While LA does have more to offer, I never felt comfortable working out there. So many lunk heads and judgey stares. From the minute I walked in, I knew it would be a completely different experience. Sean, the assistant manager, knows my name and always smiles and says hello. This goes a long way in my book. At the big box gyms, you're just a face in a million. I always come on my lunch hour to lift and never have issues getting to any piece of equipment. The have a great weight room with a large selection of machines and free weights. The equipment is older and not shiny and new, but it's all functional and safe, so who cares? The cardio selection is decent, lots of treadmills, several ellipticals, lots of bikes and a few stair masters. I can't speak to their classes, I've never taken any. The sauna is nice and hot as hell. Locker rooms are older, but again, functional. All around, this is a highly recommended facility. Speaking as a woman that frequently works out alone, I very much enjoy my time at CTF and look forward to working out now more than ever.

When I walked in, the front desk staff were helpful in signing us in and handling our somewhat weird situation (two guests with a phone-ahead from a member indicating that we were his guests). There weren't a ton of people around, which was definitely a plus for me since I hate crowded gyms :) The first room contained a bunch of different weight and cardio machines as well as a small set of free weights. We worked out a decent amount in that room before exploring the rest of the gym, and while it wasn't the best set of equipment I've ever seen, it wasn't bad at all. After a while, we realized that the gym was larger than that single room, so we decided to explore further. The second room contained a lot more weight equipment with an emphasis on free weights, so that was a nice surprise. We also came across a basketball court, a pool, and a space for karate. We didn't take advantage of most of these areas, but it was nice to know that they existed :) I would definitely come back here if I was in town and wanted to get a good workout in.

During a recent day of remote work at Coat Check, I purchased a day pass to pop in here and workout between meetings. I had the best of intentions but didn't end up getting as much workout time as I had hoped. They've done a great job with the rebrand and all of the staff I encountered were very hospitable and friendly. The lower level features a well organized weight room and the upstairs had a variety of cardio and weights equipment- a few were on the older side but everything seemed to work. They offer a handful of classes throughout the week. I could see this being a good downtown gym option if you live nearby or happen to be traveling for work and looking to squeeze in some movement .

I've been a new member for about a month now and have been so grateful for this gym…read more The very first thing that stood out to me was how kind and friendly the staff are, starting with Lou at the front desk! It can be intimidating for many going to a new space, let alone a gym, but this space has no pretense other than wanting to help you meet your fitness goals in the most supportive way possible. The trainers I've gotten to interact with are encouraging and knowledgeable and are always around to answer questions or help you set up a machine if needed. They also (I believe) have cards with workout ideas if you don't really know how to structure your workout. They offer weekly classes as well ranging from yoga to strength and tone classes and more. They have a spacious locker room with showers and they also have cubbies on the main floor as well to store your things. Most of the members I've met are awesome! I highly recommend giving this gym a shot if you want a comfortable and non intimidating space to meet your fitness goals.

I've worked with Mark Morgan for several years now, and he is, without question, the best trainer I've ever worked with. His knowledge of fitness, strength training, mobility, and overall health is incredible, but what really sets him apart is after all these years, he continues to challenge me, and somehow keeps me engaged even on the days I'm not feeling it. As a former college athlete, I've become noticeably stronger, my overall fitness has improved, and I can do things today that I couldn't do when I started. When I've had physical concerns (including a fun year with frozen shoulder) I relied so heavily on the expertise and experience of Dr. Jon Francis - who is absolutely incredible... and also a phenomenal trainer himself! But the biggest transformation hasn't been physical. The greatest gift F3 has given me has been my mental health. Life is busy, stressful, and demanding, and that hour has become something I genuinely need. No matter how I walk through the door--stressed, exhausted, overwhelmed, or distracted--I always leave feeling happier, more energized, and in a better headspace than when I arrived. The entire team at F3 is so welcoming & encouraging. I've made genuine friends in some of the trainers and others who work out there. I've seen great athletes improve, and I've seen people regain their lives there. It is a space for everyone, completely free of judgment. Whether you're just starting your fitness journey or you've been training for years, Mark meets you where you are and pushes you to become the best version of yourself. If you're looking for a gym that genuinely cares about you as a whole person, I cannot recommend F3 and Mark Morgan highly enough.

I have worked out for most of my life and was an athlete in school so the gym is not new to me, so I thought. The coaches here at M4G CrossFit open every class with a QOD-question of the day! This allows everyone to get to know each other better and find out who has things in common with you. They discuss the warm up and workouts but they also BREAK DOWN EVERY MOVE...what? Wait, did I really say that?!? Yes I did! They want you to learn proper form and correct technique so you don't get hurt doing something you don't know how to do; or get hurt doing something you thought you knew how to do. And guess what, I found out there is a lot I thought I knew but my form was off. Definitely explains those days of "oh my shoulder hurts" or "won't do that move again". We only know as much as we are taught, right? These coaches are awesome! There is so much offered here: multiple classes throughout the day, open gym, partner WODs, OnRamp (beginners training), and personal training. Not only does this gym support its members in their health and fitness goals but they are a huge supporter of the community. They do community events to raise money for our city! How cool is that?? If you're looking for "just a gym", you won't find it here. If your looking for a fitfam that pushes, motivates, and supports you...you've nailed it here. Come check these guys out!
