Awesome service from these guys! Very knowledgeable on their craft. Maybe the whole process seamless. Of course during these times they have an ever rotating selection but they have a nice inventory. I will be making my future purchases as well. read more

I live in MD, so went to Nova Armory to buy some 15rd mags. I ordered the mags online, to be shipped and pickup in the store. Now it's been over TWO months later and no item in sight. The order still shows "processing". I emailed and called the store a several times and I was only able to get through with the call once and was told that they have some issue with the website and they are fixing it and the order will be here soon. I ended up disputing the charge on my credit card, since they don't respond to my emails and I need to talk to the manager regarding the refund. Very disappointed, I will be shopping elsewhere. read more

Tried buying ammo online, it was a nightmare. I think this place gets by because they essentially have no competition in the beltway.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great to have a gun store in an otherwise leftist county.

Take the info about doing private transfers off your website if you're not doing them anymore. We drove from Maryland to VA only to find out that "due to covid" they aren't doing them. read more

This is long, but it's worth reading - one of the worst consumer service experiences of my entire life, and unfortunately still not resolved! I went in to Nova Armory on March 15 this year. I was told by a friend to go to another store, in Leesburg, but decided to go to Nova to support an Arlington business. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, just as all the other reviews describe. Their stock was already totally wiped out because of the coronavirus run, but the guy who helped me out suggested that I order online. He said anything that showed up as in stock online would be in the store in about a week. So I went home and ordered online, a firearm and some ammo. Two days later I got a call from a Nova employee letting me know that the ammo was out of stock. He was friendly and apologetic and I told him that it was OK, I could wait until it back in stock and didn't need a refund. On March 23, so a bit over a week after I made my order, I hadn't heard anything, so I sent an email. No response. The next day I called and it went straight to vm. A friend in the firearms business counselled me to be patient, as everyone was totally swamped. I emailed again, and got a response this time, saying it had not arrived, and would likely be in by the end of the week (7-10 business days, not what I had been told in the store, but whatever, crazy times, and shippers were all very busy). Fine. I emailed again on March 30, no response again, so on March 31, or in other words two full weeks after my order, I made an appointment for April 2. I went over there on the 2nd and was told in wasn't in yet, and that they would call when it was in. On April 5th, I contacted a dealer in Florida and purchased a replacement gun. It was in my hands, via The Trophy Room, an FFL holder in Alexandria, 24 hours later. That's not a typo - 24 hours. At this point, Nova Armory had had my money for three whole weeks. Accordingly, I emailed them on April 7 and said it clearly wasn't coming in, and that I would like a refund. No skin off their noses, presumably, since guns are flying off the shelves right now, right? I got a call that afternoon from yet another totally friendly and totally helpful employee, letting me know that it had actually come in on March 26 (so they had been sitting on it for two weeks). I was polite, but said I wanted a refund. He said he would talk to the owner. I didn't hear anything so I emailed again on the 9th, and got a response from the guy who had called me, saying that the owner would be in touch soon. Well guess what? It's April 17th now, and I haven't heard anything. They have had my money, over $700, for over a month. I liked these guys when I went in, they have a real passion for what they are doing, which is nice, but they clearly have no compunction whatsoever about just ignoring their customers and keeping their money if they get too busy or it otherwise suits their needs. I'm planning to file in small claims soon. What a shame - it really is a friendly and welcoming place, but they just don't have their act together. read more

I bought a handgun from this store a few months back and everything went smoothly so I decided to buy a shotgun. This was March 8 before everyone stared going nuts over the coronavirus. The manager told me it would take 5-10 business days. Long story short - two months later and still no gun. I have stage 4 cancer and asked if they could refund via PayPal or Venmo because I have a compromised immune system. These guys could not care less. I've never written a review of a store in my life but these guys are just awful. There making tons of money right now so they simply don't care. If something goes wrong with your order, don't expect any help trying to figure it out. Spend your money where people are kind. I know I will never shop here again. read more

Informative, great social media presence, and attentive staff (email and phone). Haven't had a bad interaction at all. Prices reflect current demand of the market, but they're a great option to start your search for self/home defense, target shooting, and maintenance of gear. read more

Great guys. Bought my ammo for both my 0.38 and 9mm. Clean place. Only small issue I had was that they only had limited supply of certain ammo and price is a little high, but given the area, expected. read more

Good, honest, and helpful shop! It's important to have local gun shops that promote safe firearm ownership.

Small shop, wonderful service. I did an FFL transfer through here. Very helpful, will just order through these guys in the future. Gunsmith on site is also a plus. Very knowledgeable and helpful and provided a great referral when scope of work was too big. As a gun owner on Arlington, glad we have a small and good shop. read more

I bought two Glocks from Nova Armory and specialized ammunition for other firearms. Great customer service and prices.

Looking for a .22L and saw it online and it said in store came in asked and not there, don't really mind but a 30min drive out here was a waste of time. Update your inventory read more

Very convenient location with lots of parking (big lot in the back & lots of off street parking). The staff was very attentive, helpful & super friendly. They are very LE/Military & responsible citizen carry friendly l. The transfer paperwork was easy to complete with the ATF form being electronic. The prices are reasonable and this is a great place to come by, checkout the inventory and chat with the staff. Thanks so much for the great experience! read more

Tried to do a Silencer Shop transfer today using the kiosk. The software is a mess and lost my fingerprints. I had to keep chasing the guy across the store for help, while he kept going and helping other people. I don't think they make any money on my using the kiosk, so they don't want to bother to stay with me. I finally gave up and told Silencer Shop their software is horrible and to find me another store to go to. That will be this weekend's adventure. We'll see. read more

THIS PLACE IS SMALL AND BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. When you enter this "store" it does not feel welcoming and feels like your being judged and just another customer they want to have buy something and get out of there. IF I could give it no stars I would. This place has horrible costumer service and people who just don't know what there doing. Reason one-this store is the smallest gun store you can go to. if I could comepare this place inventory a ice cream truck has more options and space then NOVA ARMORY.the glock representative does not know common guns laws and is just offering you things you don't want and try's to make you buy them. read more

What a wonderful shop. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The store owner Shawn goes to long lengths to keep his customers happy. This store is known for accommodating all sort of nuance needs and sets the standard for customer service and care. They are known for committing to deals that cause a loss in profit in order to make customers happy. I witnessed the store owner sell something below cost because he promised a certain deal. In a market where shops are restricted and under attack by local laws NOVA Armory does their absolute best to distinguish themselves as the leader in the industry. 10/10 read more

I should preface that they only firearms dealer in Arlington. Not as much of a hands on selection compared to Vienna Arsenal, and their prices for ammo are expensive, but they do offer minor gun smithing on certain days and the staff are helpful. read more

I really want to like this place. They are local, very friendly, and the store is very nice. However, I think they tend to hire people for their personality rather than their product knowledge. I have been by the store twice, and each time I ask a product question I get deferred to another employee, who in turn has to ask another employee. This might be by design. There is typically a lot of attitude when you are dealing with the typical gun store/range employee. But when I ask for a specific product it shouldn't take two resources to identify what I'm even asking about. When they do find the guys who know things, they are on-point and terrific, but I hate having to work my way to them. I will keep giving them my business but I really hope that in the future I can modify this post and applaud the expertise of the whole team. read more

STAY AWAY! As others have said there is something going on with this business during the pandemic. I ordered a handgun on April 4, 2020 after making an appointment using their online method. They called me and I gave my credit card info for the purchase. I was told it would take 7-10 days for the weapon to arrive at their location. April 14 I email them for a status and get a response saying they are waiting on shipping. I email again on April 21 asking again for a status or a refund, and they again saying waiting on shipping. On May 8 I email them asking for a refund since it has now been over 5 weeks, but they never answer the email. May 12 I make another appointment to try and get a refund but they never call. I then contacted an attorney and he advised me to go through my credit card company to dispute the charge because the merchandise was never received. I got my money refunded by my credit card company. I was lucky I used a credit card and not debit card for the purchase, because of the consumer protections. Stay away from this business. Maybe they will improve after the pandemic, but for now do not waste your time or money. read more

Happy to support my local gun shop. There is now only one full service gun shop inside the beltway so I try to give them all my business to keep them around. Very nice guys. I sometimes go in the store just to talk guns and chat. Sometimes it is a bit crowded, but just speak up and they will get to you and give you the same level of support. Happy to help beginners and expert. I will say you can find guns a bit cheaper at a big online retailer, but I'm happy to have a shop in my neighborhood. They will also do cleanings or minor gunsmithing like trigger or scope installs for newbies who don't know how, or in my case don't have time. read more

Not only can you not beat Nova Armory for convenience but you cannot beat it for safety, sales and customer service. This VETERAN owned, operated and staffed business focuses on the needs of the customer and not just for the sales of a firearm. The owner and his staff ensure that their customers are leaving with the right and safe choice for them. They ensure complete compliance with county, state and federal law. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and ensures that customers are making their purchase in a comfortable environment that is CDC COVID compliant where safety is number one. Additionally, NOVA Armory will go above and beyond to find what you are looking for. Not only can they acquire (within reason) what you are looking for but they give you range of options based on your requirements. If you are in the market for a firearm, training or just browsing...look no further than NOVA Armory. read more

My wife, who is in the US Army Military went to their building. Apparently for a facial. To Nilou. She is still learning the English language. Lots of empty spots. However she parked in the one that said Nova. Thinking it was the right spot for facial. They towed her. $160. Lots of empty spots everywhere. Then they disrespected my wife by calling her a liar. Please buy your guns elsewhere. John H. These guys were rude to me even after I called them. Go 2nd Amendment! Just go elsewhere to do it!!! If I get one person to go elsewhere. I'm happy. I am overprotective of wife because she risks her life for our freedom. I wouldn't be upset. Except the whole parking lot was practically empty. read more

First impressions last. Went in to buy PMAG's and ended up waiting 25 minutes before I was helped to check out. I was waiting behind a gentleman who was apparently waiting to pick up his firearm, and the cashier was just diddling on his computer, I assumed he was finalizing some kind of paperwork until the manager asked if I was being helped yet. Only then did the cashier greet me and ask he could be of any help. I'm all for waiting if you're busy with someone else, but if you just ignore the other people in line so you can look up random crap I'm pissed. Not impressed with this business. read more

Fantastic service! I talked to Juan and Mike. They got me a great deal on the firearm I wanted, at a better price than other shops in the area! And their location, right across from Bon Chon, is super convenient. FYI, there is parking in the back. No need to pay for street parking. Whether you're a first time buyer, never shot a firearm before in your life, liberal, conservative, whatever, come on by, they're super friendly, they'll get you set up. read more

Best staff, quick service, easy appointments, wide selection its my go to for everything.

For the most part, I think this is a good business, but not as good as the reviews. After reading all them, I find that the majority of 5 star reviews sound almost identical. As with any other set of reviews, you should ask yourself if large numbers of people, on their own, would go through the effort to log into Yelp, find where to place a critique, write two or three short, non-specific sentences about a business, then give it the highest rating. If you can't accept that premise, then you must believe that the business owner or some other person or group is packing the ratings. read more

I ordered a clip for a hand gun. I had to go out of town for 2 wks. The clip came in and when I went to pick it up,they wanted a storage fee.The fee is 5$ a day, I would pay almost double for the clip plus what I paid for the clip up front.I told him to keep it and walk out. I Do not recommend this gun shop for anything. Their guns are overpriced and watch ordering anything from them. Their hours are 4pm to 8 pm. So watch storage. read more

Took my dad (from out of town) into the store to see what all the fuss was about. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and whatever they don't have, they'll order for you. Excited to have NOVA Armory as a neighbor. read more

Knowledgeable and helpful staff make visiting NOVA Armory a pleasant experience.

Thank goodness for this place! I visited the store after several conversations over the phone about availability of AR lowers. The store is immaculate and staffed by extremely helpful employees. Most specialty stores, gun shop or not, usually have workers who are pretentious yet have no idea what they are talking about. Not the case with NOVA Armory. They listened to my needs and recommended relevant products. I was with my 4 year old son , and instead of ignoring him like I would have expected, they talked to him and gave him a sticker. I came only for a lower, but I bought more items because I wanted to reward a great company operating in a less than (gun) friendly neighborhood. I wish this company all the best. I'll be back for my next build. read more

Calvin and the other guys at Nova Armory were amazing. Great customer service!!!

Flat out fantastic. I emailed one night with few questions and got responses within an hour of them opening up the shop. That alone earned a visit. I showed up and was greeted immediately. They were courteous and helpful. Sometimes in a fun shop you feel like you're being treated suspiciously from the moment you want in. Not these guys. Everyone who came in after was treated well. Bought a gun from them and, as promised, it arrived 4 business days later. They walked me completely through its operation and set up the laser. After the first shooting they offered to gave me bring it in and they'll show me how to properly clean it. Bottom line - I am a customer for life!!!! read more

Went here after not even realizing it had opened. Very nice store. Some good prices. Veteran employees. The guys here were super nice, after seeing my pregnant wife sitting at their little waiting table (which the wife appreciated them having) they asked us about when the baby was due and the sex. Then one of the guys says hold on and runs to the back and brings back a daisy red ryder. He then goes babies first rifle and GIVES it to us . Sometimes you can find things a tiny bit cheaper online but I'm telling you spend the extra $5 and support your local business. These guys seemed to have some really good prices and the shop was a very cool layout. Go check it out read more

I purchased a handgun from nova online on April 8th 2020. The process was easy and my payment accepted. I read and understood that because of the Wuhan virus there were delays and I could expect to wait a week before pickup. That was fine. Exactly a week passed when I received a call that it was ready for pickup, so I made an appointment a few days later at 3:40 to pick up the firearm. This is where things went south. Appointments were made via 20 minute intervals, 3:20, 3:40, 4:00 etc. I arrived early 3:15. Waited for an hour in line. No real big deal that I was seen at 4:15 but when I was admitted the salesman, likely manager / owner, has me fill out paperwork and I finished and continued waiting another 15 minutes while he made small talk with someone else. Then I was instructed to put my name and zip in the kiosk to begin another form. I wasn't able to begin because they had entered incorrectly my name spelling and wrong zip. Another 10 minutes passed. Another salesman asked where I purchased the firearm. I said here, online.... this was becoming frustrating as the staff was running behind and seemed incompetent. Final straw was when salesman informed me the state police website for back round checks had crashed and I'd have to come back the next day. Ridiculous. They easily accepted my money a week earlier so why not have the back round check done then? I was only there to pick up what I already paid for and completely wasted over an hour waiting plus drive there and back. Will not be returning there for business. read more
