I live different months in MN & PA states & here, using the Y pool swim to ease joints/back issues…read more This is no doubt the best Y w/its clean, modern locker/shower facilities, kid's pool with slides. But, there's only one 4 lanes lap pool so I have no idea why they had to "rest/close" the pool from 1-4pm weekdays. In both MN & PA, lap pool is opened all day 5:15am-8pm weekdays. If lap pool was used for swim team or life guard training, they'd open the kid's pool for lap swim. In Philly, there is one pool with no kids' pool. So certain hours, 2-3 lanes of pool are reserved for kids lesson/ fam swim, leaving 2 lanes for lap swim. But the pool is in use fr 5:15 till closing at 8 weekdays or 6/ 4pm weekends, except for Friday 2.5 hrs of pool cleaning. They tried to maximize the pool's usage to benefit members. Why such a waste of resources here in Avon, IN? I saw that the staff were just hanging out, doing nothing near the pool while members were not allowed 1-4pm to use the pool nor the sauna. It would be the best time for some ppl to swim/sauna in these 3 wasted hours. I hope that the management of Hendricks Y will reconsider their pool hours and not waste such a wonderful resource for its community. I will upgrade this to a 5 star if this is changed for the better (or even 6; ).

They offer only 2 classes but the classes meet on time, and the instructors are helpful. Compared to my previously mentioned club, where classes would not meet whenever the instructors don't feel like coming, which is a pain (club name starts with a "M". Go figure) Staff is great. There is no locker room so I have to leave my stuff in the cubbies. Which is actually okay I don't have much trouble with it. I guess the only real problem with this place is thy do not have the lying leg curl machine. I usually have to use the cable station and a machine as substitution. Other than that. It's great.

The biggest issue I had was that the coach did not go through the workout with us beforehand. My friend and I found ourselves confused at times about what we were supposed to do at times. I know this was a first time visit but this visit essentially can help a person decide if this is the gym for then or not.

Same great OTF workout in a great location and space!…read more The Avon location is super convenient with a lot of parking, just off Highway 36/Rockville Road. I walked in and was blown away by the size of this location (twice the size of the other lol location I have been too). Clean and bright with an open reception area, lockers, three showers, and a blow-dry station - it is setup for you to easily head to work after your workout. Orange theory is a zone based workout and good for all fitness levels. When you arrive, you will borrow or buy their heart rate monitor. The monitor connects with the OTF system and displays your heart rate, zone, calories burned and the "splat points" - which are basically the top two heart rate zones. Worried people are looking at your numbers? They are not. If they are, they got ripped off because you are working hard enough in these classes that you won't have time to look over the other numbers on that screen! I have knee issues and use alternatives for many parts of class, coaches are great about that. Rowers, treadmills, free weights, bosu, TRX, etc. I burn 400-600 calories in every class I have attended. Coach Erin was great. I have also taken class from Coach Lauren, as she teaches in Bloomington too - she is the best! Give it a try! First workout is free.

We were greeted by the front desk staff as we entered and checked in. As you can imagine, the evenings are a little bit busier since people are off work. The facility is spacious enough for everyone to spread out. The machine's downstairs were full so we headed upstairs to the treadmills. They have wipe dispensers so you're able to sanitize before and after equipment use. They also have several TVs on display if you don't have headphones, etc. I would say guests are friendly.. ended up striking up a great conversation with my treadmill neighbor. We spent a little over an hour on the treadmills before heading back downstairs. Locker room/bathrooms appeared clean and the sauna was a great amenity used to end a great work out.

The door doesn't close and there is a major gap surrounding the door. Please fix this crunch. A few things I appreciate about this specific gym: 1. Personal greetings from the trainers and receiving occasional texts checking in. Accountability is key and it really helps me when I feel like I have someone who helps hold me accountable to my goals. 2. The gym is small but never really feels crowded because of how fast each round goes by. The 3 minutes in each round with a small break in between helps the workouts feel super manageable. 3. The workouts change every day and I know that even though it's 30 minutes, I'm getting a GREAT workout. I've been feeling sore (in a good way) as my body adjusts to this. And because it's only 30 minutes it's very easy to work into your schedule. 4. You can go as many times as you want during their open hours which is stellar. 5. I've met Mindy and Sadie and they are both wonderful! Looking forward to my next workout!

You're able to get a great workout in 30 minutes, I'll typically get around 400 calories per round but have gotten up to the 600's depending on the day. The workouts change each day so you'll be able to get something different each day. 6 out of the 9 rounds will use bags and the others are a jump rope, core, and free weights. Kickboxing is a great workout overall and I can't emphasis enough the stress relief it'll provide! The workout will hit a little bit of everything with arms, legs, and core. There are no class times so you'll be able to come in whenever it's open. The hours vary but typically will be open early in the morning and later in the evening. I will say what gives this gym 5 stars is the 2 primary trainers there, Sadie and Savannah. Although they are younger l, it's clear they have a strong interest in the field and wanting to help you achieve your fitness goals. As you get to the planet fitness. You just see a bunch of restaurants and stores around since it's right next to the outlet mall. As you enter, You are greeted by staff members and you check in with your card or app to enter the gym. The desk is on the left. You have all the weights on your right, cardio is in the middle, abs and stretching area in the back. You have your Locker rooms in the middle of the gym on the left. It's really easy to navigate through the gym since it's a little planet fitness and just a complete cycle. You shouldn't get lost. The locker rooms are very small. Only handful of lockers in the area. The staff members was good. As soon I walked into the building. They both greeted me and said "Welcome to planet fitness" It kinda shocked me because I am not used to that with other gyms I have been to. I really felt welcome but at the end when I was leaving. They changed the staff members and didn't say bye or have a nice day. I even took my ear piece out to be respectful, just in case they did say something but looked like they was talking to other people so I just walked on out. (They was checking in, Just hanging out) I guess it depends on the staff on how you are greeted in the gym. The gym was clean. Clean as any gym can be. The bathrooms was very nice and clean. You can tell that they are really taking care of the gym with cleaning up and making sure it's not dirty. Very good job! I felt really safe at this gym. It's in a very nice area with a outlet mall right next door. When I was inside the gym. Everyone was just working out and doing what they need to do. It's a safe environment. I do recommend this planet fitness. I just wished that all staff members would be on the same page by greeting everyone and not just some staff members but what can you do. That's mostly all businesses out there. Overall 4.8/5
