I had a hysterectomy in 2021 that left me with a bunch of medical ptsd and many side effects post op that I still experience to this day. I was excited to see so many positive reviews for an obgyn. Thinking to myself maybe I will finally find a doctor who isn't dismissive and actually wants to help me. I was losing my hair, having mood swings, in a span of 1 year I had 5 UTIs and never had a history of having them ever before my hysterectomy. I had joint pain amongst a few other things. So she saw me and claimed that birth control was to be the best option. Took it, didn't work. Contacted her again months later with now ongoing bloating and cramping more often than usual. Did an ultrasound and found my ovaries are the size of someone who is postmenopausal. I'm 37 and was told my hormones shouldn't change much after my hysterectomy. She did a "hormone check" of only my fsh, estrogen, cortisol. All according to her "came back normal". She was "sorry" and passed me on to a naturopath. I know when something is off in my body and I have not felt the same since my hysterectomy. I know she didn't perform the surgery, but I came to this doctor out of complete despair because I have 2 children at home and a husband like many do. I have people who depend on me. I deal with these things that bother me on a daily basis. I am active, I eat right, I have tried supplements. Nothing helped me. To be dismissed in the way that she did knowing what I had been through was not only hurtful, but made me feel despair all over again. Doctors are meant to help patients figure out the problem and treat them.. to investigate. Not be dismissive if they don't find an answer right away after one single blood test. Naturopath doctors aren't cheap, and I really was relying on Dr.Dvorak to help me because of her reputation. I feel absolutely dismissed/neglected and stuck exactly where I was to begin with. If you are having issues that don't have a simple answer and want a doctor who is willing to keep helping and looking until you feel better... You know, what doctors are SUPPOSED to do... don't come here. I hope she reads this and knows how much it hurts living like this every day. Left to figure it out myself. I guess this is the new normal here in American medical care.

As prior patients with CCRM, we anticipated similar care with Overlake, that was not the case. I'm shocked CCRM agreed to let Overlake dilute their brand. Overlake has their own protocols that are DIFFERENT than CCRM, and are not aligned with the standard of care for IVF treatment. Overlake failed to administer a standard medication leading up to one of our attempts, and even after repeated discussions did not admit to the omission. Fertility can be confusing, and it is our experience that fertility clinics may lack the best bedside manner, however a clinic cannot be both challenging to communicate with AND be inattentive to the details of such a precise endeavor. If you are considering Overlake based on their association with CCRM, I would caution to reevaluate.

I would specifically call out Kevin Johson and Josephine Gray as the worst people to be in fertility care. I recently got the news that Kevin is no longer with this clinic, but beware of Josephine Gray and question everything! Even though i was covered by insurance, the clinic made me shell out USD 10,000 for out-of-pocket tests which were not even explained to me while being ordered or when the results came. They will push back on anything you question in their protocol, but it is a template and not tuned to your body. They severely overmedicate and again dont explain why steroids or blood thinners are being given in multiple forms. Most important - they do batch scheduling and are NOT transparent about it so save your time and health and go to another clinic! I had first transfer in Jan 2025 and next in Nov 2025 - both unsuccessful, but the whole year lost without a single change in their protocol made me really question their intent and expertise. STAY AWAY!

The anesthesia will very likely be out of pocket cost, but it was worth every penny! Now for the rest of my review: After experiencing horrendous care at other OBGYN facilities in my more local area, I was first terrified to change to this location for an IUD procedure but I was recommended it by a friend. The doctor called me ahead of my procedure to answer any questions and he was super kind over the phone making me feel so much more comfortable. Day of the procedure there was a bit of a wait as it was filled with appointments. But the waiting room was nice as we all got to watch a Netflix show to pass the time. Once I was called in, the staff were very nice and very efficient to get me ready. And the anesthesiologist was so funny my nerves were completely settled before they put me under. Next I remember being fully dressed and they guided me to a low lit room with comfortable recliners that had such a peaceful ambience. The nurses were kind to answer my questions I had about how the procedure went while I was in that room which was promptly followed by the doctor who did my procedure. She came in to ask how I felt and how I was doing and I just felt an overwhelming sense of care and compassion at this facility that I've never experienced before anywhere else in medical care, I nearly cried from how happy I was. (That could have also been the after effects of the anesthesia but the emotions were still genuine). I was sent home with a little bag of overnight pads and information on my IUD device. My pain levels after never got above a 2/10, and they sent me home with a pain meds prescription for the following few days to address any cramping I might feel. I cannot put into words how thankful I am to this facility, the staff, and the doctors that made my experience here incredible, and comfortable, and safe. I don't care how long of a drive it is for me, I will always only go to this place for OBGYN needs in the future.

When I saw the nurse, she admitted she knew nothing about my previously diagnosed genetic condition which directly impacts my medical care, and brushed me off about it. For the record, my genetic condition has been known to directly impact reproductive health, including leading to early-onset menopause. I explained this during the visit, and while she agreed many of my symptoms could signal perimenopause, she brushed me off that I was "too young" for menopause. I am forty, and again, my genetic condition frequently leads to perimenopause. She booked a series of labs, I went and did the labs at a diagnostic center--so a separate appointment--as well as attended a separate ultrasound, also with a nurse. The NP then called me back and left a message saying that "Everything's normal so I put in a prescription for birth control for you." I had not asked for birth control, and in fact had explained I had a very negative reaction to that birth control. I tried to call back for more information, and she never returned my phone calls. I tried to get my labs, but I couldn't access the patient portal to see my labs because they never created an account for me. I called to try and create an account, and no one answered the phone or returned my calls. In person, everyone was nice. The ultrasound technician was sweet, the NP was nice, however, the post-appointment follow up was absolutely atrocious. The admin was awful, and I was gaslit about my own symptoms and completely brushed off and told I was OK, even though none of my symptoms were resolved nor were they taken care of. I was never given an opportunity to even speak to an MD, despite requesting to do so multiple times. I wound up paying over $500 out of pocket and I can't even access my labs to have them sent to another doctor's office.

After five years, fibroids regrew--which is not uncommon. I went in for imaging every 10 months or…read moreso to keep track of fibroid growth and I'm glad I did. Around the five year mark, they found adenomyosis, which is a common side effect of any gynecological surgery. It appeared on my surgical sites. This isn't the doctor's fault, but it's useful to know and to get imaging for it in the years after surgery. Problem is, when I went back to Dr Winner about a 2nd myomectomy, she encouraged me to do the myomectomy--which could have further increased my Adenomyosis issue. Mine was caused by surgery. The risk of more Adenomyosis was high with another myomectomy. Also, the iron testing she does before surgery is very general--I was anemic (at 24) when her test said my iron was fine. The Adenomyosis was making me anemic (it bizarrely hoards iron in the uterus). At no point did doctor winner advise me that there were other options for treating the Adenomyosis, like HIFU and UAE--both don't require traditional surgery and have great results for fibroids and Adenomyosis while preserving the uterus and eliminating the other health issues from Adenomyosis. This isn't fair to patients. I don't regret my 2020 surgery with Dr. Winner at all, myomectomy was my only choice with a massive fibroid and Winner was 100% the right choice. But when I complained of surgical site pain at my belly button, she didn't inform me that this could be a common side effect of the surgery where bits of endometrial lining could be accidentally left there--causing, essentially, endometriosis. There are interventional radiology treatments that are outpatient for this common side effect. Finding out that crucial context on my conditions had been left out by Dr. Winner in consultations was... not trust building. Dr. Winner should give patients more well rounded advice even if it means they don't choose surgery with her. She's amazing at getting big fibroids out with virtually no scars, doing endo excision, etc., but if you have post surgical issues or adenomyosis or fibroids that are 5-7cm and under, you may want to seek other consultations with interventional radiologists. Ultimately, I traveled to another state to get uterine artery embolization to kill off the fibroids and adenomyosis, which is performed through a single vein. No scars, no need for healing up my abdominal wall, and very little risk of causing more adenomyosis. 1.5 months out, my stomach has shrunk, my inflammation is down, my cycles are cycling and I feel great. I'll go in for cryo treatment of the belly button endo soon. --But I had to do extensive research and find other options all on my own. It would've been the kind thing to do to refer me to other practitioners so I could get the results I needed--elimination of adenomyosis and reducing risk of more adenomyosis sites.
