This place is nice and the service is desirable; however, once I paid for a package deal, I haven't been able to book an appointment without going through a waitlist. When I call, the employee doesn't even know what I am calling for and immediately tells me "there is a waitlist".... How does the employee know there is a waitlist if I haven't told them any other information but my name... It is frustrating because after I paid thousands for these packages, LAST YEAR, I haven't been able to come to the spa...I had to go to Dorado... another city, to at least get one of the services I paid for. I am not satisfied, I am disappointed... and I am not planning to pay for any package deal after this experience. Not great. Had booked massage, manicure and pedicure. They told me it was back to back. Instead, they forgot me in the wait room after the massage and made me wait an hour between services. They also forgot to take me to the steam shower so by the time they remembered, it was time for the pedicure I had waited an hour for. I had to cancel the manicure because I didn't have time given the 1 hour extra wait. For the price, just go to a hotel spa. Not worth it. read more

Hi! Jennifer did a great job with my hair and the body scrub as far as her efforts. My blowout was really awesome. Honestly I don't blame her more the spa in general because she was likely rushed. They told me the body glow would be a salt scrub rinse then body wrap. Well there was no wrap 150+ $ later. I mentioned on the way out the other girl was like oh "there wasn't?" I requested an appointment for a couple's massage via their website etc. someone gets back to me via email saying they have an opening for a 30 minute couple massage at 4pm And they asked me to call them. So this was at around 2:20pm. I started Calling them at 2:24pm until 3:40p. EVERY TIME someone answered they put me on hold for 5-10 mins. So I said you know what I should head there. I got there they wanna tell me "sorry ma'am our system is down we dont have an appointment for you" I showed this woman my email, asked her why didn't they just tell me that on the phone when I kept calling. When your husband ask you "What do you want for our anniversary?" usually he is not listening. So after several years of saying "I want a gift certificate for a day spa" he paid attention and surprised me with a full day at Nouvelle D'Spa. Relaxing, comfortable, great place to get pampered and get all your impurities out your body, with tea, oatmeal cookies, and lemonade included. Also you get to walk around with a white robe and your tush al aire libre. Loved the experience! Great service! Moved from NYC where spas are plenty. Not so much here in PR. So when I first arrived and tried the service (Day off gift message), I loved it!!! But then I was told by regular clientele that tipping was not customary. Living in NYC where I had to tip the deli person, I thought that it was grand. Well, grand for me but not so much for the workers. For you see, they expect to be tipped. Well, needless to say, I pissed off the masseuse (who also did my mani pedi) who expected tips. During the last visit, right before Thanksgiving, I went for another spa treatment. This time our chubby masseuse decided to get even. She set up the water for my pedicure by another girl as she was leaving. She looked at me and wished me a "great ending to your day." The new manicurist (long braided blond hair--I think totally new), did not realize THE WATER WAS SCALDING! Hefty "forgot" to mention to the new girl that the temp of the water was dangerously HOT. Well, I took it in stride since I already had made a fool of myself earlier by being rude and impatient. Typical NYker. I didn't say anything. Thankfully, the girl didn't push my foot in.. I stopped once I realized without having to put my foot in the water that it was boiling hot. Well, that could've been all an accident. But now, the manager Patricia won't return my messages. I decided to have the massages turned into gift certificates. Every time I called she was out. This is since Thanksgiving!! I decided to give another location a try. I am still waiting for their return call regarding scheduling a day off again. I am guessing I'll have to get myself a lawyer. STAY AWAY!! Addendum: after Patricia's boss spoke to me at length that no way in hell I was going to get my money back, I decided to give it another shot. What the hell, my body was sore. Well, I made an appointment but made sure it wasn't with the previous masseuse/mani pedi person. And I must admit that it was very pleasant. Meh. Massage was below average. Asked for deep tissue, and it was not even close, even though they charged me more for it. However, if you like swedish and do not care about pressure, this place is nice. The decor and spa are very relaxing and pretty, and the snacks in the little waiting area are yummy. Staff is friendly. Also seemed kinda high priced, but I am not really sure of the market in San Juan for spas. I would not go here again, but would recommend to others. read more

My husband and I went here during our vacation and the atmosphere is really nice and so was the staff. However the deep tissue massage we received were awful. The pressure was more like a weak Swedish and when they found knots in my back she did no thumb work to even attempt fix the knots. I came here last Saturday for a pedicure with paraffin wax, and I honestly expected more than what I got. The pedicure wasn't all that great, it seemed like the girl didn't know what she was doing. The paraffin treatment was terrible, she put very little paraffin, and for very short amount of time. Its already been a week and my feet look like they havent been pedicured in a year. Overpriced, worse mani/pedi and parking is a nightmare. Ok, so i needed mani/pedi and went to this place because it was near where I was staying. The facilities look nice and the place is legit so i called and they were able to schedule me for a 2pm appt on a Saturday. They have a pool, sauna and steam room included with all treatments, so they suggest to arrive an hr earlier to be able to use the facilities. 1st the ac is pumping with no ventilation in the nail area. The pool is freezing and the sauna was not even working, when i got to the tiny steam room i was relieved, since it seamed as it was the only room working properly. By the time i got to the nails, the girl did not seemed to know what she was doing. No bottom coat, only top coat, so expect your nails to chip by the time you get home. They dont cut the cuticles properly and leave dry skin on your pedi. The one star is for the staff & ambiance. read more

I normally don't write reviews because I'm not a difficult customer to please but this experience was absurd and I had to say something. My partner and I went there for my birthday and booked a DEEP TISSUE massage. When we arrived; don't get me wrong the ambiance was very nice and the staff seem pretty nice as well. The valet service was a great and convenient service as well because there is absolutely no parking spots due to the area of businesses. We went in the locker room to change and then we were guided to our room. They only had a towel on the massage table to lay under. Both therapists seem very inexperienced because they couldn't even give us simple instructions on which way to lay on the massage table. The towel barely covered our bodies which means we were shivering during the massage. They used this oil to massage which was literally nothing but oil. And don't get me started on this so called DEEP TISSUE which was not even near a Swedish massage. We had to instruct the therapists to apply more pressure which they didn't comprehend. I could've rubbed some massage oil on my body myself. We cut the massage short because it became annoying; only 20 minutes. We complained to the front desk and they accommodated us by not charging my card and offering to return the next business day for a much better experience. I accepted. The next day I received a call from my bank saying that my account was flagged due to them charging my card on three attempts of the total amount of $600. Better yet; this was my 4th day in Puerto Rico and I was never called about any previous transactions. That was a fraudulent transaction and experience. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I wish they had a BELOW ZERO star because one star is too much of a compliment. I surprised my girlfriend for a trip to Puerto Rico for her birthday. We came here for a DEEP TISSUE message. Our appointment was a set time we got their 30min early to prepare for us to change our clothes into our robes. We were in the sitting area for well over 45min waiting for our "MESSAGE THERAPISTS" to take us in the back for our "90" minute Deep tissue message. After being so apologetic for the long wait, she escorted us to our "PRIVATE COUPLES ONLY ROOM" (which was an oversized use to be bathroom with shower heads still attached to the wall, ceiling looks like it wanted to Fall on top of our heads.) the 2 "THERAPISTS" were arguing among themselves on how we should lay.1 said back, the other said stomach. We end up on our backs. They didn't ask if we were allergic/any paper work for existing accident/ past surgeries. This is were it gets more interesting the message begins with SLAPING GREASE AND OIL on my skin (as if she was going to fry chicken on my skin and reuse the oil for a later occasion) instead of messaging the muscle/tissue she wants to caress and tickle me. After telling her to Go Deeper and slower she does the opposite. After 20 min, we couldn't take it anymore. The manager said she's not going to charge us due to the experience. I ask for an itemized receipt she said she didn't have none (which was very strange ( you have a computer and printer, just print the receipt stating you guys didn't charge my credit card) moving forward The next day my credit card company called me and told me that "NOUVELLE D'SPA TRYED to charge my card 3 times $110, $218 and $329. I was nervous to make a reservation here since it only had a handful of Yelp reviews. Let's remedy that! For our honeymoon getaway at the nearby Ritz Carlton, I decided to book spa treatments in town. Nouvelle d'Spa's Delicious and Relaxing Package for two included a steam room session, 55 minute massage, back exfoliation and full manicures. The price? $170 before tip and far less than half of what we would have spent at Spa Botanico on-site at the resort just a few miles away. The staff is lovely and accommodating. You're encouraged to dip into a chilly wading pool after the steam room, which I found uncomfortable. I caught a chill for the rest of our appointment but still thoroughly enjoyed myself. The changing rooms are in a communal area near the steam room and wading pool and it seemed possible that you might run into someone of the opposite sex, undressed, but our hostess seemed to time our appointment carefully to ensure privacy. The massages were out of this world in a dimly lit room with relaxing music. Our nail technicians were warm and kind, offering suggestions for nearby restaurants to try during our stay. If you want the complimentary wine or champagne, be sure to ask for it as they seem to had forgotten ours until we were about to leave. I would go again in a heartbeat. read more
