She's extremely thorough, smart, warm and personable. And while her practice uses the best of technology, the way she practices medicine is reminiscent of a time when there were no HMOs, insurance companies or 15-minute appointment allotments. Yep, Dr. Marshall will actually spend A LOT of time getting to know and treating you, even though that runs counter to maximizing profits! I also appreciate that Dr. Marshall practices holistic medicine; I see it as getting the best of both worlds. She's very knowledgeable about nutrition, acupuncture, naturopathy, physical medicine, and of course, Western medicine. The Eylan Health office is clean, relaxing, organized, and I haven't had any trouble getting appointments. I like using the Eylan Health E-Portal to schedule appointments, upload docs, get lab orders and communicate with Dr. Marshall (I haven't gotten on board with the MyChart system at our other doctors quite yet). Oooh, and the office is right down the street from Mayuri Indian Cuisine, a fantastic choice if you're in the mood for Indian food. But here's my #1 reason for being a Dr. Marshall/Eylan Health fan: I'm actually feeling BETTER after a month of simple changes and Dr. Marshall's treatments! I've been seeing health practitioners and trying every reasonable treatment under the sun [well, that I can actually afford] to deal with my musculoskeletal issues for nearly a decade now. Yet in the past 6 weeks since seeing Dr. Marshall, I've become convinced that my body is actually starting to heal (or at least it's not reacting so poorly to every little stress). Honestly, I didn't expect these kind of results at all, so color me shocked and delighted! I have definitely spent the past year especially working HARD on my health, so I like to think those efforts prepared my body to be receptive to Dr. Marshall's treatments. The treatments I've had have been so gentle that I couldn't imagine how they could benefit me, by the way - there's no spine cracking or painful injections involved! Your mileage may vary, but my best advice is to give Dr. Marshall and whatever she prescribes for you a try because she's an excellent doctor who will truly give your WHOLE health the time, energy, care and attention it deserves. It would be handy if they told first time patients this to avoid circumstances like mine. Details: I had to schedule 2 months in advance for my appointment. I went to OH and couldn't find Dr. Martin's name on the directory, I called her office to ask for the suite number. They explained they are located a few blocks away from the hospital and gave me directions. I told them I needed to drive over, and it could take 10-15 minutes. I CONFIRMED THAT THIS MEANT I WOULD BE LATE, and asked if the timing would still work for the appointment. They said it would be just fine. I RAN to my car, sped over and ran to the desk. After being told to sit and wait a few minutes, a man who never introduced himself, sits down and says that Dr. Martin cannot see me today because I was late. I apologized, explained what happened and that I had some serious health issues for which I needed to be seen (blood clots etc). He said no. I asked if there was anyone who else who could see me (she is in a practice with other doctors), I'd even wait in the lobby for hours if that would help. He says no, that I have to reschedule with the front desk. At the front desk, I was informed that the person scheduled after my appointment did not show, so Dr. Martin was in her office, not with a patient, and should be able to see me. Receptionist returns, after speaking with Dr. Martin , and says she is sorry, but the doctor declined to see me and didn't want to come out of her office to talk to me. I then attempt to reschedule, and am told the wait will be, once again, LONGER than 2 months. Seriously? No thanks. To clarify, if she had other patients and couldn't fit me in that would have been on me. The fact that I was told to come, after I said I would be late, and then have Dr. Martin sit in her office and refuse to come out? I find that extremely unprofessional. Update: Just received a bill for a "missed appointment". SERIOUSLY!?

Dr. Glynn-Thami is great, easy to talk to and down to earth. She has over 20 years of practice and is a really calming influence. She refers you to specialists when it's beyond her area of expertise and doesn't unnecessarily medicate. She is my OB GYN and was my doctor all through the time I was pregnant with my now three year old. Given that she is family practice, is convenient that she also sees our toddler for her well child check-ups. If only Dr. Glynn Thami lived in Portland since we've moved here and struggling finding a doctor here... :(

This is the kind of family care I want. She knows me and my family, makes recommendations and sees trends from regular care vs transactional appointments in walk in clinics. And when I want a referral, and I prefer a female provider, she always has someone to suggest that is a quality provider. Cheryl, her ARNP has relocated for family, and I haven't met the new provider but expect her to carry the same values and care to her clients. I've been seeing Dr. G. for 15 years now, and she's always been super-responsive to me, as has the P.A. who works with her, Cheryl Allen. In fact, although I wouldn't call myself a hypochondriac, I AM super-proactive about health issues, due to some crappy genes in the ol' gene pool. So I call the office and visit whenever a pesky issue arises (for fear it's NOT really just a "pesky" issue). Dr. G. and Cheryl have always been very accessible to me (and my husband, who is also a patient). They've always returned my calls, taken the time to answer my questions, and taken my concerns seriously. I don't know the receptionist well, but she's always been pleasant to me. The nurse I've seen there has always been SUPER nice to me. Are we speaking of the same practice??? Yes, I know Dr. G. is into providing cosmetic procedures (something I will never be into, personally), but she's never even mentioned that stuff to me. She is very into sports, fitness and nutrition, and weight loss, and she's very knowlegeable about these issues (which DO interest me). Dr. Bobovski was recommended to me by a friend at a time when I was very discouraged and…read moredisappointed by recent doctor's visits, and the American prescribe-something-and-get-the-patient-outta-here medical personality in general. In only one visit and one follow-up appointment, which she came into the office on Christmas Eve to give (!!), Dr. Bobovski resolved an allergy/immune issue that four doctors, two allergists and a dermatologist couldn't, over the course of 18 months and several dangerous prescriptions/injections, couldn't. A food allergy test! who'da thunk it? My insurance covered the appointment and blood work, and although I did pay out of pocket for the food allergy panel ($85) and for the vitamins I purchased, I'd take that cash payment anyday over a life of free but questionably safe and clearly ineffective prescriptions that covered up my symptoms but didn't help the problem whatsoever, or teach me anything about my body. If I hadn't taken the "radical" plunge into naturopathy (the quotes are a JOKE), I would have taken steroid injections for goodness knows how long, and never learned about my semi serious food allergies that 23 years of cluelessness turned into an eventual allergy and weakened immune system. Two years after seeing her for the first time, I have never had another allergic reaction, and my gut has re-built itself after 23 years of abuse (poor gut!). Dr. Bobovski has respect for her patients and their sense of their own body. She's open about the benefits and limitations about naturopathy. I've never felt uncomfortable for a second in the waiting area (which has great magazines, btw) or naked in a gown on her table. I have never for a second felt rushed into or out of her office -- the level of focus and devotion to each and every issue or question you have is unreal for a doctor at a busy office. Dr. Bobovski and this lovely facility not only fixed the problem I went there for, but helped me to learn about my body from my body, and utterly rejuvenated my faith in medicine and doctors. I could not offer a higher recommendation for this doctor or the facility! And although I haven't personally seen any of her fellow doctors, I've heard good things.
