Youth sports done SO well! Communication, organization & safety all top notch for my daughter's t-ball. We had other experiences elsewhere so it was extra refreshing to feel so prepared and know that she was getting such a great experience.

The only thing bad about this place I can say is that they don't have a sauna and every afternoon it is packed in here. Other than that the staff is wonderful everything is always clean. The temperature is always turn down in the gym area. I love coming here because it's close to my home and I can bring my kids. As far as I know this is the only YMCA within the Indianapolis area that has a special program for veterans.

This was opening day for the Ortho Indy Foundation YMCA in Pike Township on Lafayette Road just north of 52nd Street. The newly constructed facility is 56,000 sq. ft with state of the art strength and cardio equipment. Parking appears plentiful with a large paved lot. In front of the building are two, large, military statues with a wall of veteran names. A few of the locations amenities on the first floor is an indoor, 25-yard, four-lane, 5 ft. at deepest, Lap Pool with a recreational area and therapy water jets. The large gymnasium has a full-sized basketball court and was very active today. A cooking lab will be available for classes in the near future and it can be rented. Across the hall is a computer lab with free Wifi if you need a laptop. A nice daycare area is onsite for the little ones. Small lockers are available across from the gym. Additional lockers are available in one of the three locker rooms, Family, Men or Womens with no overnight storage. Entrance to the pool is through the locker rooms. The Veteran's room is also on the first floor where they offer Veteran programs. There is also an elevator if needed by the gymnasium. On the second floor is the indoor Walking/Running Track along the outside perimeter of the room. The strength and cardio equipment is in the center of the track. There are lots of natural lighting from the large windows. A large variety of programs and activities are available. Water classes in both the shallow and large pool, yoga, silver sneakers fitness programs, Zumba, Bike, Taekwondo, Hip-Hop, Strength and Endurance and Circuit training to name a few. Once you become a Charter Member, you have access to all 12 YMCA of Greater Indianapolis locations. No contracts when you join. New membership includes 4 hours with a Personal Trainer and orientation on the workout machines and equipment. My concern, as with all new memberships, is how crowded will the facility be on a daily basis, class sizes and the wait time for the machines. I'm hoping for the best as I need to get into shape in 2019.

Plenty of towels, clean locker rooms. They even have a universal locker room

I don't think i like the indoor track where it is because as people navigate through the machines, they may step out in your way.

I am only a basic member, so I can't vouch for the extra features like the pool and the sauna and the other classes. I go mainly for the weightlifting equipment and the open spaces. I like how there are two fitness greens in the gym which both offer plenty of room to exercise. The variety of weightlifting equipment is also pretty good, with a lot of different machines and cable stacks. The free weights are also pretty well stocked. My favorite area is the Olympic weightlifting area, which has four platforms and six squat racks which also have platforms. This area has a lot of mirrors so it's easy to keep your form in check. I have never used any of the class spaces but they all look really well kept from what I can see. They even recently updated one of their studios for weightlifting classes! I've been going there so you know I'll be back again!

Everytime I go, there are guys working out without shirts, shoes and lugging/grunting excessively making it a bit uncomfortable to get my reps in. People are rude and inconsiderate, but the issue I mainly have with this gym is the state of the men's locker room. The showers look like they have never been cleaned as a thick layer of black dust is caked on in all areas. The water smells like sewage, soap is constantly out, paper towels scattered across the floor, but at least sometimes that soaks up the urine! The bathrooms are FILTHY. Toilets don't all have seats and there have been literal feces and urine in puddles all over the floor. Because of this, I'll do whatever I can to avoid using the bathroom and I refuse to shower here anymore. I want to love this gym, because it's got a lot of recovery options!! But the bathrooms haven't gotten any better and it's been months.

I feel so thankful that my good friend, James V., referred me to Mas Aesthetics for personal…read moretraining during July of this year. At the time, my motivation and commitment to sticking to a gym routine was not where it needed to be. Self-Confidence was beyond low. I wasn't at my healthiest. I didn't like what I saw in the mirror. It was very frustrating, but I knew I had to do something. Thanks to James, that something led me to the doors of Mas Aesthetics. Since then, I've never looked back or had any regrets. This gym and the personal trainers apart of it are what I needed to get my butt back into a gym routine. As of right now, I only go 3 days out of the week. I have noticed positive changes in myself physically AND mentally. I pay a very affordable price each month. They are flexible with scheduled payment dates within reason. This is honestly the cheapest price for personal training in Central Indiana. The certified personal trainers are friendly, welcoming, fun, non-judgmental and are very knowledgeable when it comes to exercise and nutrition. The personal trainers are very flexible when it comes to my workout schedules each week. With my busy full-time job, sometimes I can't come in when I want to and they are understanding with that, which I love. They value me as a client and know that life happens. The gym is small and intimate where the personal trainers can focus on YOU as a client. Never crowded. A nice, fun, nonintimidating gym atmosphere. Just FYI, there is only one restroom. There are no lockers, but they do have cubby holes. I've never had any issues with those minor things, though. If you are in search of personal training, this is the spot to go. I HIGHLY recommend!! If you are unsure about committing, why not try them out for FREE for an hour by booking your first free training session on their website here: https://www.masaesthetics.com/pricing. You won't regret it! I promise!!!
