Don't post reviews very often, but I feel compelled to warn those who may consider this place to get their nails done. My whole family has been getting their nails done here at this place ever since we've moved. (5 years ago) So this is a review that should hold value. I'm very particular about my nails. First thing, I must say is that I've never enjoyed getting my nails done here. The customer service is poor, there is never the same people there twice(besides the couple that owns and a couple others). Which I find very odd. Every single time I come in there are comments that I find inappropriate and make me feel uncomfortable. They have made comments pertaining to my weight and acne and they have called me "little girl" which I find very annoying. Their nails are average, price average, manicures and pedicures vary due to who you get and what mood they are in. I've also heard people complain about how ruff they are and how much they ignore you when you ask them to be gentle. Which I've experienced as well. So if you are sensitive id be aware. The only reason I come back is because I'm willing to put up with it most the time to get the quality I want for my acrylic nails considering the area it's located there are not really any better options. But this last time I'm considering finding a different establishment. I went in to get my nails done today. I'm a college student so I'm usually on a tight budget and know exactly how much I can spend and my mother was giving me a late birthday present to get my eyebrows waxed along with my nails which I was paying with different cards. So I get my eyebrows waxed and pay for that and then I sit down to get my nails done. After being bugged over and over to try to up sale to "gel polish", which I repeatedly had no interest in, I finish and go to pay for my nails. They the guy tells me me its going to be more than I normally pay due to the fact that I was getting my nails shaped different, even though I said I've gotten them done that way before and it wasn't anymore expensive. So I say okay fine but I know I won't have enough and my mom said that I could charge the remaining balance on her card which was just a few dollars.( keep in mind this is all after I'd already had my nails done just needing polish) so he takes me card and I tell him to charge x amount on one card and x on the other because I wouldn't have enough for the whole price. He took my card and stood over there for id say about 5 minutes and came back and told me that the credit card was declining and then he shows me that he showed declined and I say well I should have money on there and he said "you have no money" and they says we will just charge the whole thing on this the other card that he was only suppose to charge a couple dollars on and I say that's not my card that's my moms and I'm not sure how much it is that she has on there. He says we can just swipe it and if it doesn't then there's no money. I was irritated already, but he swipes the card cause I guess I had no other option and then I sign for my moms card. So I go home and check my account to see why it declined and I had no money and he took out the money for the nails. I ask my mom if they charged her card and they did! So we go over there and try to see what happened. For one they were so rude. Tried saying it was the machine and then were accusing me of throwing the receipt out, then the papers that were supposedly suppose to be for the "transaction" were destroyed cause they were "thrown in the trash" by me...when I never even saw that there was papers. Then he was saying that the bank does that and that it was the machine that said declined and that the refund was on the way. I was never told that the card even went through at all! But it did and then it was refunded and then the guy charged the full amount on my moms card. They were arguing with us and did not apologize for defensive and on top of that said well you should just pay with cash next time! Like its my fault I wanted to use a card.. So basically the guy charged my account and with out telling me, instead telling me my card was just plain declined and I had no money, then supposedly refunded me with out telling me or having me sign anything, allowed me to charge the other card the full amount. read more

I visited here today for my second time while visiting my family. Our first time was great, and it seemed to be the best nail place in town, from the modernness of the salon to the service. Today was another story. My niece and I each got mani/pedis. To be fair, the woman doing my toes, and the young man with the very cool white-dyed hair that did my niece's toes and fingers were great. The problem is the young man with the dark spikey hair that did my fingers. Without him this would have been a 4 star review. I have never in all my life had such a poor mani. Nine of my ten nails near the nail bed were jagged, not rounded; the second coat didn't go as close to the nail bed, making a very visible line; coverage on several nails was poor creating various textures; and he got paint all over my skin. I have never had a professional mani that needed to so extensively use a paintbrush and remover, and even still mistakes remained. When I complained he acted like he had no idea what I was talking about, as did the woman doing my toes, and they asked if I had had black nail polish before (which I have numerous times) as if the paint was why his work was terrible. If this logic made any sense, my toes would be just as bad, which they weren't; they are perfect. He then said the clear coat would fix it. This is preposterous! Clear can't fix a lack of paint or a horrendous job. He took the nail polish off of one and started over, but the second time was just as bad, so I gave up. I decided it would be easier, less time consuming, and higher quality if I fixed them at home myself. What was so irritating is that someone that obviously lacked experience, concern, or a desire to do good work is allowed to do work. His terrible job makes me not want to return. So beware of a young man with spikey dark if you go here, and don't be surprised if it's the worst mani you've ever had. read more

Not sure who actually did my pedicure, but he did a wonderful job. I didn't feel like talking since I was tired, and he just went to work. Seemed like such a happy guy too because every time he hit one of the spots that tickled he laughed or smiled too. I asked for a design didn't say what I wanted, but he chose one for me that looks really cute. Got all the dead skin and my feet look so much better I will be going back again. read more

It was nice when I walked in. Very beautiful place! Love the bath designs on the pedi-chairs. This was my first time in and will be my last. I wanted a pedicure, callus remover, massage and french tip. All I got was the callus removal, 2 drops of lotion on my feet, no massage, and very poorly done toes. She wouldn't remove the paper towels from my toes, so by the time I got home half the white is was rubbed off from the towels. I felt like I was rushed out as soon as I sat down. I've never been so disappointed at a nail salon. Most the employees were sleep in the other chairs around me. read more

This was my first and last time there. I chose the pedi package with extras, like longer massage. I really needed the pedi, as it's warm weather outside again, and figured it was worth the extra money. A regular pedi is already over priced at $24, and I was going to pay $36. Well, the much needed $36 pedi didn't last much longer than the regular $24 and the massage was everything but! She basically ran her hands thought my feet, put warm towels over my calve area and a little pat, pat, pat over them and that was the extra $12! I complained and they ended up charging me only $24. But getting home and checking my feet, I noticed she left a lot of dead skin around my toes. She basically cut my nails and colored them all for the modest price of $24! I could've done that myself and saved the $!!!! read more

My elderly mother and I have always come to this salon because we usually like the staff and the work is good. But sadly they have lost our buisness because they were very unprofessional to my mother and she was very embarrassed and upset at her visit. The owner's wife was incredibly rude and made fun of my mother's nails in front of her with another staff member. They laughed at her and she was so self conscious. Went today to get my first pedicure so excited. Of course til I met the staff the man who did mine was incredibly ruff with my feet and kept messing up on the design then didn't even ask me what color I wanted I ending up leaving with nails so ugly I was embarrassed. Then a had my fingers done there by a different guy and he kept pushing me to use the gel polish which I did not want and he used it anyways so now instead of pink fingernails there plain white and only turn pink when wet I absolutely hate them never going back and wouldn't recommend it!!! read more

My review is specifically for one of the manicurists, Monica. I have been in here several times and had both manicures (regular as well as gel polish) and pedicures and they always do an ok job, but today Monica did a gel french manicure, and she did an outstanding job! She was not only very meticulous about the work and making sure that I was happy every step of the way, she was friendly and warm and she seemed genuinely happy to be there and to be working on my nails. I am upset with the work that was done to me. I got both a manicure and pedicure less than a week ago and one of my acrylic nails came off already. The day of, the nail polish on my toe nails started coming off. I went back to get it fixed and the lady that assisted me was upset with me (how? it was not my fault) and had someone else do it. They did not fix the problem because it was left unfinished. 6 days in, and my acrylic nails are coming off. read more

The atmosphere is very nice and the people are super friendly. The owner is always so cheerful and kind, and he always greets anyone that walks in. So far I'm not impressed. Had an appointment for 3-pedis and 1-fill at 6:30. They had our seats ready and one started right away on one of us... The next about 15-minutes later and I was not seen until 45-minutes after and the other for a fill wasn't tended to till 50-minutes after. All while he continuer to mislead walk-ins that it will be 15-minutes! On top of this an 8-year old boy set up our pedi water... Actual pedi was half-assed. absolutely horrible. I went to go get my nails done with my little sister for her birthday and i asked for MEDIUM length squareish nails. So they sit me down with a guy who i believe names was Tom. And he starts to file and put on the fake nail (the plastic part) and i specially said not TOO short. So when he cuts the plastic part it looks fine, then adds the acrylic, then starts SHAVING AND SHAVING AND SHAVING to the Point where I literally look like I just painted my natural nail that's how short it was. Im a nail biter so my natural nail was really short just to give you perspective on how short he cut them. at this point there was no point in me saying anything because he had already put the acrylic on so I let him finish and he just painted my nail a plain color so I decided to tell the manager that after I specifically told him to not do them too short he still made them extremely short. and she literally makes me pay $15 more then what I had already paid. so that would be literally be $27 plus $15. so I paid $42 f*cking dollars plus them charging me card one dollar. I paid so much money for my single set of nails that didn't even come out that good in the end so to make a long story short don't come here and be expecting to pay a little bit of money for decent nails. in fact you will probably pay an extreme amount of money for wonky nails. absolutely horrendous. read more

On June 1st, 2016, I went to N.T Nails at 1280 W. Henderson Avenue in Porterville, CA. I had wanted to do a gel full set. When I sat down and as he started, I immediately noticed that the station was not clean. It was covered in fingernail dust that was not my own. I also noticed that he had tools lying on the table instead of in disinfectant. I never saw him open a new package for a file either. The acrylic smelled very strong and I was always under the impression that this was normal in a salon. Because he had already started, I decided to go on. He ended up filing my nails down to where they were paper thin in order to stick the tip on and the acrylic. The acrylic was in a black jar that was unlabeled. I assumed this was normal procedure until I went to a manicurist in Visalia, CA today. (6/9/16) When she began to soak off my nails, she noticed that the acrylic on them was sticky and gooey. This is when she told me that the acrylic used on my nails was MMA acrylic and not EMA. It took about an hour and a half in total to remove the acrylic, eventually having to try and scrape and file it off because 100 pure acetone was not working. She informed me that EMA would have come off much sooner and does not end up gooey and sticky like MMA. When my nails were finally uncovered, they were severely damaged. They were discolored in some areas and thin. Upon researching the acrylic, I found out that there were side effects to the poison. One of which was headaches. I have been having unexplained headaches for days now. A few hours after removing the acrylic and I already feel a bit better. I decided to go back to N.T to speak with the owner about it and possibly ask for a refund because my nails were so damaged due to their service. The owner became extremely hostile when I asked to see the ingredients on one of their bottles of acrylic. He told me that all of the bottles say, "Nail Acrylic" on them and that the product was in "O.P.I" bottles. He never said that the product was "O.P.I", just that the liquid was in the "O.P.I" bottles. Again, I asked to read the ingredients and he refused, saying that I did not have a license to see that information. He accused me of being rude to him for asking those questions and stated, "The state board knows that we use MMA...EMA... whatever we use the right product." That statement implied that he was admitting that he used MMA. He told me that I had no idea what I was talking about in regards to what is legal and what is not and accused my new manicurist for being the reason my nails were damaged. He told me then to "bring anyone to the salon" and he doesn't care. I can only hope that my nails recover from this and I am reporting it because I do not want anyone else to have this experience. read more

I went in and got helped by Ashely she did a horrible job, one hand was completely different from my other hand . She wouldn't compare the nails and she kept telling me not to worry when I would tell her to fix them. Yet she still managed to mess them up. She'd laugh at me each time she had to move my hands to the way she wanted them, so she was pretty much making it seem like I was dumb. And I know she was talking about me to her coworkers. So she really frustrated me.I called the next day and spoke to the owner let him know that one hand was completely off. he told me to come in and he'd fix them. I came in and the same girl helped me. I was mad at that point. So I'm telling her all the ones she messed up on and she starts filing them down so she tells me "good?" And I told her well compare them and then she did. After she tells me "I'm not going to paint them" So I tell her it's going to look bad cuz it looks white now and she says "don't worry I'm here." So she starts painting the edges and then I tell her it's going to look bad because you can see the new paint and she replies with "uggghhhh," so I told her I'm telling you it's going to look bad and she continues with "don't worry, I'm here, don't worry" I'm never going back because as soon as I walked out they started talking about me ! They are rude individuals. And there job is really just average. I will take my service some where else read more
