There's a large bar, some indoor seating, and even a covered outdoor patio! Happy that airport chips & salsa were only $4.50, but the salsas could use a bit more flavor (even a little salt or more acid). Still a great snack for when your flight is delayed haha. The ceviche was 4/5, good but also lacked a little flavor. Also very small amount, but $24 for ceviche from an airport I'm happy with. I'll definitely return! Who knew a delayed flight could turn into such a pleasant experience?! While waiting for my delayed flight home out of San Diego's beautiful new Terminal 1, I decided to make the best of the extra time and pull up a seat at the bar at Novecientos Grados by Tony Hawk. What a cool place! First off, the name! "Novecientos Grados" translates to "900 Degrees" in English, a tribute to Tony Hawk's legendary 900-degree skateboard trick. If you're familiar with skateboarding history, you'll immediately appreciate the connection. And if you're not, take a look around! The restaurant's design incorporates sweeping skateboard half-pipe-inspired features overhead, along with Tony Hawk artwork and plenty of televisions for catching a game. Such a clever concept, especially here in San Diego! I wasn't particularly hungry, having enjoyed a substantial brunch at Cocina 35 earlier, but I was definitely ready for a cocktail! I asked about flavored vodkas, which they didn't really have, so we improvised. I ordered Tito's vodka with soda water and a splash of mango purée. Let me tell you, that combination was absolutely delicious! Light, refreshing, fruity, and exactly what I was looking for. Sometimes the best cocktails aren't even on the menu...! Although I didn't order food, I had a great view of several dishes coming out of the kitchen and being served to other guests. Everything looked fantastic, and the aromas were certainly tempting! Their menu features everything from tacos and enchiladas to burgers, burritos, and other Mexican-inspired favorites. I'll definitely have to arrive hungry next time! The atmosphere was lively without feeling overwhelming, with a spacious wraparound bar, plenty of seating, and large windows bringing in natural light. It's a great place to relax, enjoy a drink, watch some sports, and forget for a little while that you're stuck waiting for an airplane. Bottom line: If you find yourself flying through San Diego's new Terminal 1, especially with some time to spare, stop by Novecientos Grados. Grab a cocktail, admire the creative design, and enjoy a little piece of San Diego skateboarding history. (It's also a lot cheaper than Cutwater Bar & Restaurant near gate 107...!) Wanted to visit since it's Tony Hawk's restaurant but the service just wasn't up to par. Took forever for our server to come out, gave me fries instead of a salad (but did correct it afterwards, drinks were okay, and my bf saw one of the workers eat a chip off a plate she was about to put out. Like others said, hit the Taco Stand instead. They def have better, more authentic Mexican food and you may get better service also. Got the Turkey Club and it was decent. Quesadilla was pretty good. Honestly was not impressed. We came here during a long wait during our flight and was kindly greeted. After sitting down we began to order and my friend who is gluten free asked if the fries were gluten free. The server responded saying "I don't know, I'm not gluten free, so couldn't tell you". She didn't offer to ask the chef, she just said "probably". Obviously my friend had to decline this item because probably isn't good enough for someone who has a gluten allergy. The food was not super great, my quesadilla was pretty soggy. It was filling however. It was relatively quiet, and after we got our check we asked to split the check into 3 to which the server was very hesitant. We offered to tell her everything we got to help, but she said she was very busy (it wasn't busy at all). Eventually she agreed but overall not the best experience. It's a Tony Hawk restaurant, and the decor has a strong skateboard theme I had the Chorizo Benedict, it was delicious and plentiful. I couldn't finish it, but my husband jumped in to save the day. Eggs cooked perfectly. Hubby had the traditional breakfast, and he was happy, but not fond of the potatoes. Our daughter had the Yogurt Parfait. She loved it, and they packed up the rest for her, so she had it on the plane. Negative, they do not have many choices, and they do not have decaf coffee. My husband asked for jam for his bread, and they didn't carry that either. Staff was great, and it was a wonderful way to spend our time before boarding our flight. read more

Really confused and wary with seeing any reviews above 3 stars for this place, to be honest. Let's get a few things out of the way: is it expensive? Yes, it's airport food. So 20 bucks for every dish seems on par with normal airport food. We got a quesadilla (9 dollars) and the 900 degree fries (9 dollars). Please note that adding meat is an additional 8 dollars for both. If you're going to the airport and want quantity then this isn't a bad choice as both plates were large. With that said they were both okay. I wouldn't necessarily call this food authentically Latin though which confused me as I know the chef is supposed to be a pillar of that. It felt very Americanized. Service was fast. We came here when it was raining but they have an outdoor area which is nice as San Diego weather normally permits that! read more

Had a long layover at San Diego airport and the lounge was inaccessible so we came across Novecientos Grados by Tony Hawk close to our gate and decided to give it a try. We were seated immediately in the bustling restaurant which has indoor and patio dining. Our waiter who was very busy greeted us immediately and we were served with water and menus. The menu is all Mexican dining with a large variety of options. What I liked about the menu is they explained all the dishes and the sauces available with the varying degrees of heat. I appreciate that because you don't always get that in a Mexican food restaurant. The guacamole looked especially delicious so we ordered that as an appetizer and as main course decided to try the carnitas tacos, three tacos served with chips and salsas. You get a choice of three sauces and we chose the mild to be on the safe side. We also ordered a margarita and a Dos XX's. Our drinks were quickly served and the guacamole followed. It was very, very good and the mild tomatilla salsa was a perfect compliment. I will mention that we were offered extra chips as we dined but we declined as we were served plenty. When the tacos came we were surprised because they were huge and packed full of tender succulent carnitas meat. It was topped with another generous portion of guacamole and your choice of salsa. As I mentioned we took the mild Chipotle salsa which was great with the chips as well. The three tacos were more than enough to fill us up so we declined ordering any more food but we did enjoy another drink. The servers were attentive, the managers came by a couple of times, even refilling our drink order for us while the server was busy elsewhere. Everyone was friendly, welcoming us and saying goodbye. The food is excellent and plentiful and very delicious. Give it a try. Expect it to be a little pricey as it's in a airport but believe me I have no complaints with this establishment, only praise. read more

We rarely sit down for a meal at the airport, but since our flight was delayed in SD, we scoped out a few spots and settled for Novecientos Grados, mainly drawn in by the cool halfpipes and skateboard decor.
