MAKE THE CALL YOU WANT REGRET. What can I say the best phone call that I ever made. Called to make and appointment and to ask the fees and how that works. With the previous experiences and scams I didn't wanted to get ripped off. Nice enough Ryan was super nice and gave me some tips to trouble shoot the problem so if it was a small thing that I could fix it my self. So he figured the problem and knew I couldn't fix it my self he came that evening on his way home without an appointment fixed it. Where do you get that dedication anymore. Our central A/C system went out last week and the company that installed the unit is no longer in business. I checked around and called Novak Mechanical. Ryan came out and found the fan in the furnace was burnt out. He ordered a replacement and Robert came out and installed it. Unfortunately that didn't fix the problem as Robert discovered the controller circuit board was shorting out the fan motor. Ryan recommended we replace the entire furnace as it would cost a few hundred dollars more than to repair our old one which was 18 years old. Ryan was able to squeeze us in right before a heat wave hit. The guys that came out for the install were very courteous, cleaned up everything and worked fast. They finished almost 3 hours early! I am definitely going to use Ryan and his team again. I liked how he called me back when he said he would, and explained the pros and cons of the options I had and the rationale behind his recommendations. I mean he gave me tips (like changing the temperature sensor and then the circuit board) of things to do to avoid having to buy a new furnace from him! Who does that?!?! While riding out this week's record heat wave in my air-conditioned home, I was reminded of how lucky I was to get referred to Ryan last summer. The older roof-mounted combo unit on my house was a mess (shoddy installation by previous owners, leaking water with rain, cracked condensation pan, etc.). I already knew it wasn't worth trying to fix, yet I had a terrible time getting anyone reliable to replace it for me. Before I found Ryan, several other companies wasted weeks of my time while we suffered in sweltering heat (no-shows, last minute requests to reschedule, or never bothering to send me a bid when they realized the job would require a crane and be too much of a hassle). Ryan showed up when he said he would, and I had a very fair bid in my hand by the next day. He was able to schedule the job very quickly, and the whole process went more smoothly than I ever expected. Excellent customer service. I called Novak after another company quoted an outrageous price and misdiagnosed the problem with my A/C. Ryan came out and correctly diagnosed the problem which turned out to be simple. I asked how much it would cost if the issue really was what the other company had said, and his quote was much more reasonable. He had to order the part and he sent one of his techs out to actually fix, but he called me personally afterwards to follow-up and make sure everything was good. I've worked with Ryan Novak, owner of Novak Mechanical for 8 years. He was referred by my plumber, also a great guy. I had a problem with my 13 year old furnace not turning on. Ryan could have easily told me I needed a new furnace and I wouldn't have known the difference. But it was just a loose wire he fixed in 5 minutes for a low fee. When I finally needed a new furnace in 2011 I could trust his judgement. He uses quality materials and guarantees his work. In 2015 we decided we needed air conditioning. We got 3 quotes from Costco, Sears and Ryan. One of the others said we needed a new larger furnace in order to get A/C and their quote was 3 times Ryan's quote. The other said we needed a large A/C which would have been twice Ryan's quote. We had Ryan do the work and the A/C is just fine. We didn't need a larger system. Ryan and his workers are a pleasure to work with. I recommend them without reservation. read more
