DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I had a pickup scheduled for between 3pm and 8pm (that is ridiculous enough). By 8:40 they hadn't shown up. I called and the machine said to leave a message and I'd hear back within 10 minutes. A half hour later I never heard back, so I called again. Another half hour and no call back. I sold my car directly to Novak Auto and the whole process went off without a hitch. I used to live down the block so I am very familiar with their yard. They are a local business that has been at the same location under the same ownership since the 70's. I have to laugh at some of the wild comments, not only is it the cleanest Recycling yard that I have ever been too but the owners are on site and I have found them to be friendly and helpful with any automotive questions I have ever had whether I was spending $$ there or not. Their equipment is up to date and they go out of their way to help customer's (from what I've seen most are actually their friends) finding parts and services. By the way they are a top rated Penske Truck Rental dealer as well and always gave me the best discounts on local and one-way rentals. So I sold my van through pedal.com so I set the pick up on Sunday for a Thursday pickup. I texted for a smaller window they didn't text back I called they said they'll try, then I call later they say maybe Thursday Friday maybe Monday. So I wait Monday 11pm get a driver wasn't prepared for a Burt vehicle then I call Tuesday for when will they pick it up they said they will not honor the agreement with peddle and will only take the truck for free, at this point I feel like there scamming me or not wanting to deal with it whatever. I have never used this company but I would not trust them to tow a car. I just had the unfortunate experience of driving on the same road as one of their tow trucks. The truck had a car on the back and was towing another. The driver was driving like he was at the wheel of a sports car, he was weaving in and out of traffic at a very high rate of speed. The car he was towing almost hit 3 cars, mine included, when the driver repeatedly changed lanes doing 45-50 mph in a 30mph zone. He was cutting drivers off in spaces that the truck itself could fit but not the car being towed. It was as if he didn't know or care he was towing a vehicle. The car in front of me literally had to move into the on coming lane to avoid being hit. The driver just stared straight ahead, even with people honking at him. He clearly knew what he was doing and didn't care. Just want to warn people not to use their towing unless they want their car damaged. read more

Booked a Penske moving truck via their website a week in advance for a local move and confirmed a day prior. When I arrived in the morning I was told they did not have my truck and I will have to drive to Amityville or Far Rockaway to get one. My move was all within a three mile radius of the Oceanside location and I did not have the time to drive all over Long Island and Queens to maybe get a truck. I was extremely disappointed and upset and the attitude behind the dirty disgusting counter was to bad and f-off. The irony of this event is Penske's motto on their website which reads, "We Guarantee your truck will be ready on the date, time and LOCATION you booked for." I'm not making this up, check for yourself. PS Wound up going to UHaul in Rockville Centre and got a truck right away and service was outstanding. Thanks UHaul. read more

I'm disgusted and disappointed with Novak Auto Corp  First they said they were coming st 6pm I got another phone call saying 8pm   He finally shows up at 9:30 which I was willing to wait but once he started to talk to me so disrespectful. He told me to come outside and give him the paperwork. I said no you're to conduct business at my front door before you do anything  I was treated so disgustingly I feel bullied by him.  He hooked up my car before even coming to my front door to discuss the transaction and he spoke nasty to me continuously throughout the transaction  He told me he didn't have change to pay me and was going to leave without paying me  I told him to take my car off you're not leaving with my car without paying first  He walked away from me and DID NOT UN HOOK MY CAR I called their office and spoke with Jim    Jim told the clerk to pay me $140 instead of $130 bc Jim said the clerk should have gotten change before he came and come to my door conducted the transaction  As I tried to again conduct the transaction  The clerk threw down on my my registration and refused to pick it up and walked away I again spoke with Jim on how this clerk is so unprofessional and disrespectful and not remorseful.  Jim said he had no control what the clerk says or does  Jim said to call back and speak with his boss  Again dealing with this clerk  I ended up signing bc it's 9:30pm he threw down my money on the porch and walked away snickering  I called again trying to speak with the owner and I got Jim I told him I spoke to him yesterday Jim said I never spoke to him I said I wanted to speak with the owner and he said I had to hurry up and tell him what I'm calling about and  After hearing that and from what I was put through yesterday I hung up They don't care about their customers   They don't have any respect.
