TL;DR: Dr Golob is a great endocrinologist, but she is genuinely impossible to contact. While I find her level of care to be exceptional, the difficulty of contacting her about appointments, scheduling, or any questions about follow-ups, lab results, or billing makes it difficult for me to recommend her office. --- I was referred to Dr Golob about some concerning lab values last year. I ended up doing three visits, and during each one she was patient, kind, thorough, and had every attribute I would expect of a good doctor. She's a bit old-school, but I found this approach to be genuinely helpful in her analysis. However, as another recent review stated, she is just completely IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of. I have had billing questions for her and have left her no less than 4 phone messages and multiple emails as well, and have not heard a single word back. When I brought this up to her during an appointment last summer, she mentioned they had a new phone system, and maybe that's understandable for a few weeks--but it's now been over eight months of trying to get a hold of her, and she is completely unresponsive. Unfortunately, even though Dr Golob is a great doctor, I cannot recommend her unless you live next door and can just walk over to get in contact with her. read more

DR Golob is an excellent physician. I have had one consultation with her. She was very thorough in her examination and in taking my past history. She was asking all the right questions and understood my condition completelyy. I was very happy with my first visit. However, getting in touch with her is a nightmare. The only option is to call her office and leave a voice message. I have dropped 6-7 messages over the past two weeks but haven't got a call back. Sill trying to sort out issues with my prescription. The pharmacy and my insurance refer me to the Doctor but she can not be contacted. I sent her an email and she replied back that she does not prefer email communication and that I should call her office. Do not know what to do... read more

Dr. Golob is an Endocrinologist and an absolute angel!!! She will sit with you and listen, really listen. She takes all the time she needs and answers all of your questions directly and completely with no frustration or agitation at how many questions you ask. Just received 3 new scary diagnoses that 5 other separate specialists could not diagnose no matter how many expensive and painful tests were done over 5+ years - with no resolution. It turns out that all of my symptoms were easily diagnosed by Dr. Golob and related to each other. None of my other specialists even thought to refer me to an endocrinologist when they gave up on me. I have Central Diabetes Insipidous, Andrenal Insufficiency and a pituitary tumor in my brain. Thank God for Dr. Golob. I would have died at worst and continued to live a medically not worth living life at best if I hadn't found her. So if you are seeing a gastroenterologist about GI issues, an OBGYN for what you think are menopausal issues, a neurologist about drastic short term memory loss, an ophthalmologist for losing peripheral vision and Sjogren's Syndrome (dry eyes and mouth), a rheumatologist with a random Fibromyalgia diagnosis with zero suggestions for treatment - find yourself a good endocrinologist. Dr. Golob is an amazing Doctor. She was the first doctor to figure out what a host of other doctors couldn't. Every visit is like the first visit, as she takes the time to ask questions and go over all the things that were an issue last time, and to do all of the (for me) diabetes related tests. Her assistants are her dogs, but they stay out of the exam room while you are being seen. When I call her, she calls me back promptly and can freely discuss my new issues. That being said, sometimes it is hard to get a hold of her, especially when I was in the hospital a few years ago, as I needed some records. I know she takes many of the insurance carriers, but not Regence, which I wish she would. Currently I am covered under the Multicare system, however I would rather continue to go to Dr. Golob for my endocrinologist needs. read more

Dr. Golob has been taking great care of me for three years now. She spent 80 minutes with me at my first appointment and took the most thorough history I think I've EVER had done. She tested my reflexes, temperature, blood pressure, balance, posture, and all kinds of other things -- and she did it, not a nurse. She doesn't even HAVE a nurse. She says that doing basic vitals herself tells her a lot about a person's overall health. Now that we are "established", she still spends about 30 minutes with me at each appointment. She doesn't rush. If the blood tests she wants don't require special handling of the tubes (like freezing), she will draw them herself; she's good at it, which is amazing. The only other MDs I can think of that are actually accomplished with blood draws are anesthesiologists. She calls when your lab test results come back and she discusses them with you. She doesn't just leave you a message saying "everything's fine" even if everything IS fine. She wants you to understand what the numbers mean, and she's happy to share the actual lab results with you if you want them for your records (that's required by law, but very few doctors OFFER them; usually you have to cajole them out of the front-office staff). If she recommends a medication for a problem you're having, it's open for discussion. She actually spent time with me to discuss possible side effects of a drug she thought I should take. Overall, I am consistently impressed. She's been a doctor for 27 years, so she's been around the block, but she spends time keeping her knowledge up to date; at the same time, she wasn't afraid to admit that she didn't know something and said that she would research it. I have deep respect for that attitude. She also didn't get uppity when I did Internet research... she wanted to consider the information that I brought to her and next time I saw her, we discussed it. She might not be the right doctor for you if you want to see someone for 5 minutes to get a scrip for a miracle cure, but if you've got something complicated going on, she will take the time to tease out the issues with you, and then will help you think through a possible path to getting better. read more

Dr. Golob is the best doctor I had ever seen. First doctor I really trust. What I like about her is that she takes time to help her patients. In my first appointment she spent with me 90 minutes. She asked all the questions possible to figure out what is going on with me. She is very thorough and she asks about every single detail to help diagnose. I love it that she does not have any assistants. It's just you and her, which nowadays is super hard to find. She isn't one of those doctors who put in your symptoms in an Ipad and tells you what's wrong with you based on WebMD. She has plenty of experience and probably saw it all. She listens carefully and takes notes herself. She took 3 pages of my health notes, which was incredible! Dr. Golob is extremely patient and an incredible listener. She discussed medicines with me, told me side effects and explained how they will affect me and also help me in the long run. She explained on how I can take them to minimize side effects. Also, told me she can switch it up if particular meds do not work for me. She follows up as well. We established appointments to see how I am doing and to measure my progress. She diagnosed me with couple of different problems other doctors were not able to, or maybe did not want to dig enough to actually help me. She will do anything in her power to help you and make you feel better. I am getting healthy thanks to Dr. Golob. If you thinking of seeing her, stop thinking and GO! Dr Golob is a good doctor, I have been her patient since past 4 years. She spends thorough amount of time with you and never feels rushed. She tests all sorts of things and makes a thorough diagnosis. She's also very good to talk to and has good bedside manners. However, since past couple years or so, she has moved a few times and does not have a receptionist or office manager. Getting her appointment or even talking to her about blood work takes forever. Her "urgent" line does not really prioritize your call and I had to get my obgyn to prescribe me meds when I ran out of them before an extended trip, which resulted in all sorts of issues because I ended up getting generic that way. Payment is also a pain, you cannot pay online or on phone, we have been trying to reach her since past couple months for paying for our past appointments but to no avail. Please Dr Golob, get an assistant so you could be reasonably available to your patients. I would hate to leave you because of this. read more

I cant seem to get a confirmed appointment. I initiated an appointment online, which the office sent me an email, saying to wait for confirmation 4 days later I am still trying to contact Dr. Deborah Golob's office to confirm appt. I don't think the online appointment system works very well. I have left messages on the voicemail & with the Dr. Obviously she doesn't really want my business. Full disclosure: I have not seen Dr Golob. I gave up trying to. The only way to make appointments is to request them online. I did this three times and every time got confirmed at a different day and time that I could not make. I had to then call and cancel each of these. Dr. Golob found other issues through bloodwork, with symptoms that mimic my Hashimoto's. I'm so excited to do some additional testing and possibly resolve my constant fatigue. My PCP was no help whatsoever. Anyone who is hypothyroid and "in the range" but still has symptoms will understand. Anyone with unresolved symptoms related to hypothyroidism should go see Dr. Golob. Dr Golob puts all the disparate pieces of health together to treat the whole person. I have learned so much about my health just seeing her a couple times because she takes the time to explain how everything relates. She also runs tests that nobody else would think of and found a treatable tumor on my wife's pituitary gland that was causing all sorts of problems we never would have known about without her. As many others have said she is a really good doctor. Takes time to listen. However, its so hard to get hold of her. She doesn't have a receptionist and you end up phone tagging for weeks before maybe getting an appointment. Also it is impossible to pay her bill in a timely fashion as again playing phone tag because she doesn't pick up ( only voicemail). I also send her bill twice in mail and it comes back. It's unfortunate that she doesn't have a proper working office but i need a doctor i can depend on. read more

I was fortunate to have an appointment with Dr. Golob and she was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and thorough. Her office is a bit dated and I don't think she has a receptionist or bookkeeper-when I arrived there was no one there so I waited around for 20 minutes until she emerged from another room with her previous patient, and paying the bill had to be done by mailing in a check--no online payments or anyone available to take a payment by phone. The reason I'm not giving Dr. Golob more stars is the lack of communication: making an appointment is nearly impossible--you have to leave her a voicemail, wait a few days for her to call back and leave you a message with some available dates, then call her voicemail again with the day and time you want, and wait for her to call back and confirm. The last time I tried this she never called back to confirm. I've never called and gotten anything other than a recording, even when I called the "urgent" number which was a paging service that she still didn't respond to. I'd love to be able to see Dr. Golob regularly, but I just don't have the time and patience to play phone tag for 2 weeks in order to get an appointment. read more

Just want to let any looking for an excellent Endocrinologist you can stop your search. Dr. Golob ia a god send. I saw so many Dr.'s before I was referred to her. She carefully listened to all of my complaints. Did some blood work and some testing. At my follow appt she had answers for me, why I was so felling so sick. She diagnosed me with several health conditions and prescribed me the appropriate medications. She provideds me with appropriate follow up care. I feel blessed to have her as one of my Dr.'s. She really listened to all of my complaints, and there were a lot. One of the things that impressed me the most is she has never made me feel rushed like so many Dr,'s do. I would highly recommend my family, friends, or anyone who is in need of an Endocrinologist services to see Dr. Golob. I have been pleased with my care from my very 1st visit and after years of her being my Dr. I remain very pleased. read more
