On top of that, it seemed like each employee had completely different information. We had visited the store about two weeks before adopting our puppy and spoke with a male employee (I believe his name was Adam), who gave us information that was completely different from what we were later told. This included information about the breed she was, what mill she came from, the puppy kit we would need to purchase from the store, and which vaccines she had already received. I will never recommend this place. This store needs to be reported and shut down

You can tell the staff genuinely cares about pets and customer experience. The store itself is very welcoming and thoughtfully put together. It honestly gave the ambiance of a Whole Foods-type store, but for pets -- clean, aesthetically pleasing, and filled with unique products. Side note: they have the most adorable selection of greeting cards, plus little freebies like stickers and lollipops for humans lol. I also loved their pet grooming setup. From the outside, it almost looks like a visual window display, but I believe it's fully operational. Such a cute touch that adds to the overall atmosphere.

Then I just cycle and come back for the goodies-everything looked super healthy and happy. A very nice selection of tanks and supplies as well but I wanted Red Sea and almost no one carries locally. When I arrived at the grooming salon, a young woman at the desk asked me for proof of his rabies vaccine. She didn't introduce herself or wear a name tag. She walked around the desk, put a lead around Bear's neck, then stooped down and grabbed his tail. She didn't speak to him or even extend her hand for him to sniff. She started pulling hair from his matted tail, saying "this will have to be shaved". She stood quickly and said "I can't groom your dog, he bit me. You'll have to take him somewhere else." I apologized and asked if she was okay, but she had disappeared into the salon. I didn't see the bite occur, or the wound, but I honestly don't believe he ever would have done that, if she had made any attempt whatsoever to be friendly with him. I'm shocked that someone who works with pets daily, could have so little knowledge of animal behavior. Based on this experience, I won't return to the store and certainly do not recommend the grooming service at PetSmart's Bloomfield location. There are so many better options available.
