Gina has impecable taste in patio design, waterline tile, marker tile and plaster choices. Albert is quite possibly the hardest worker I've ever seen. He is always on the job site and is the first to correct any minor issues. His entire team busted their butts to start our pool in the dead of winter (even out here in snow) to get us swimming in April. The…read moreservice tech left a checklist after only 1 of 3 visits I was invoiced for, and it was not as complete/comprehensive as other pool companies so I'm not sure what was done. I had dropped off a water sample before I left but never got the results back. The storm on May 16 of this year caused 3 of my neighbors pine trees to fall on my pool causing considerable damage to the cover although we weren't sure if there was damage to the actual pool sides/bottom. When I called the office to come out, assess damage, and give me a price estimate to clean out the pool, I was told '"it's our busy season, but we can try to get out there next week." Today, Aug. 4, a young man from Total Pools came out to assess damage. (I had spoken to 6 pool companies, 2 came out to the site to assess, 1 performed the cleanout and measured/quoted a price for a new cover.)

The project manager didn't show up when subcontractors were around, resulting in so much dirt being removed that we had to pay ADDITIONAL money to get dirt delivered. There was no attempt to even do a rough grade, just left sand and rock exposed to the elements resulting in the pavers to shift. 2. The install of the electrical equipment was put in facing the fence. My husband had to ask if we were expected to cut a hole in the fence to access it before they comprehended why it was an issue. 3. The filter was installed too close to the house, and it is inaccessible for proper cleaning and maintenance, even by a professional pool service company. When I brought it up I was told to completely decouple it from the piping to access it. Yeah, that's not how it's supposed to work. They then said the professional pool service company "just wasn't a good one" without even knowing which company it was. 4. The electric heater and wiring installed keeps tripping. When I brought that up, they just didn't respond. This was after they installed a gas heater knowing we didn't have gas to the house and that it was in the install notes to put in an electric heater. Don't worry, we got an extra $4,000 bill for that. 5. Following the installation of the filter and booster pump, they left it turned on and left running without the filter being engaged. When I reached out, they talked to me like I was an idiot until I took a video and sent it to them of the extremely loud metal on metal grinding noise that was coming from the booster. Looks like we get to replace that now. We are now working with a lawyer as they refuse to respond to us.

Find someone else to build your pool if you want good communication and follow through. I also have little confidence the drainage pipe from the auto cover channel will ever be fixed. Without a doubt, the worst experience I've ever had dealing with a contractor.

The team came to look at it and discovered that the wall and skimmer were corroded and needed to be replaced. They got right to fixing it during scorching heat. They do such a great job closing the pool that is it always ready to use within 24 hours of opening in the spring - clear water and perfectly balanced chemicals. This year, I unfortunately had mice eat through some of the elements for my pool heater and Dima came out to troubleshoot and fix quickly. He even cleaned out the mess the mice had made and took steps to deter them from coming back.
