I am surprised by the bad reviews on this NPS location. We have always managed to find a good deal here, sometimes the deals are hit and miss as far as the discount that is offered but if you shop the items that are on their weekly specials you can often times save 50% or more on some items. The fun thing about NPS is that you never know what you're going to find so it's always an adventure. The one complaint I have is the bathroom situation at this location. They deal with a lot of theft so they have to hold the bathroom key at the front of the store and you have to return it when you are done, that whole process is very painful when you have young children that need to go potty immediately. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by my visit here! I randomly decided to come here, after never being before, and enjoyed it! It's a big store and there is a lot to look at - so come with no time constraints! I don't know if the sales were just due to the Memorial Day holiday, but all books were $2. I got 7 books (all very good authors, good condition, and still had the Target stickers)! All of the clothing was an additional 50% off - which again, I think was for the sale. I would not buy clothes here if they weren't marked 50% off. Their prices are only around $20 off the original prices. Very high priced for a discount store. I did score a pair of brand new alo leggings, with the tags, for $40 with the discount! I was thrilled! They do have a lot - you just have to dig for it. And come when there is a sale! read more

Ozay K. Has no eye contact and seems like she doesn't like her job. I'm asking her questions about return and she shut down turned her head and will not have any communication with me. She looks away and repeats twice I will not discuss this with you I'll call the manager. So here I wait to have a manager talk with me. She was professional and see what my concern was on the receipt and how it's worded. When I checked out a few days ago, I asked what the return policy was and they said it's Store credit if you use a debit card so I felt safe getting my refund because if you use cash or credit you'll be refunded it only states debit is Store credit so I brought that to Alexis attention. Amazing brands and discounts! I love coming to NPS to find name brand clothes, home decor, kitchen items and party decorations. You can find clothes from J.Crew, Banana Republic, Athleta, Adidas, Old Navy etc here! For party decorations and home decor, you can find items from Hobby Lobby, Target and Amazon. Definitely check this place out if you're looking for some quality items for yourself! I wouldn't recommend finding gifts here, as the packaging is usually a little beat up. Also, the shelves are always messy and the items are usually scattered all over the shelf, so don't expect to find stuff without digging! For food items, make sure you check the expiration date, as quite a few items are expired, but might still be good to eat (depending on your expiration date standards!) This NPS in Layton Utah is the more organized store out of all of them most of them they have stuff every where and Its not in any kind of order like they would have at any other store for example like things with like things ! They have things in weird places at the other NPS stores idk if it is because people put them there but they have enuf staff that they could assign people to put merch. in order and the security is great they need that security staff in all stores ! Hey, some of the worst customer service ever experienced. We came in my two children had to use the restroom we were coming to buy luggage and the gout the register wouldn't give us the key to the locked bathroom to use because she says it's door policy that the bathroom closes one hour before the store does, so we just took our business elsewhere. Here's the deal with these types of businesses. You never know what your going to get. It's very hit or miss, if they will have something that's for you. And sometimes the prices are not a good deal so make sure you are price checking online to make sure you really are saving money. A little tip too is to make sure to follow their social media so you know what products have extra sales going on. I almost always exclusively buy the weekly additional sales items. If treasurer hunting isn't your thing I would definitely sit this one out. It's not the most clean or organized store by any means. And the bathrooms have been closed for weeks if not months now so you have to go to the bathroom across the street but the staff has always been so friendly and helpful. Okay there is a lot to unravel in this. Okay so first of this store isn't all bad, if you come on the right day. I have come to this store 5 (?) times and I have found good things that are actually worth that horrendous line twice. Onto the next subject, the line. It is so long and there's always like two people working there. The workers are also pretty slow and take a while to ring you up if you got lots of stuff. Wouldn't be an issue if hey actually used all of their registers. Not sure if I'm correct about this since I've only asked staff for help once but when I did they were unhelpful and didn't help me find what asked for. They gave me the general idea but they still sent me on a hunt for the stuff I wanted. Just don't go here there's better stores unless you're really desperate. read more

it's like any NPS store, you have to search for what you want. However when you go to check out the lines are very long and slow. Two checkers working and one left to Go on Break. I use to shop at this store from 2008- current and also at their warehouse across the street (mostly for tools). Their pricing is NOT competitive anymore. As a matter of fact, most of the items are either over priced (opened or damaged or missing pieces from products) or they are priced right at retail. The food is mostly out dated and their prices don't really reflect that. They have some bargains but, I've found better bargains elsewhere. It's too bad about this store. It was my favorite store for over a decade. The prices started to change back in 2011 (from what I remember) and they are consistently raising their prices and their quality of products sold has decreased. Absolutely terrible. The store has a palpable feeling of dread and disdain. The employees and rude, unhelpful and treat you with disregard. You are treated as if they are graciously allowing you, the scum of the earth, to give them your money in exchange for second hand/returns. First time here at Orem store. Go to west valley store all the time. This store is an old retail box store. It's really big and very nice with upgraded graphics. Something you won't see at west valley. Along with the cleaner retail look is the high prices. Not many if any real deals here. Everything pretty much priced for retail. They have gimmick sales every hour if you happen to be here at the right time for that item to be on sale. Why buy from here and pay full retail??? Goes against what this place should be. Going to avoid this place. I go to NPS to find great bargains on items that are not meant to be full retail. Why buy things at regular prices???? read more

I'm putting a 1 star because of the management in this Orem store I've been a customer for 2 years I've seen a lot. But something has to be done with I think she is a supervisor her name is Susie I witnessed 2 times her treating customer service like they were peasants even told the nice girl at customer service that, she has no reason to be feeling like that, while she was in her face making it clear the girl had no authority over her being rude as heck multiple people around me overheard the confrontation she should have took the somewhere else. I hope she gets fired no one should think there that tough because of a title, I've called corporate countless times and no help the lady is always busy she also smells like cigarettes which is a very disgusting smell she should have some respect with her self. I have been a loyal NPS customer and have found such great things here in the past. It was the perfect place to find deals, and I would go as often as multiple times a week. It was honestly a blessing to be able to find things I needed at cheaper prices. However, Over the last year or so, they have been raising their prices and are no longer a bargain. What is really disappointing about it is that people go out of their way to shop at NPS- and although it is messy, overwhelming, and dirty (the one in west valley), it was worth it for the good deals. Now that they have raised their prices to be comparable to other retail stores, it is not worth it to go out of your way and spend so much time searching through junk in a dirty store to pay the same price you would anywhere else. My last 3 visits have insured there will be no more. The employees are so poorly trained. In November, as I was paying for my purchases, the cashier never spoke to me. She was busy talking with the STORE MANAGER and another employee about going to a movie together. She didn't greet me, didn't say, "Thank you". I guess she did tap the screen, without actually looking at me, to indicate I should sign my name...A few weeks later, I was looking at a glass vase that was marked $20, which was way too pricey. I noticed the same vase in a few different locations and looked at the price again. It was marked $6...I checked a few and on the same shelf, the EXACT same vase had at least 3 different prices. Sure glad I got the cheaper one. Last week, the lines were really long and there was a 3rd checkout open along the back wall. The cashier back there was supposed to be calling people up to his register. I waited and waited and right before it was my turn, the cashier on the back wall stopped calling people up. I walked up to see if he was ready for me when another customer he has apparently winked at or gave a secret signal to...or something walked up too. (Why wasn't the manager pointing people to the next available register when it was so busy?...). I told the cashier I would go after the lady he sent the secret signal to and a different cashier turned and started berating me that there was no line at that register. I just sat my stuff down and left. Last note: On one of the visits, this young STORE MANAGER was walking by me with an affluent looking man who he's was bragging to that he would give him a good price. The manager waved his arm in the air saying, " I run this whole store." Seriously, he may need some further training and his employees need some customer service guidance. read more

This is a pretty cool store with a lot of stuff some what reasonably priced. They have a mixed verity of items ranging from food items to tools and clothing and baby items with a lot of customers. Okee dokee, this is my experience with service for the customer that needs customer service...(spoiler, there's no such thing within the walls of No-Post-Service...)...I bought a glasses case with clip-on sunglasses inside. About $10. Got to my car to find the case was empty. I brought my receipt and empty box to Customer 'Service' and after a lengthy call to a 'manager', I was accused of stealing the glasses, and asked, 'why didn't you open it to see if it had the product inside?' I asked, 'you don't mind customers opening your products to verify the contents?' Was told 'yes', but I should have checked. I am not a thief, and NPS is not a place to shop if you expect to get what you buy, as they are rude, condescending, hypocritical and mean. I will NEVER say a good thing about this FLEA MARKET again...and I SUGGEST YOU open EVERY box you want to buy before you are treated like an idiot and thief, as I was. Worst store ever. Absolutely disgusting. Went there to shop, as i was walking to checkout I was stopped by 2 orem officers and the so called "security" guard. Both me and my friend were in shock because we were stealing, we had clothes hanging on our purse, not in it, we hadn't even left the store, not even looked suspicious because WE WERE NOT STEALING! The officers took us to the back and talked to us, we gave them our statement. Luckily for them being there it was more comfortable, but the store security guard was very uncomfy. The cops took our statement and believed us, they saw the security tapes and saw that we were going to checkout but because the nps store wanted to charge us. While in the back the security officer kept making weird statements about how me and my friend where "little white girls" who can "use our privilege" to get out of stuff. Anyway we left, got a court date and we're banned from it. A couple weeks later in the mail I got a letter saying that the city of orem dropped our charges and the case because they overlooked it and saw that we were innocent. Got a letter in the mail from their lawyers saying I have to pay $250....a joke and a scam. Absolutely disgusting, so disappointing that they are trying to scare me into giving them money even though the court doesn't believe we were stealing. Never go here. There is NO mask mandate in Utah County. Some people cannot wear a mask due to medical conditions. They will not make an exception for this. Very unhappy . If masks worked, then #s would have gone DOWN, NOT UP! wearing a mask has CAUSED MANY people to get sick!!! I have been one! read more
