I am only a basic member, so I can't vouch for the extra features like the pool and the sauna and the other classes. I go mainly for the weightlifting equipment and the open spaces. I like how there are two fitness greens in the gym which both offer plenty of room to exercise. The variety of weightlifting equipment is also pretty good, with a lot of different machines and cable stacks. The free weights are also pretty well stocked. My favorite area is the Olympic weightlifting area, which has four platforms and six squat racks which also have platforms. This area has a lot of mirrors so it's easy to keep your form in check. I have never used any of the class spaces but they all look really well kept from what I can see. They even recently updated one of their studios for weightlifting classes! I've been going there so you know I'll be back again!

I joined the gym knowing there'd be a 25 dollar cancel fee, however do note they like to charge you for a extra month when you cancel Therefore, if vou know when you are cancelling vour membership, cancel it a month in advance so you won't have to pay twice for the same month or a month you can't use. Not a good pption for college students home for the summer. You could just pay for day passes but at 15 bucks a month, card onlv, and ar annoving slow tablet you have to meticulousl plug your information into every time isn': particularly eniovable to do every day. n addition to the cancellation fee and the nonthly fee, if you haven't paid the 77 dolla charge for annual maintenance, it charges you his 60 dollar balance when vou try to leave. My 'riend cancelled before paying the 77 but ye ended up having to pay over a hundred dollars just to stop going. The rest of us had to pay 45 bucks. additionally, the pool has been closed for like 2 weeks straight and upon asking the staff, they are unsure when it will be back as well as unsure what is wrona with it. Sometimes the staff is friendlv and other times thev aren't On a more positive note, this gym has gooc equipment like a nice pendulum squat (besides the rotting pad on the preacher curl machine), sn't really busy before noon, and the lube guy goes around often to make sure the machines are beina maintained well. Even that beina said t's not rare for the leg extension or chest fly nachine to be down for repair, leaving only one of those very popular machines open for 5C people to use :. Overall, good gym choice if you split it with someone else or are planning to stav for a lona time, otherwise it iust isn't worth the money Side note, the lighting isn't great for posing anywhere if you care about that

I live different months in MN & PA states & here, using the Y pool swim to ease joints/back issues…read more This is no doubt the best Y w/its clean, modern locker/shower facilities, kid's pool with slides. But, there's only one 4 lanes lap pool so I have no idea why they had to "rest/close" the pool from 1-4pm weekdays. In both MN & PA, lap pool is opened all day 5:15am-8pm weekdays. If lap pool was used for swim team or life guard training, they'd open the kid's pool for lap swim. In Philly, there is one pool with no kids' pool. So certain hours, 2-3 lanes of pool are reserved for kids lesson/ fam swim, leaving 2 lanes for lap swim. But the pool is in use fr 5:15 till closing at 8 weekdays or 6/ 4pm weekends, except for Friday 2.5 hrs of pool cleaning. They tried to maximize the pool's usage to benefit members. Why such a waste of resources here in Avon, IN? I saw that the staff were just hanging out, doing nothing near the pool while members were not allowed 1-4pm to use the pool nor the sauna. It would be the best time for some ppl to swim/sauna in these 3 wasted hours. I hope that the management of Hendricks Y will reconsider their pool hours and not waste such a wonderful resource for its community. I will upgrade this to a 5 star if this is changed for the better (or even 6; ).

When I alerted staff to equipment being broken I do see that they are listening and fixing the equipment in a timely fashion. Night shift guy does a good job of picking up and cleaning up around the place. Loved the renovations they did to this site a about a year ago or more now. The Cross fit area is perfect and has allowed us to do so much more with our workout. LA Fitness has about everything you need, basketball court, dry heat sauna, hot tub, pools, studios and other side courts. Only thing I would add is an outdoor tennis court behind the place and a track going around it for running. I don't like doing cardio much in the inside. When I do Cardio in the inside, (winter) the upstairs is great! Love the overall layout of this place. What I expect in a gym! They could be a little less strict on the closing time for members finishing up in the locker room. Other than that love the place!

Cost: $480 month + 1x Activation Fee of $99 * includes what I'm assuming was 3 - 30 min training sessions weekly * nutrition * membership(gym access) The kid tasked with talking to me was friendly at the start but got really upset when I started asking basic questions. I asked who authorizes the workouts and nutrition plans, I asked what his credentials were to be a trainer, and what his background was. The person I was working with is 21 and has no background in training. He just was a person that lifted at the gym and then is now a trainer. I wasn't negative to him; I just told him I needed to think about it, which caused this guy to get annoyed with me. I chalk it up to him being young and unable to control his temperament. If you are paying 500 a month, you will ask questions to verify the validity of the product. He stated, "If you do not trust us, then we do not want you here." I explained that you don't just "trust" something blindly; you should do research because that's how you get burned. I passed on this gym as it wasn't the right fit for me. I really did consider it due to the owner; I wanted to and had a card in hand to give it a shot, but trying to give my credit card information and having some kid with an attitude keep saying over and over that if you don't trust us, then we don't want you here when I'm literally giving you a shot. That's just poor business practices. The kid called me up with a poor attitude and tone after I spoke with the owner and was excited about signing up. He reminded me of when you tell your kid to mow the lawn and he really doesn't want to; I had to stop this kid mid-conversation because his attitude was so bad and ask him if he had some personal issue with me or was offended that I had asked basic questions. I even apologized to him if he felt offended by my questions but explained that I just needed to know the source of the training as I wanted to make sure it was effective. He was just agitated that I wasn't blindly just signing up. He'll figure it out as he gains more experience. The owner does have certifications, even if he doesn't say it, I looked it up, and he is tied to a few. He also knows the process as he has put in the time. The "trainer" he tied me to at the start was the only thing that had me pause on this and move on. Always do your research on trainers. $480 a month is a lot for good training in Indiana, so ensure you get your value.

They have been welcoming and kind as I learn proper form. I started typing out staff members' names but, honestly, they have all been fantastic! Myriad has multiple membership levels; mine is the Bootcamp + yoga plan. I'm still working back into fitness routines, but I've seen a lot of progress in this short time. So who knows, maybe CrossFit classes will start down the road as I build. My biggest surprise in joining this gym, though, was the yoga classes. This has been huge as I need to stretch out, but honestly, the warm yoga is probably the highest calorie burn I've seen in an hour's time. Oh and if you're looking for a gym, now is the perfect time to join as they prepare to open up their new space in the Stutz Building.

The group setting. It's so much more motivating (for me at least) to work out with a group with others pushing you. NapTown has so much more to offer than group fitness, too - yoga, nutrition, community events, workshops, etc. They've taken so many steps to help mitigate the pandemic, including virtual class options and designated workout space clearly marked out on the floor. They've been so communicative through the entire ordeal. Between the members-only Facebook page and weekly newsletter, I always feel informed about happenings and updates at the gym. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a fitness community to call home!
