attempt at transparency via this form. But I stand by the fact that I felt very pressured to take the test, citing that appointments are hard to get, and that I'm almost certainly not going to have to pay more than the copay. My other feedback is to be clear about the office's inability to accurately predict costs for the tests, because insurance is a confusing piece of sh!t. Don't tell patients that they don't have to pay, if you are unsure.

She has enlightend me on so many issues that involve improving my health, and the results are great. My goals and her plan for my health has been very beneficial. When my friend recommended her, because she lost a significant amount of weight under her care, i did not believe she could be that great. I found out that she is just that great. She gets 5 stars from me. Highly recommended.

Response to response:…read more I was trying to give the benefit of the doubt. However, I was explaining that I already agreed that changes needed to be made but everything I said received a slap on the hand from you (exchanging another piece of cheese for part of an avocado, explaining salads hurt my stomach so I cook my veggies and hear that now I'm removing the vitamins, explain I had a cup of red wine and you assume it's a 9 ounce glass. I measured it out and it's actually 2, etc.). Respectfully, your approach seems to suggest that people with certain problems are beneath you, and instead of providing encouragement and enabling change through belief in ones self, you seem to want to shame and compete. I've made quite a few changes now and all I think I needed was positive reinforcement which I just got from my husband. I've lost 10 pounds and it's going slowly but that's ok. My stomach doesn't hurt constantly, and my energy levels are up. I'm just eating clean. I could have used a coach with some expertise but I didn't need to feel shamed. Sorry it didn't work out but perhaps you should consider growing strength and ability in people through encouragement first because they'll never do a thing if they don't believe in themselves (even over you).

A nutritionist/dietitian is not only someone who advises and consults to help with an…read moreindividualized weight loss program. She/he is also a partner to the individual attempting the diet & is important to staying in a positive mindset. Dr. Dadkhah has proven to be such a partner for me in my efforts to lose weight. I am making progress and I am losing weight when I have never been able to do so alone in the past. My clothes are getting bigger & I have had to change to smaller sizes in some things. I have more energy & I feel like I am making progress. I very much look forward to meeting with Dr. Dadkhah. Without our time I don't have anyone to really discuss my diet. My efforts to lose weight are my main focus of life & I think about it all the time. None of my family & friends are overweight so for me this would be a solo journey if not for Dr. Dadkhah. The information she shares with me is always valuable but what's most most helpful for me is to have someone who is willing to talk about nutrition and food. She is enthusiastic in helping me to understand nutrition, physical exercise & what foods work best for my diet. And she patiently answers all my questions. She has even encouraged me to send emails between our meetings to share my questions or concerns so that we can discuss at the next meeting which has been very helpful technique for me. She also shares engaging videos to help me understand why she is encouraging certain things in my diet & why it's important. Meeting with Dr. Dadkhah energizes me and gets me jazzed up to continue to go forward. Whereas when I don't have that time with her then it's harder to stay as excited about dieting plus without our meeting then my weight loss seems more like hard work & as if a chore. I stay on the diet when we don't meet but I don't feel as enthused when doing this alone. I now understand that it helps to have a dietitian who understands where you are & what you are feeling & someone who can offer suggestions. I'm realizing that dieting is an individual journey but one still needs someone to go along the journey with you. Someone who cares about what you are experiencing & wants you to be successful. Someone who tries to help figure out where things got off track if weight loss slows down, & figure out a new plan. For me, Dr. Dadkhah is that person who does all those things for me. I am an introvert but it's nice to have a dietitian where I can go talk about my thoughts, experiences, worries, challenges, setbacks, etc. Without my time with Dr. Dadkhah in this process then the whole diet thing would be so much harder to do. She is able to teach me & advise me but she also listens to me and helps me keep my thoughts on track so I don't follow a negative or wrong way of thinking. She celebrates my good weeks & she keeps me from feeling bad on weeks that are less successful. What I've learned is that dieting is not a cookie cutter deal. No one diet works for everyone. So what you may read on the Internet may not be what works best for you. I have learned to trust that Dr. Dadkhah is helping me to identify what is best for ME, & I have to trust what she suggests rather than go by something I may read on the Internet. She has created a weight loss program that is individualized to me, what works best for me, a program I can stick with. And I am grateful that I found her to help me through this journey of losing weight.
