Tamara was yelling over the phone that we had to pay them first before sending information to insurance, which didn't make sense. She refused multiple times to provide a statement to show us what the payment was for and yelled at us to wait for insurance for more information. Later we found out they overcharged us, but no one said anything until I called about it. Also, it took many calls over several months and speaking to more than 4 different people to try and sort this out and they all took us around and around in circles. I have a better chance of winning the lottery than getting Tamara to answer the phone. Getting anyone to send us an itemized statement of all the charges was like squeezing water out of a rock. Sketchy billing practices. It took over 4 months to work this out and settle this with the insurance because of these incompetent morons.

Long story short it was a great experience. I should mention I've worked in and around hospitals much of my adult life. This facility was well equipped and convenient but it's the people that make or break an organization. Everyone was friendly, professional and helpful. There were two standouts: Cathy was one of the nurses and really went out of her way to make me comfortable. She had me laughing too. Adam was the nurse anesthetist who gave me a nerve block along with the rest of the anesthesia. What can I say, I didn't feel a thing! But he talked me through everything in advance and also afterwards. We talked about his military time where he obviously gained a wealth of experience. I would definitely recommend this facility to family and friends!

I don't want to go into too much details as far as the surgery procedure, but the hospital was in great shape and condition. The nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgeons who attended me were gentle, kind, knowledgeable and comforting. What happened today was absolutely horrendous. Dr. Dhaliwal seemed very nice and knowledgeable, but…read morethe ethics of their staff are questionable. Apart from repeated attempts to get my prior authorization started, causing delays in getting my braces in, I was given absolutely false information today. I called today and was told that my prior authorization "had gone directly to the board when submitted", I said that I thought it was strange considering I had received immediate approval from a different doctor, and was told "that happens". I then asked plainly, "So you have submitted it?", and was told yes without hesitation. I then called my insurance, who couldn't see anything submitted, then while we were talking the insurance representative said, "Wait, it looks like it was just freshly submitted, like within the last minute".  Whether that was negligence or willful misconduct I decided to call and give them one more chance. After telling their office manager the story I was met with the response, "Well she would never do that", followed by defensiveness and excuses. The fact that the first words were not an apology or even a neutral response makes me question this entire practice. This should have never happened in any sort of medical office when dealing with anyone, but to have two negative experiences makes me think this is a cultural problem.

Spoke with Liz who was very gracious and all is well! I appreciate her follow up and consideration.read more

Front desk is kind, but when asked about the packet, and the wait.. they stared with glossed over eyes and cold tone. To be fair, not their fault... Please be mindful, not every patient is the same. Dr. Nelson and his staff are amazing and compassionate. He's extensively experienced, knows what…read morehe's doing. Nurse Charlotte is someone I'd describe as, "Aggressively compassionate." Reminds me of my time in the Navy as a field medic. Same level as my fellow corpsmen. Attentive, respectful, listens to what's going on, as well as diagnosing and evaluating, because a lot of these conditions are, at least initially, by touch-and-feel. Then go for the further diagnoses, to narrow it down. The bottom line is, they aren't a "churn them out as fast as you can," clinic, like larger hospitals like Evergreen (which does have excellent staff as well, they can just get overwhelmed). They do have an on-site surgery ward. They may have to pull in anesthesiology from out-of-house, but they know some of the best, so they pull in the best. My condition was compounded, bilateral Morton's Neuroma, with Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome. It was a nightmare. They literally saved my life. The pain was to the point of suicidal. The benefit I had, was knowing medical terminology, anatomy, and being able discuss everything on, maybe not quite equal terms, but near-to. Dr. Nelson and his staff are a dream-team. When I say they don't, "churn them out as fast as they can," it doesn't mean they waste effort. They're just very experience. Do what needs to be done, without making you wait. Large hospitals, like I said, Evergreen, which is great, can have you on a waiting list for a month, where as Issaquah Foot and Ankle will have you in the next week, or as soon as available. If I were to compare them to anything, it'd be a frontier clinic, where the best go to treat people the best they can, treat their patients on a personal level, without having to deal with an overwhelming client base. As for surgical scheduling. As I mentioned, they bring in anesthesiologists from other clinics, as far away as southern California, so they have to schedule around their schedules. Other hospitals, it can take months. Another reviewer mentioned how they were referred to diagnosis specialists. There's one I went to in Tacoma. Electrical Skeletal-Muscular Diagnosis, wherein, it's like having a car electronics diagnostic given, which shows where there's impedance, or anomalies in the nerves. Nailed it. In any case, they're a little out-of-the-way, not too far, but if you want a team that knows what they're doing, go with them, before having to wait a month just to get an exam. This is, a bit long, as reviews go, I guess, but they're worth it. As to the complications of surgery involving general sedation, of *course* they'll require you to have someone to pick you up. You're pretty out-of-it for awhile after. Driving in those conditions would be dangerous to both yourself, and others, not to mention risking all the work done on the feet afterwards. I suppose there's medical transportation as an option. In my case, I had a friend who drove me from the clinic to home, and I needed some help.

Ask for all potential charges before receiving any care here, even with in network insurance. $490 for a foot brace! I repeat - $494.75 for a small foot brace, I kid you not. I had some pain in my heel lasting for a couple weeks and thought "let's get it checked out". Saw Dr Tim Young for a 15 minute, middle of the road appointment - he recommended stretching more (yes, stretching!) and to wear a foot brace at night. Ok, fine suggestions although pretty basic and to be expected. A few weeks later my bill came and I kid you not this is what was billed by this company: New patient appt: $330 Time for the visit: $180 Ankle brace: $480! Random charge I can't yet determine: $180 If you're counting, that is $1170 for a honest to god 15 min appt, where again the main recommendation was to stretch my calf more. Shameful and appalling. If you choose to visit Issq Foot & Ankle, good luck to you. Your wallet will surely need it

The first podiatrist failed to properly diagnose my foot issue. The second podiatrist (very well-known and highly rated in Issaquah), at least realized that the issue had to do with the sesamoid, but did not fully diagnose the problem, and the orthotics he ordered were junk, despite the high price. They fell apart on me in a couple of months, and when I had them sent back for repair, they lasted 2 weeks. That office charged me over $700 for that junk, and did not properly charge my insurance, leaving me responsible for the entire bill. They negotiated down to $450, but I got in touch with my insurance company myself and got them to pay for it (and their cost was a little over $300 btw). That second doctor also recommended hyaluronic acid, which I'm glad I turned down (there's is little scientific evidence for it for my particular foot issue, and it requires annual re-application). Dr. Jones, on the other hand, immediately diagnose the issue and ordered the best orthotics I've ever had. Most of my sesamoid-related pain is already gone. He also helped me out with plantar fasciitis. This guy knows his stuff! He also properly handled everything with my insurance, and I've never had to wait even a minute to be seen at his office. Actually, life was wonderful when we met, but it quickly went down hill. I went to Dr. Song for dizziness and vertigo last summer. After waiting almost 3 weeks to see her, I was a little thrown off when she spent 5 minutes with me by using a flashlight to look at my eyes. She asked me a couple of questions then told me the reason for my dizziness and vertigo was from my sodium intake. What? I was immediately pissed off and upset, and I let Dr. Song know. She didn't ask me anything about what I eat. If she had, she'd know that I rarely eat processed foods, and I actually look at labels of food almost obsessively. She kept saying, "I can't imagine what you're going through". She referred me to get an MRI, "just in case", but told me to lower my sodium. 10 minutes later, I was on my way out of an appointment I had waited 3 weeks for. I wanted an answer to why I was dizzy and had vertigo. I am otherwise healthy, so assumed my symptoms were due to an inner ear issue. I went to the MRI, but didn't expect what was about to come. They told me I would hear from Dr. Song in a week, unless they had found something. Dr. Song called me the next morning. She said, "yah, um, you have a brain tumor". WTF? And again, "I can't imagine what you're going through" with the same sincerity as before. None. I'll never forget that conversation as long as I live. Nobody wants that call, and I won't bore you with the details other than to say that I am recovering from the serious and painful ordeal of brain surgery, but Dr. Song's bedside manner was absolutely awful at the worst time in my life.
