There are two reasons I came here: 1. It was relatively…read moreclose to a friend I was visiting and the Arboretum which is where I needed to be. 2. They have goats here. Civil Goat is the genre of coffee shops that are secluded from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. So many shops in Austin are located in districts that are busy and buzzing. The original Civil Goat is quiet and peaceful through the trees. Upon arrival, it looks like there's only 3 parking spots, but as you keep driving, there's a whole lot behind the shop for parking. It's not super expansive, but at 9:30 am on a Wednesday, I had no issue finding a spot. They have a large covered patio and a small interior shop. They have QR codes on tables to order on your phone and stand up kiosks for to go orders as well. You can also order inside from the barista, but I got a feeling they just prefer you order from the kiosk... I ordered a lavender latte that was delightful and warm. Very balanced in its flavors. It was served in a cute seafoam mug. My friend ordered a cappuccino that was served in frankly a cuter cup, so I was immediately jealous. I also ordered one of their specialty sandwiches called the Cuerney Sam with bacon, egg, American cheese, hot sauce (Cholula), and honey on a croissant. It was $12 which would have me on here complaining about SandFlation, but it was a hearty size and very well done. Nothing overpowered anything else, so the sandwich lived in harmony. I decided to order a second coffee to go. I got their Coco Capp with brown sugar and coconut syrup. They offer alternative milks of oat and almond free of charge, which is a huge W and something I don't see anywhere. It's a little out of the way for me, so I don't know how soon I'll return, but it made a quality impact on me and was floor raiser for my day. Plus there were goats! RIYL: Very civilized goats. Like "mmm, yes very nice" type of civilized.

I ordered an iced cappuccino with oat milk and one pump of vanilla and two pumps of lavender, it was perfect! My friend ordered a regular cappuccino and it was so cute! The avocado toast with peas could have been salted a bit more. The $4 chia pudding is tiny. There is only one restroom so be ready for a line. Also, it's kind of sad that you can't order from a person only your phone or a kiosk. But overall a good experience.

I wish we had this place in Dallas, it's THAT good…read more I had seen multiple reviews about the brown sugar miso coffee and was so excited to try it, it definitely did not disappoint. Nestled in a cute food truck park, this place is a walk up and go kinda order but your coffee is out fast considering the long line. The brown sugar miso was 10/10 and the vanilla with orange blossom had such a unique flavor. All around this place is a must try.

Once again, Desnudo coffee delivered two delicious beverages. This time I strayed from my usual,…read morebut I still kept the Shoyu butterscotch cause it is quite literally the best coffee you can get in Austin. I may be the current Duke of this location, but there is still a lot for me to try. And dang, I really want one of those really nice tote bags. Before I discuss the coffee order I got this time. I wanted to shout out the customer service for being ridiculously amazing. Maybe it was because I got there super early and right when they opened, but this was the first time I did not see them super stressed and low-key freaking out. I usually walk away with my beverages, but this time I sat down. One of the baristas actually came out and checked on me to see how my drinks were. I found this to be super special. Okay, now onto the dirty chai that I ordered. I asked (when I asked about the floral notes that I was tasting) if they made their own chai in house and the woman told me that they in fact did. She also mentioned that I got the end of the house-made batch so what I was tasting might be different from a normal order. I thought this was quite interesting and this was another unique beverage, despite being a staple at many coffee shops. Would I order it again? Probably not but it was good! Also, with the Shoyu butterscotch, I would stick to the iced version. So thank you Desnudo for another great vibe and for making my one hour round-trip always worth it!

Anderson's Coffee Company is one of the coolest stores I have been to in some time. A friend…read morerecommended this store for coffee. They sell coffee by the pound, likely for those serious coffee lovers who have fancy expensive coffee machines. I was looking for a latte. Bad news...this coffee company sells coffee by the pound not lattes (hence the name). Good news... they sell drip coffee for $2.00 + tax. What a deal! This family owned shop has been roasting beans locally since 1972 and focuses on helping customers brew excellent coffee at home rather than serving coffee drinks on premises. According to the store manager, Mr. Anderson occasionally comes into the store. The selection of freshly roasted beans is rather larger, with store favorites like Guatemala Antiqua, Dark Sumatra and Arabian Mocha cited as most popular. Coffee cost on average $19 per pound. In addition to coffee, the store carries loose leaf teas, mugs, candy, cards, coffee pot sweaters, brewing equipment, and small other gift items, to name just a few items. I was totally and completely enamored with this store. They had so many trinkets and interesting items, you literally could peruse for hours. Captivating environment...Loved it...

The staff has changed over the years but I've always looked forward to the friendly interactions and perusing the large variety of equipment, confections and mugs. It's also a great place to buy gifts. The store has barely changed except for new products even though it's been in the same location since 1972. And, the coffee is the best!
