The airplane section and the hidden thrift shop were a fun surprise. I'm visiting from Austin, Texas, and will definitely make this a pit stop for our next visit to see the grandparents.

My kids and I spent 3 hours at Taxi and Tide last week Friday. I had to force them to leave. From serving coffee, to dress up, to riding on an airplane (yes they have old airplane seats!), there is something for every kiddo to be interested in. It is clean and the toys are amazing. There are 2 sensory rooms, one of which is for playing with cars and the other one is for playing house and it has a little tent in it. Theres another area to have a dance party and for each kids birthday party, they have a birthday candle game where the birthday kid has to throw (a ball) to blow the candles out, super fun! They also have an option for a balloon drop (always the kids favorite). You tell them what theme your kid wants and they decorate a party room with those decorations (part of the package). All of the modern decor, lots of little things to shop for (by local vendors), a handful of tables to sit at and enjoy food/drink, and a friendly face at the register ready to check you in. I brought both my boys, 3.5 and 1.5 years old, and they had a blast. We booked a slot online ahead of time, which was very easy to do and came with a text & email reminder. When we showed up we paid for our entry ($11/kid for an hour) along with a latte for myself. I could not resist, given the drink options sounds darn good. And let me tell ya, the 'born to be wildberry shaken espresso' is something I need in my regular caffeine rotation!! As for the play area, I thought it was great! Plenty of space for kids of all ages. There were structures to climb, costumes to dress up in, blocks to stack, musical instruments to play, trucks & cars galore, and beyond. Oh and comfy couches for the moms/dads/caretakers to get comfy. All in all, a beautiful and safe place for littles to play! Also awesome: they host workshops, classes, storytimes, and other groups for parents and kids to get involved in. The playground is awesome here…read more Imagination Station is a huge, accessible playground for children of all ages. It's a perfect place for mom or dad to be able to climb around with the kids. There is a separate Tot Lot area that is for kids 2-5, but most of the playground is still accessible even for the littler kids. There are plenty of place to play hide and seek, a train, pirate ship, castle, slides, climbing nets, monkey bars and tunnels. The fun tandem swings are something I have not seen before. The entire play area is covered by the soft foam instead of sand or wood chips. We drove out from Wauwatosa and it was worth the drive.
