If I could give this place negative 100 stars, I would. This business should not be open. I trusted this store to sell me a healthy kitten, and instead I was sold a severely sick animal that was misrepresented in both age and health. Within days of bringing her home, she became ill, and now I am facing the heartbreaking reality that she may not survive. On top of that, my veterinarian confirmed that she is not even the age they told me she was. I was told she was significantly older, but she is actually no more than around 8 weeks old. This means they either did not know basic information about the animal they were selling or knowingly misrepresented her age to make a sale -- both of which are completely unacceptable. I have already spent over $800 in veterinary bills, and the costs continue to climb -- all because I was sold a kitten who was already infected. Feline panleukopenia has a known incubation period, which makes it clear this did not happen after I got her. She came from this store already sick. This has been one of the most emotionally devastating and stressful experiences I have ever gone through. Instead of enjoying a new pet, I am: * Constantly monitoring her condition * Cleaning up severe diarrhea and illness * Hoping she makes it through each day On top of that, I now have to worry about my other cat being exposed to this extremely contagious virus. No responsible business should ever put someone in a position where they fear for the life of multiple pets because of negligence. This situation is: * Absurd * Negligent * Completely unacceptable No ethical business should be selling animals in this condition. The fact that this happened raises serious concerns about how these animals are treated and cared for before they are sold. I am heartbroken, financially drained, and beyond frustrated. When I arrived at the grooming salon, a young woman at the desk asked me for proof of his rabies vaccine. She didn't introduce herself or wear a name tag. She walked around the desk, put a lead around Bear's neck, then stooped down and grabbed his tail. She didn't speak to him or even extend her hand for him to sniff. She started pulling hair from his matted tail, saying "this will have to be shaved". She stood quickly and said "I can't groom your dog, he bit me. You'll have to take him somewhere else." I apologized and asked if she was okay, but she had disappeared into the salon. I didn't see the bite occur, or the wound, but I honestly don't believe he ever would have done that, if she had made any attempt whatsoever to be friendly with him. I'm shocked that someone who works with pets daily, could have so little knowledge of animal behavior. Based on this experience, I won't return to the store and certainly do not recommend the grooming service at PetSmart's Bloomfield location. There are so many better options available.
