Tournament time
Yvette A.

G3 tournament occurring this weekend. The sport zone is one of the venues. Due to covid, many restrictions are in place but high amounts of disorganization from this establishment is the reason for 1 star. You're told at the front desk that players and family cannot come in until 2 mins prior to start of game so everyone has to wait outside and crowds form around the door. Then, they let the player go in, but the parents still have to wait outside. None of the workers were communicating to parents what was going on (if games had started) so a lot of people became very agitated as it was extremely hot and people drove hours from out of town to watch the game. They finally allowed 4 people at a time to enter, which after bustling through the crowd and experience heat exhaustion was terrible. The cost of admission to the tournament per day is 15$ which is ridiculous when you finally are able to get in, the game is about over because game times are cut short. An awful situation to say the least!

Multi use turf field

Faculty is good shape. Courts and fields appear to be well taken care of. Staff isn't engaged so don't expect much in the way of customer service. Parking is limited so show up early. Don't expect to get much of a cell signal in this giant steel box. They do have wifi but they don't provide any bandwidth, it's effectively useless. They're some new facilities being built north of sport zone so hopefully some competition helps.

Full of mouse poop. Dirty facility. For the price they are charging for admission they should hire an exterminator. Gross. Also no seating.

It has everything you need for every style of workout you could do, like powerlifting, body building, CrossFit, running, and even sports performance! The owners, Doug & Andrew are super cool and down to earth, and members are all really friendly, including the very intimidating powerlifters. Plus, you honestly can't beat the price. $60/month for unlimited use of the gym 24/7 with key fob, but they also offer personal training & sports performance coaching and have a powerlifting team (goals to join that one day!!!). If you do personal training, I highly recommend Shane! He's super cool and down-to-Earth, knowledgeable, and designs some workouts that will kick your butt into shape without being overwhelming or scary. One of the first leg workouts he gave me, I laughed a little because my first instinct as a former rugby player was that it was about to be an easy workout, but by the end my legs were jello and I was cursing (lol). Plus for personal training rates, the prices are awesome! If you join now, you can get in Shane's 6 week fitness challenge which has been great to meet new people in Indy!

I am only a basic member, so I can't vouch for the extra features like the pool and the sauna and the other classes. I go mainly for the weightlifting equipment and the open spaces. I like how there are two fitness greens in the gym which both offer plenty of room to exercise. The variety of weightlifting equipment is also pretty good, with a lot of different machines and cable stacks. The free weights are also pretty well stocked. My favorite area is the Olympic weightlifting area, which has four platforms and six squat racks which also have platforms. This area has a lot of mirrors so it's easy to keep your form in check. I have never used any of the class spaces but they all look really well kept from what I can see. They even recently updated one of their studios for weightlifting classes! I've been going there so you know I'll be back again!

I joined the gym knowing there'd be a 25 dollar cancel fee, however do note they like to charge you for a extra month when you cancel Therefore, if vou know when you are cancelling vour membership, cancel it a month in advance so you won't have to pay twice for the same month or a month you can't use. Not a good pption for college students home for the summer. You could just pay for day passes but at 15 bucks a month, card onlv, and ar annoving slow tablet you have to meticulousl plug your information into every time isn': particularly eniovable to do every day. n addition to the cancellation fee and the nonthly fee, if you haven't paid the 77 dolla charge for annual maintenance, it charges you his 60 dollar balance when vou try to leave. My 'riend cancelled before paying the 77 but ye ended up having to pay over a hundred dollars just to stop going. The rest of us had to pay 45 bucks. additionally, the pool has been closed for like 2 weeks straight and upon asking the staff, they are unsure when it will be back as well as unsure what is wrona with it. Sometimes the staff is friendlv and other times thev aren't On a more positive note, this gym has gooc equipment like a nice pendulum squat (besides the rotting pad on the preacher curl machine), sn't really busy before noon, and the lube guy goes around often to make sure the machines are beina maintained well. Even that beina said t's not rare for the leg extension or chest fly nachine to be down for repair, leaving only one of those very popular machines open for 5C people to use :. Overall, good gym choice if you split it with someone else or are planning to stav for a lona time, otherwise it iust isn't worth the money Side note, the lighting isn't great for posing anywhere if you care about that

Lots of options for plans: unlimited monthly pass, reasonably priced 10 pack to use over 60 days, or you can buy one class at a time. Plus you can attend one week for free to check everything out before you commit! Love that the bathrooms have hair ties, spray deodorant, etc. For me, the system works very well as I'm not very self motivated at a gym. So I sign up for class, show up, and the time flies. They also have Pilates for separate purchase if that interests you. Bonus used sneaker recycling drop off, book and puzzle exchange adds to the sweet milieu. You won't regret accepting your week of free classes, and then you'll be hooked!

Each class is a different workout so there is no getting bored with doing the same routine. The trainers (Stephanie & Allison) are wonderful in making sure everyone is doing the workouts correctly to prevent any injuries. During the current COVID pandemic they are taking all the correct precautions to keep everyone safe. Masks are required, the doors remain open for constant airflow and everyone is required to clean equipment after each use. I love working out at Metrick Fitness.
