I took my mother to NRAD at 6 Ohio drive for an MRI tonight. I would like to thank the patient who saw we needed help and assisted us. If a patient helped us that doesn't say too much about the staff that night. I understand they have to get their work done and people need results but there is a concept called compassion when working with people. My mom was in so much pain hence the need for an MRI. The workers rushed us out the room. My mom was barely off the table before the tech was pulling the table cover and wiping it down. Now my mom is a tough cookie and for her to cry and call out in pain that was some pain. No compassion at all! it was difficult hearing my mother in pain and not once did they offer me to go in the room with her until another daughter came with her dad and she went in with him.... But I had to ask! By then the testing was over. There was a worker who did come out for the wheel chair (that I asked to use instead of having to transfer my mother twice from the wheel chair to her transport into the car. I asked they did not offer). This was after the said patient helped us out the doors. 6 Ohio workers that worked November 6th in MRI around 5/6 PM learn about compassion. The radiologist was very nice and explained everything clearly. Everyone else is awful. I was there because I had an abnormal mammogram. The woman who did additional views was rude and hurt me so much that I cried. That is unnecessary.. I was not told that the radiologist had to view the images and then decide if he needed more images or I could have the ultrasound. When I was told I needed more images, I asked for another tech who DIDN'T HURT ME. I then waited again without any info and then had the ultrasound that hurt because of the previous mammo torture. When I was told the radiologist was coming on I wanted my husband. I had to yell at them to go and get him since they wouldn't let him back. Not only are the people awful, but the facility is old and worn. NYUlangone rakes in the money and does nothing to improve the satellite facilities. read more

I have been going for my Mammogram to the same place for over 25 years. Seeing Doctor Robin Ehrenpreis who did several biopsies on me. She only take Medicare and my insurance is United Health Medicare Advantage so I cannot see her anymore and getting results immediately from her. Then I was seeing Dr. Kumari who was very nice and also got results from her immediately. Dr. Kumari would not be in the day I went and I was told the Doctor I would be seeing would give me the results. That did not happen so they lied. I also asked that Stacy be my Tech. She was not in that day so another Tech did my Mammogram. When I got home, I got undressed and my hand was full of BLOOD. My husband looked to see where it was coming from and it was coming from right underneath my RIGHT BREAST. There was this RAGGED CUT with LOTS OF BLOOD. On the way home I told my Husband Mel that my RIGHT BREAST was HURTING ME & BURNING. I could not even CLEAN UP THE BLOOD AS THE BURNING WAS HORRIFIC. I called the office at 6 OHIO DRIVE & think the person I spoke to was Helen. Told her what had happened and she said to me I MUST HAVE HAD A CUT THERE. THAT PISSED ME OFF. I would not go for a MAMMOGRAM if I had a cut right under my BREAST. She told me to come back to the office and I said I would be caught in all the rush hour traffic and that I was not going to have my Husband Mel drive me back there. Mel was diagnosed with PARKINSON'S DISEASE and no doctor there . She says to me THEN WHY ARE YOU CALLING. What a stupid question. I told her I wanted my chart noted that this happened. I saw the PA in my OBGYN'S office the next day and she was shocked by what she was seeing. She ordered a medication to put on and said this would take sometime for healing. Used the medication very carefully as it was burning me & about 2 weeks later finally healed. Now Dr. Robin Ehrenpreis used to be the owner of this place until it was taken over by NRAD and being my DOCTOR FOR SO MANY YEARS decided to write a letter. I thought she would like to know what is going on with me. She never replied & that surprised me. Not one person from this office at 2 OHIO DRIVE got in touch with me. I thought that was disgraceful. The Tech had to be moving my BREAST in every which way for me to end up with a JAGGED BLOODY CUT. NO OTHER ANSWER. Nothing like this ever happened to me at this place. So disgusted as I will be so nervous when I have to go for another MAMMOGRAM. This is the only medical office that I was going for an annual routine that I have always seen on time. I have been scheduling my mammogram or sonogram tests in this unit (Room204) for years and never they failed my expectations. I always have the procedure done by my entire lunch hour break (includes my travel time),l ends. I would say it is the best thing that any patient has ever wanting for every medical visit. The service staff is efficient, caring and knowledgeable. The latest addition to their service is a 3D imaging- it is not covered by my insurance so I denied but to others who has family breast history may find this testing helpful. A second opinion from the in-house doctor is requested when the first test was inadequate and unfavorable. Result will be mailed-in. A copy is being send also to your primary doctors. Tip: make sure to request an appointment ahead of time if you want to be seen after office hours. read more

There was a medical secretary/receptionist located in room 104 at 6 Ohio Drive, New Hyde Park NY who was very rude. I was entering the office and there was someone in front of me. The medical receptionist was the only person available and was helping the woman in front of me. I went to use the counter to place my bag, to the left of the medical receptionist, to get out my prescription. As I was doing this, the medical receptionist rudely shouted to me, you cannot stay there due to HIPAA. As I can understand this rule but I was no where near her computer (a few feet away) She rudely and loudly said this twice. Not only did she embarrassed me she should have been much nicer and only needed to tell me once not twice, after all she works for a healthcare provider. read more

Both not as good as garden city one that my doctor actually said don't goto one in lake success because so don't feel they are doing the screening well enough for her liking. They also take forever in sending them into the mychart system. Goto the one on Stewart ave in garden city they have huge turn overs and have pretty fast transcribing. read more

Updating my original review: communication & the patient experience after the visit is poor. 1st problem - a follow up call occurs before you even receive results of the initial screening, to schedule additional imaging requested by the radiologist - without any explanation on why additional imaging is necessary. The response was to call your doctor. This of course will make anyone panic immediately. 2nd problem - they fail to tell you, your insurance only covers 1 visit @ 100%. So if you do additional images after, you could be on the hook for a pretty expensive bill. Luckily I asked before proceeding - if I hadn't asked, they had no intention of communicating this. Next I'm told it's very common for follow up additional images to be requested after - which is a red flag given most insurance only covers the initial screening @ 100% unless an error occurred with the 1st set of images. Given I selected the advanced screening option, this should not be common. Feels like a business practice to EARN EXTRA MONEY at the patients expense. Pretty sure with advanced imaging (exposing yourself to extra radiation), radiologist could tell the same day as the 1st screening, that additional imaging is necessary. Especially, since she/he reviews each photo after every shot to make sure it's clear. Conduct the review the same day & do the additional all in one shot. But, they wouldnt make additional money at your expense that way. read more

Upon arriving, the facility was clean and very nice. Parking was available and easy! Suite 100 (or 101/102, I'm so bad ) it was for HSG test. Checking in and paperwork was easy. Ladies at the front desk were nice. I forgot the doctor's name (probably because I was so Nervous) but I definitely remember my nurses name, SANDY! She made my experience less traumatic for me. She was so sweet and comforting, I really could not ask for a better nurse that day. Nurses are so underappreciated so I like to rave about them when there as awesome as she was! The doctor was very smart and caring as well! He knew i was scared and he took that into consideration and tried to work as quick as possible when performing my HSG test. I am so glad I came here. My wife had breast cancer 25years ago and then she had chemo and radiation and thank god survived that terrible ordeal. Now after years of mammos and ultra sounds my wife was having an implant exchange and the surgeon found something unusual which we found to be cancerous. My wife use to go to Stonybrook for her mammo but most recently they stopped also doing the additional ultra sounds which would of detected the cancer. So low and behold NRAD Dr. Mueller who now is checking my wife is the most passionate doctor and my wife is so happy and comfortable in his care. My wife will no longer go to Stonybrook which she thought was doing the right thing for her but obviously not. Please note any woman who gets a mammo whi also has breast implants must and i say must also get an ultrasound because mammo can not see thru implants ultrsounds can...pls make a note of that ladies. read more

Go to any other NRAD or imaging place. Literally any other because this one was awful. I didn't even get past the front desk, the 3 woman sitting there were so incredibly rude. Patients don't need to be spoken down to while checking it. It's clear they don't like their job or dealing with patients, and guess what they don't have to! Find another job ladies. Do not go to NRAD NYU Langone women's imaging under any circumstances. No results are given at time of appointment... the films are not even checked. I was told I would have the results in 48-72 hours. 96 hours later I received a LETTER stating that the mammogram needed to be repeated for additional views. A letter, not a phone call. A receptionist called later that day to schedule. Again, not a doctor, no explanation. Luckily, my wonderful gynecologist called and explained the situation. This was the absolute worst mammogram experience I have ever had in 20 years of having mammograms. Needless to say, I am not even going back there for the add views. read more

Had as wonderful an experience as one could have getting a breast biopsy. The nurses were all amazing and really put me at ease.

I do not care for NRAD. I used to go to the same doctors when they were Promedica. There was always a doctor on site who gave you the results of your mammogram before you left. Now the procedure is performed. Then you are told that only your prescribing physician will be notified of the results in a few days and to contact that doctor. This mode of operation increases patient anxiety and can allow for mistakes in communication. If the referring physician is away the wait canl be prolonged. As registered nurse for over 40 years this practice does not demonstrate good patient care or service. had to have yearly mamo/sono breast done but was canceled two times due to covid which I had no problem with but when I rescheduled for the second time and showed up, they did not have my name down even though I got the automated phone call two days prior. I was quite upset since I get very nervous going for these tests. Luckily, the manager was on the ball and fit me in. At first they were still not calling my name to get done but she came out of her office and checked on me and made them take me in right away. She was surely doing her job and overseeing everything that was going on there. Sadly, I did not get her name and when I was done she was not around. Excellent facility and staff. Had an MRI with sedation due to severe anxiety and claustrophobia. Nurse and Dr. were so lovely, I think their names are Diane & Dr. Merolla. Facility was clean and modern. Was taken exactly on time. Received a call the day before from the nurse with clear and concise instructions. Felt perfectly fine within 15 minutes of leaving, although you must have a driver with you. My doctor had the results the very next day. I highly recommend this facility. read more

This is going to be one bad review and will show how this corporation does not care for cancer patients. I went to a NRAD Dr named SUSAN PALLESCHI for breast cancer. I brought her all my CDs from Lenox Hill, she seemed very nice and caring... well that changed fast when she ordered more tests. She wanted me to go to an Nrad facility, I went for one test, than told her I would be having the rest of the tests in Manhattan as the travel back and forth was too much on me. Her NRAD office manager named Rita gave me total grief over going to a NY imaging center, I stood my ground and told her I was going and to mail me my CDs and all my scripts. Rita never did mail me anything, and she faxed two scripts only to the NY imaging center not the four needed. My primary care Dr and one to the NY imagining employees spent three days getting the correct scripts which DR PALLESCHI office manager RITA never sent but said she did. This set me back one month. I called Dr Palleschi, but she was nasty to me, and tried to guilt me into using the Nrad facility. So bottom line Nrad and Dr Palleschi are corporations only. I would not consider Dr Palleschi a real Dr as they care nothing for cancer patients the bottom line seems to be money. BTW Dr Palleschi told me one of the tumors was aggressive, so this is the way a CANCER NRAD DR treats someone with aggressive cancer.. making them wait a month than refusing to return any calls. Now I am left finding a new Dr. I have called many breast cancer organizations, they were all in shock at the way I was treated, the imaging place was stunned at the malpractice of Dr Palleschi and the Nrad employe working for Dr Palleschi. If you are even thinking of using Nrad and their doctors, please reconsider you life may be at stake . I am adding info: a few months ago summer 2016 I needed medical records from this doctor and she gave me hell.. she did not want to give me money Medical's...I went through hell to get them. She finally gave them as I called the American Cancer Society and they had a lawyer call me. What doctor does this to anyone? read more

Incredibly disappointed in NRAD, 6 Ohio Drive. Reception is friendly and helpful BUT apparently there aren't any doctor's available to READ mammograms and sonograms. I am almost a week past the day I received my screening and NO results. EVERY other place I have EVER used will produce results in 72 hours TOPS. I changed from Zwanger to NRAD after I had a diagnostic mammo at NRAD last year. I assumed that NRAD's processing of reading mammograms and sonograms had to be on par with every other facility I've ever used. NOT the case. I am told the dr's are inundated with tests to read. REALLY? God forbid a woman has breast cancer OUR test images are sitting around this facility for long periods of time before they're even reviewed. I am so frustrated and anxious all at the same time. I will never use this facility again. This screening is far too important to be told there aren't any drs available to review the screenings us brave women submit to. I don't feel safe going here and will share my experience with every woman I know. It's not my concern that the drs are all away on vacation. How is that the patient's problem??? Are they short on radiologists??? And, why should I be understanding that they are short staffed? They are screening us for breast cancer! There is no sense of urgency or obligation to the women who choose NRAD. Incredibly disappointed! read more

For most women the yearly mammogram can be a very tense experience. Catherine at the front desk is an excellent Receptionist. Every year I go in for my annual Mammogram and she remembers who I am. Just seeing her each year calms my nerves. It is like visiting a long time friend. The techs are very skilled in their field. They never make you feel like it is your fault if they have to re do a picture; and I know it is my fault because I do tense up when the tech is attempting to position me. I am sure they have many results to review and post; however the results are posted to my online chart in a timely manner. I would say it is better to wait an extra day or two to get your results then the radiologist rushing through the review process. read more

Today, my mother had an MRI guided biopsy at NRAD. I'm leaving a 5 star review in regards to the staff, NOT in regards to the machine used for the procedure (which, I am not getting into here). To preface, my mother is not an easy case. I love her to death, but her tolerance for needles/pain is nonexistent. It was truly a team effort today on the part of staff. Donna and Kristine, thank you for easing my mom's worries by explaining the procedure without demeaning her or making her feel like an idiot. She gets rudely dismissed often because of how she reacts to needles/pain, but both of you made her feel comfortable. It will make it a lot easier next time. Also, I forgot the to-go bag Kirstine! Darn ;) Diane and the gentleman that did the IV placement (I wish I asked you your name! The only thing I remember is that we both share a similar backstory of fleeing our respective homelands ;)). Thank you for sharing your stories in an effort to keep my mom calm. It helped so much---I know it was hard to tell based on her shaking so much, but it's true! Also, my mom said that the IV placement was practically painless....something which she has NEVER said about IV placements in the past. Dr. Reiner, although I didn't speak to you much, it was a delight to speak to you...considering the circumstance. Thank you for calming ME down when I found out about the machine. My mom said that she didn't even feel the incisions, so that says a lot about your skill. So yes. I can't say thank you enough to all of you :) read more

I have been going to NRAD for years. I have always found them to be extremely caring and understanding. I always arrive 15 minutes before my schedule time and sign in. I go for a Mamo and Sono. I used to live in Rockaway NY now I am upstate near the Canadian border. I travel 7 1/2 hours once a year and I only trust the technicians and doctors at NRAD as they are very thorough. I will be selling our home upstate and moving to Florida where we have a Condo. We are what I consider "Snow Angels". Gig Went for a MRI today Staff very helpful and polite. Took me in on time and a lady came out to escort me inside and gave me a place to change and lock up all my belongings. Another lady came out to take me to the MRI room which had a brand new open MRI machine. She explained everything to me, what to expect etc. Place is emulate including the restroom. A great experience and my hat goes off to the staff and its owners. Very well done, I recommend if necessary go here. I usually do not write reviews but could not resist. read more

I bring my wife and mother-in-law here for mammograms and sonograms. The staff is excellent. Three years ago one tech found a small tumor in my wife's breast on the sono. She was treated for Stage 2a breast cancer and is fine today. If it weren't for the staff here who knows what would have been (5*). The three stars come from the fact that the average wait is 1.5-2 hours for your procedure. 5 stars for tech staff, 1 star for wait time and office management 5+1=6 for an average of 3 stars. read more

You are never seen when it is your appointment time. First you check in with a woman at door and fill out the same forms you filled out a year ago. Then you check in with a second woman at front desk and fill out more of same forms even though NOTHING has changed since your last visit. After waiting again you are ushered into the inside waiting room where you disrobe. Then you wait again to get into radiology. Once that is done you have to wait a few days for results. Hopefully they get a few good views or you will have to go back and repeat this process all over again...................................... read more
