It seems like pulling teeth from a lion. The receptionist is pleasant enough, but getting approval for repairs takes way too long. I have L&I which at times does go at a slow pace themselves on dishing out these approvals. Having only one tech knowing how to do a particular job doesn't make any sense when you offer your services throughout several counties. A repair shop that deals with L&I and other types of insurance should have people doing daily check ups on the approvals. I call my claim manager exchange pleasantries keep things on an even keel and find out the approval NU Motion had been waiting on took place several weeks prior to my call that I had just made prior to calling L&I. I hang up recall NU Motion get a voice mail leave a pleasant reply informing such. I get a return call stating they just ordered the items I needed. I'm a bit disappointed in the way this panned out, as it's been over a month and I still have no idea when these parts will be in. "We'll give you a call when they get in." Then what? I've been dealing with this type of stuff for over 30 years. I've seen people who are go getter's and get these approvals in a timely manner and I've seen those who totally forget what is what. I guess, I'm asking too much for better service as things we need fixing help us lead more close a "normal life" than for those who are able bodied, and haven't a clue. read more

The incompetence of this company is breathtaking. Something as simple as getting replacement batteries for a power wheelchair takes *months* of phone calls, emails, multiple appointments, missed follow-ups, and reams of unnecessary paperwork and procedure. Their entire system is designed to push paperwork around, slow-walk unnecessary process, set up (and then cancel or miss) multiple useless "evaluation" appointments, and thereby extract the maximum amount of money from insurance companies - rather than actually *help* people who rely on functional medical equipment for their entire lives and livelihood. They bought up all the smaller operators who actually cared and knew how to get things done, and now we all get to suffer the consequences. read more

They should attend to the customers needs over maxing their profits. I put in for a tune up on my chair in Feb 25 , in June they tell me I can get a new chair since it was 5 years. Mind you the tune up they came up with was more than what a new chair would be so my insurance declined it. Then June came and they said they tried to get a new chair then but came back saying it goes by delivery date which is in Aug. Roll back 2 years to a tune up that took just as long to get. I noticed the frame was broke right before I went in and had a friend weld my frame .the tech said he would look into it after he did the tune up and never heard a word. When I went for my evaluation of the chair this year he's like we can try and see if we can warranty it. The manufacturer said that if I came in with it the year earlier they could have done something. Now, im back here to get a tune up since they claim the insurance wouldn't pay for a new chair till after the delivery date so I have to go with a tune up on a frame that has been welded and now has broken again. I tore down my old chair to the frame so they could put all the new and some old parts on it. The tech didn't even consider that so here I am getting a tune up on a broken frame. Purchased an Attendant Control from a different vendor and called NuMotion (Mounlake Terrace, WA office)to have them install it. They refused to install it as I did not buy the Attendant controller thru them. Never mind that we did buy the wheelchair thru them. ($40k plus) Would not recommend. read more

After a year of waiting, we will not be getting John's standing wheelchair. We were so excited. NUMOTION delivered John's chair without the attendant control and never said a word until we got there for the fitting. How do you mess up that bad? The attendant control is for tihe caregiver to maneuver the chair when John gets too tired to drive it himself. It breaks my heart. NuMotion has many negatives remarks of people calling for service and being ignored. I was ignored too and John fell out of his chair twice onto the floor and almost hit his head. We had to call the paramedics. The same Ed, that I dealt with in 2016 when John came home was the same incompentent person that I had to deal with in 2021. John left Kessler and his last residence was a nusing home. The wheelchair was ready and I called Ed to see if John could use the custom made chair in the nursing home. Ed said they had to follow Medicare protocol. A week or so later John told me he wanted to go home. I called Ed and asked him to deliver the chair. I remember what he said word for word.. He said "IF YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING TO TAKE JOHN HOME JUST TO GET THE WHEELCHAIR AND THEN TAKE HIM BACK TO THE NURSING HOME WITH THE CHAIR YOURE MISTAKEN. WE WILL TAKE THE CHAIR BACK. I brought John home on February 16th 2016. I called Ed. He promised me a loaner. John can't sit on his own. Ed knew he needed a chair that tilts because he just custom made him the chair. He never returned my calls. John fell out of his chair twice and almost hit his head. The caregiver and I had to call the paramedics twice to put him back in his chair.John has a TBI, Ed knew the danger and did nothing. read more

I hardly know where to begin to express my unhappiness with this outfit. Their handling of my husband's wheelchair order was unprofessional in the extreme. Ultimately they failed to furnished the promised wheelchair, after going through an entire 2 1/2 month rigamarole of forms, and custom fitting, and "progress" updates. I heard conflicting stories about the actual reason they failed to deliver, both barefaced lies. As a businessperson - a vendor - myself, I can say with certainty that I would be living under a freeway if I treated customers as Numotion does. The right hand does NOT know what the left hand is doing. 2 days before appt to have scooter repaired they call and state they have not even ordered the parts yet when I spoke with them over a month ago to ordr the parts. Parts person said they were ordered and should be here buy our appt. Now as I said 2 days before our scheduled maintenance and parts parts replacement they cancel. As lik several reviews the service I've received has been HORRENDOUS! I've started recording calls since they blatantly lie. I keep records and evidence whenever possible. I 100% rely on my electric wheelchair . They don't care if you are left stranded laying in a bed for a month and a half. They will lie multiple times during that period and th deny it. They record calls so the truth is there. They tend to use insurance as an excuse but with me I have 3 insurances and each time have said I would pay out of pocket. The truth is they use insurance to cover up for untrained and in adept employees. Do not trust your mobility and ultimately your life to this company. read more

My elderly mother had ALS and we were counting on her wheelchair to give her more independence and comfort. Numotion was a nightmare of a year's duration. They measured her so completely incorrectly that she would have had to jump on a trampoline to get into the chair, then the parts were not ordered timely and months later she still didn't have the chair properly fitted. When the parts finally came in they said that although two of the three payments on this 10k chair had been made, that they were not delivering the part and taking the chair back because she went on Hospice. The ALS organization paid the last payment, but unfortunately she passed before she had a chance to use the chair. They really don't care at all. I wish I had read reviews before using this company. read more

I bought batteries that were long life for my wheelchair and asked that they be put in. The Numotion tech put their non-stock, batteries in in and its now seven months later and another company told me the batteries are bad. My insurance company paid three times what I paid for great batteries for cheap, useless ones. UnitedHealthcare uses Numotion and they are simply no good. read more

Avoid this very very slow non responsive company. My manual chair took over 6 months, with constant contact with me and my insurance company. They charged approximately $7,000 for a manual, nothing to special, so called ultra light that weighs 40+ pounds until you take off the wheels and leg rests. I needed an adjustable leg rest, special order just because non std construction, took 3 months, $1,500 plus. Of course insurance discounted $7k to $1.6k and $1.5k to $1.2k approximately. The leg rest broke the 1st day. Contacted company over 4 weeks ago, still no response. Avoid this company, they don't want to sell or service the chairs they sell. PS they don't even make the chairs. this is the 2nd mobility wheelchair I have gotten from these people! The first oneI had "wonderful service for five years. my Jazzy same make and model of my last has been a nightmare! My seat has lost it's shape so I am sitting right sided on it Joy Stick will come off while driving it! Wired's have come loose and hanging! not able to drive this one safely so going up my ramp in my van that I had before I was blessed with this junker has caused me to almost fall of the ramp and once going up the ramp almost drove my chair right through the closed door on the other sid! almost falling off the ramp ruined several tires! called main office for getting help in getting a safe chair to temporarily fixed mine! it has been since April they have been stalling me for fixing my chair! The last excuse my Dr was blamed for not filling out her RX correctly! I called my Dr and asked her to expedite my. RX to these people of which should have been done long ago! At this writing I had to go to the lab for blood work and then an appointment at Doctor's today.Had a terrible time guiding my chair! I had to call and finally complain a few weeks ago On that call. I was promised by head Mgr. of service was going to call me the next morning or that same afternoon, that's two weeks ago and nothing! At 82 years old, I hope that is not the reason for this! They are keeping me from trying to be active. I am making my Dr's appointments Virtual! putting off XRays I need! This is not right! NuMotion is responsible for severely decreasing my young sisters quality of life her last two years. She was 100% reliant on her scooter. She purchased a new one with Medicare from NuMotion. Almost immediately she had issues. It took 6 months of constant calling to get a service technician to come out and diagnose it, except he couldn't. Another 4 months of constant calling and a different technician came out, also unsure of what the issue was, but in the meantime he took one of her armrests which she had to have to function or she'd fall out, (she was in bed during the service because she couldn't be on it while it was being serviced so she didn't realize it was gone until the tech was gone), and he left one of the blinker lights and wires dangling. A couple of months later they came out and took her scooter to their shop to diagnose. She was left with her old scooter that she needed to replace a year and a half before. If the repairs cost more than a new scooter per Medicare, NuMotion was supposed to replace the broken one with a new one. The repairs, of what I don't know because they never fixed it, we're double the cost of a new scooter but they kept billing Medicare and not replacing it. My sister called, and called, and called and called. At first she was promised prompt service. Then the NuMotion front office staff became rude. And, finally a manager called my sister from her home, Not the NuMotion office, and proceeded to scream and yell personal insults, and telling her that she was rude and needed to stop calling and bugging them. My sister was so upset she was crying, And, she died 6 months later. NuMotion is partly to blame. She had difficulty using her old scooter and 2 years after the purchase of a new one from absolutely fraudulent and horrific company, NuMotion, she never had the use of her new scooter, in fact they still had it when she died and they still have it. She was lied to, given the run around and completely disrespected, but they made her feel like it was her problem. When someone is struggling for life and relies on their medical equipment to have any quality of life, the company should practice haste and respect. They're not dealing with injured athletes. What were they thinking? I hold them mostly responsible for the poor quality of life her last two years!!! Do not at any cost use this company!!! read more

Got my electric wheelchair from here. My buddy Kenny delivered it to me eight months ago. I luv it. It's had its fair share of minor repairs and he's done majority of them. He cracks me up and is always up for a funny joke. The employees here's are so nice and friendly. Clark is also great and so is his assistant Kaitlyn. I highly recommend this company for all your mobilty issues. Best part is they take Medicaid and Medicare. read more

My wheelchair broke a front wheel, when I call they tell me that they have to order the parts it took a month and a half plus 2 additional weeks for the technician to come to install them, the day he came he began to disassemble and he told me that one From the screws it does not come out and he does not have the right tool to remove it, I use a dremmell to drill it and he could not do anything either, he takes it because they have to remove it in the workshop, I call on the 3rd day and nobody could tell me the status on the 4th day I called about 4 times and they told me that the technician damaged the frame that you have to order one more the parts that were ordered first because the damage is also bad in service, customer service and the untrained technicians do not recommend it to anyone read more

Absolute WORST Experience!! Stay away! I was horrified by the rudeness, dismissiveness and ineptness of Eli from Numotion. I was appalled by his behavior. He is discriminatory against people with Disabilities and should not be working with the Disabled whatsoever. He is obviously blatantly ignorant when it comes to Disabilities, but the worst part is he was not even interested in learning about it -- which happens to be his job. Go figure. If you are Disabled, NEVER set foot in this business. You are worth So Much More and should, at the very least, be treated as a human. My suggestion is to find used medical equipment online, or purchase it new and use it as a tax deduction for medical expenses or as a required need for a Disabled person. How can I explain what I think and how I feel about this company without writing a novel? Every time that I realize have to deal with Numotion again, my stomach clenches, my teeth grit, and I hope that this time will be different. I've been told to just "not use the armrests so much" on my wheelchair every time they snap off and I've been told by customer service that "it's just an inconvenience" when my wheelchair breaks down and they can't get anybody out to see me for weeks--unless I make so much noise that one of the manager makes an exception. Not to mention the number of scheduling errors. That said, many people who work at Numotion truly care, and/or don't know how to. Numotion does not make it easy for its employees, even its managers, to express and act on compassion. I'm struggling to acknowledge and thank all of the individuals within this branch--individuals who have gone out their way to buffer the bureaucracy and to show true accountability when they have made mistakes (shout-out to Brad who I will always request from now on)--and, to simultaneously tell to Numotion that this does not reflect the larger company, is not absolution, and is not something they can take credit for. The credit goes to individuals within the company who are in some way resisting the company's norms. Numotion does not get to congratulate themselves for these individuals' emotional labor. As much as I would like to complain endlessly about this company and it's rampant failure to meet its "vision," I would like the rest of my review to acknowledge the reality of many people with disabilities in the Seattle area and to propose a "Numotion Survival Guide." Many negative reviews about Numotion (from many clients of different branches) simply say "don't go here" or "pick someplace else." As much as I, and probably most of its clients, would love to go somewhere else for repairs and new aids, Numotion has the monopoly on wheelchair repair and supply companies. It has bought out many local repair and supply companies and there are no other wheelchair or mobility aid companies in or near Seattle that offer the same, let alone better, services than Numotion. This is the same across the country. I would not be surprised if the CEO and other corporate employees know this and use it to their advantage. If you read the "About Us" page between the lines of "we're saving disabled people!", their intention to monopolize is clear. For some of us, Numotion is the only option. I believe that it is not our job to do a paid company's job for them, but very few people in this world are looking out for us. Again, people at Numotion may have our best interest in mind, or think they have it; many of them, it seems, just do not know how. Without further ado, here are the steps I take to try to ensure the best possible outcome whenever I'm forced to deal with Numotion. 1) If you leave a message at the desk asking for a call back, don't expect to actually get a call back. 8:35am is the best time to call (they always seem to open 5 minutes late). Otherwise, waiting on the line is the best way to be addressed. 2) Be as vocal as possible, even if you can't speak aloud. Do not take no for an answer when a desk assistant or technician says they can't do something when you know that they probably can (like change bolts in something that "looks fine" or order an emergency part and deal with insurance later). Write reviews after every appointment--ones on"Numotion Listens" go straight to to a manager. Make faces of disapproval. Straight-up call people out and say, "You're not taking my concerns seriously/I know this wheelchair better than you, now do what I need you to." 3) For transportation, note that if you're coming from outside of a county with wheelchair accessible cabs, they will drive you out to MLT but not cross county lines to bring you back. Snohomish county does not have accessible cabs. 4) Call billing and make a fuss if you're being ripped off. Call or email the manager with as much financial research about actual costs as possible. 5) Cope ahead with a plan, questions, and possible responses you may need to say to reluctant staff when you call or have an appointment. 6) Use your strengths and connections to be an activist. If you're a writer, blow the whistle. If you are a lawyer, get involved either in Numotion or fair access to healthcare. If you work in insurance, find a way to work on company reform. To Numotion: Get your shit together. If you or any of your staff are passive bystanders or complicit to the neglect of your clients and to overt OR subtle discrimination, you are a perpetrator of social irresponsibility. To be "neutral" is to passively allow this injustice to continue; there is no such thing as innocence by neutrality here. My only hope for Numotion is that those working from within have the strength and willpower to tear down the company and rebuild it--responsibly. read more

Numotion is very unresponsive. They refuse to answer questions and require a dr prescription to do as little as raise the caregivers push handles. They are very unhelpful over the telephone, do not bother to look up the customer file before providing unresponsive information. Unfortunately, the physical therapist used their contacts to channel us into their system despite the fact that Medicare was not used to pay for the wheel chair. Don't get your wheelchair through Numotion! Try to be an informed consumer. read more

DON'T BRING YOUR SERVICE ANIMALS THERE! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! If I could I would give them a -100 on their score! (negative 100!) The reason is in 2019 I was going to NuMotion for repairs with my new Service animal when one day my Service animal's leash got caught in the tires of my powerchair so I had to unclip him so he wouldn't strangle. I had already asked 9 times if I could get some help to no avail! Anyhow...I had another leash on my chair so I clipped him on that, but in the meantime one of the "compressor airguns" blew its hose causing a big bang. Star had been trained for big bangs like cars backfiring but not like this one. IT WAS LOUD! It scared Star and he got loose. Nobody tried to help coral him! He finally went into the bathroom and got himself caught between the toilet and wall and really freaked out. He wouldn't even let my caregiver get him (and that is Mom! who generally has treats in her backpack!) and his eyes where 15 inch dinner plate eyes. After finally getting him unstuck from the bathroom (with NO help from anybody at NuMotion) I escorted him outside to calm him down. Finally after 2 hours of calming him down Mountlake Terrace Police (with Animal Control) came with guns drawn which scared him again. it scared me too, but he was more scared than I was. I gave him to my caregiver and placed myself between them and my service animal. I told them that Star was a Washington State registered Service Animal and had gotten scared when the "compressor airgun" blew its cord. That didn't matter to them. He was a vicious dog and he couldn't be a service animal because service animals don't act that way PERIOD. I showed them the Washington State ID card as well as the certificate from the school Star came from and they backed off in a hurry. Seems they had already had dealings with the school already that year. Anyhow...as a result of this incident I got a permanent ban from NuMotion so now when my chair breaks down I have no place to go for repairs or a new chair. As of right now I am on bald tires (all 6 are bald), 2018 batteries, 2010 frame, and 2015 seat cushion. Now that is bad! read more

L Unfortunately UnitedHealthcare forced me to use this company for my wheelchair repairs. I contacted them mid January due to needing my wheelchair repaired and I explained to them at the time that my wheelchair is literally my legs. They did not return my call until the first of May and came out a couple of weeks later to see what parts my chair needed. The parts came in on June 16th and they set an appointment to install them on June 19 between 1 and 4. They then called and changed it to 5:00 first, then 6:00, then to cancel the appointment. At that time they told me they would call me right back to schedule another appointment but never called back so I called them again and they finally called to schedule an appointment for July 7, 2020 from 11:00 to 1:00 but by 2:00 I had not seen or heard from them so I called again and reminded them again that my chair was literally my legs and they promised they would contact the service technician and have him call me immediately to let me know when he would be here. It is now 3:38 and still no word from them. I am seriously doubting I will hear from them again until I call them again. If you have a choice in which mobility company you use I would advise you to stay far away from Numotion. I would also suggest staying far away from UnitedHealthcare Advantage for your insurance needs. read more

They charged my insurance two and one half the price of a new power chair. When trying to find out the reason for these over charges and no heads up the buck is passed from one department to other. This company is incompetent at best. Not only do they ignore my calls, but waited 2 weeks before informing me they needed a prescription for my husbands wheelchair repair. AARRRGH! When my repeated calls went ignored, I finally had to drive from Seattle to Mount Lake Terrace during Fleet Week (a FOUR HOUR round trip) to get their little form, drive it to his doctor and hand deliver it. A week later, I called for an update, and was told they were in the process of ordering the parts. Note: 3 weeks now. Husband was using his manual wheelchair and tipped over in our hallway, getting pretty hurt in the process. When I mentioned this to them, they were unconcerned - not even "is he ok?, or hope he's ok. The people seem nice enough in person, but really, it's now been 4 weeks, a MONTH. I'll have to drive to MLT on a Saturday, to pick up his chair(even tho' they have a delivery service) only God knows how long it will take this time. I HATE THIS COMPANY!!! Avoid this company! My Dr ordered me a motorized wheel chair that included leg lifts because of my mobility & lymphatic issues. I was measured in a regular height chair so when my wheelchair arrived it was too short. By 13 1/2 inches. I told the delivery guy he called the office. They said nothing could be done. Later I found out this wasn't true. The jazzy chair broke down a lot starting in the second year. now nearing my 5th year repair people have came out several times my insurance has paid over $4000+ since feb. my chair still isn't working. The company waits long enough between repair visits the warranty on the installed parts expire. I told them I think they accidentally put a used part on my chair because after the battery & control were replaced. I had a new issue now my chair dies anytime I go up a hill or over 2/3 of a mile. The company totally ignores me and just keeps charging my insurance company more and more. I decided to stop the madness. Numotion says since it took so long for the repair tech to return my insurance needs to pay for a new battery. I told my insurance company to stop paying them. The company knows the battery is running hot but they don't know if it's the battery or the control module they replaced as new but the part looked used. Paint was missing off the face of the dial & it looked used. Worse my insurance company said I was the 3rd person that day to complain about numotion! The insurance company said I should use Hoveround. I wish I had know I had that option 5 years ago. read more

I would have given them no stars if it was possible. I ordered a new wheelchair in June 2016. I am an ESRD patient, so all my care goes through medicare, which takes some time. This was my 2nd wheelchair thru Medicare. The we did the assessment and I expected the approval about 8 weeks from the order. No one in the Nu motion ever called to update me on where in the process the order was, and finally in November I decided to transfer the order (and the assessment inherent within) to my physiatrist rather than my nephrologist and called to inform them that they would be getting a new assessment from a new physician, his name and number. A week after that I received a call from the office that they were unaware of my changing doctors and that it would prolong my order (we are now at the end of November). I explained, that actually, I had called the week before and told them of the switch, and that it shouldn't affect the order in anyway, as it was their assessment that would be done, so as long as a licensed physician was completing it, what as the problem? The order went in, and I knew we would be looking at 8 weeks (give or take) to hear the final approval. THREE MONTHS later, I called them, since I had heard nothing. The person I had been speaking with (on the rare occasion that I called) told me she had "just received" word that my order was not approved (for an ultra light). Which made no sense, as my disability was worse than at my original approval in 05, not better. It made no sense. They gave me absolutely no information on why it was not approved or any suggestions of what to do next. It's now March 2017, and my chair was falling apart, so beacuse i have an incredible medical team and support network, my doctor called Bellevue Healthcare and I got a call to resubmit the order thru them. The assessment was done with my physical therapist on May 3rd. the order was approved on June 23 (by Medicare) and I received the (ultra light) chair on July 11th. The called me at every step to let me know where in the process the order was and how long each step would take. Nu Motion has no business working with people who have special needs. As I said previously, I have a great support system around me, but my concern is for the Nu Motion clients who don't have anyone and are trusting this bunch of frauds to assist them in getting the equipment they need to live.
