I often wonder what inspires the names of some restaurants. "Thai On Earth"…read more.. Maybe it's best just to ignore the brain. Head straight to the menu. Whenever I have Thai, I order one of two dishes: the Larb Gai, or the Panang Curry (both $12.90). I'm happy to report back that both dishes are done well here. The space is simple and no nonsense. It's clean and functional. The service is fast and friendly. If you're dining in, you'd do well to share dishes (it's more fun this way anyhow!). Thai On Earth is always pumping out take away orders of a night time. Everyone in Auchenflower is sure to have their menu on their fridge door. I'd bet it's the best Thai in the area.

I always judge a Thai restaurant on the Pad Thai so that's what I got. That and the fish cakes. I'm pleased to say that boy they cook some tasty fish cakes and Pad Thai to boot. It was well sauced, the noodles were well done and they put some filling in the noodles. My friend A ordered the Massuman curry and that too, she said 'mmmmm this is really nice! And look, you can see the potatoes!' Which means she really did quite like the taste of her quaint little curry that she always orders at every single Thai place we've ever gone to. Try something else I always say... but no. Anyway, I'm getting a little off topic here, but to be honest, this place is alright. Worth a try and not enough people go there.

My husband and I went here last night for dinner and noticed the sushi train gone and now there are just classy wooden tables in its place. This place has a weird split level and another higher split level happening, but don't let that deter you because the food is quite authentic. We had the Beef Massuman Curry (no choice for spicyness, this was pretty mild) and the Chicken Pad Thai with Chicken satay sticks for appetizers. The Chicken Satay sticks were $9.90 which did seem a little high for 4 sticks, but the taste was good. The mains are all around 16-20 dollars and between the two of us, we paid just under $50 which I thought was a pretty good deal on Park Road. The pad thai, was hands down one of the best ones I have had for a while, the tamarind taste comes through, the squeeze of lemon juice adds perfectly, not too dry... nice chunks of chicken breast... guess what I'm having for lunch at work today! So I have reviewed the review I had previously and have increased the stars! Definetely work a try, the dishes are really yummy and all the waitresses are super friendly.

It was moderately busy for a weeknight and it's a little out of the way. I imagine that My Thai has its own regular patrons as they've certainly been around for several years. The names of the Special Dishes had me highly amused...you can check out the pic if you are curious! The food arrived within 5 mins for the BB and mine was 2 mins later. Talk about fast service! The coconut rice was nice and hot and the mains were reasonable in taste but not in price, mains from $22 onwards. The chillies in soy sauce was really nice and served in the cutest elephant bowl. The LLB and the Thai lemon iced tea was nicely priced at $4.50 and was pretty good. The staff were super polite and very efficient and I really appreciated that. I'd probably come again on somebody else's say so or a special occasion but not if I want a Thai meal at a median price. Having said that, this place probably would not give you a bad experience so it's worth a visit.

Now that I am an adult living out of home, I still like to come here for some delicious Thai food and my opinion has not changed. I have tried many of their dishes and have never left this place without a huge smile and full stomach. On the menu, there is a 'Thai Terrace Specialties', from that section, I highly recommend the 'Banana Leaf Chicken'. This dish has the most amazing burst of flavour jam packed on tiny pieces of chicken. Order this dish with coconut rice on the side to balance out the spices, it works a treat. Other dishes I like are the 'Green Curry fried rice', 'Pad Thai', and 'Mussaman Beef'. It is not the cheapest restaurant in the area, but it is worth it. If you are on the hunt for the best Thai restaurant in Brisbane, well look no further because 'Thai Terrace' is the place you have been looking for.

Some friends and I were next door renting DVDs from Civic Video and had been planning to grab dinner somewhere in Rosalie Village before movie marathoning on someone's couch. We did a quick circuit and settled on Thai Terrace owing to it's breezy, spacious front terrace. Plenty of outdoor tables is always a plus at a restaurant, especially in the Queensland climate. We sat down and our menus were brought straight over. After much discussion about sharing and who wanted what, we had come up with a lengthy and complex order which always makes me a bit nervous because restaurants can be prone to messing those up. I needn't have worried because the food came out after only a short wait and nothing was missing and everything was tasty and authentic. We all agreed that it had been a successful meal and that we'd picked the right restaurant and ordered well. We thought the staff and service at Thai Terrace had been far above average and that the prices were very reasonable (especially once we split the bill per head). Nothing like having a good Thai place next to your video store!

The restaurant has a lovely interior and a paved, outdoor eating area with umbrellas. The table beside us was occupied by a foursome of indie kids on their way to the valley and the guys weren't wearing shoes. So this place is fancy enough to dress nicely, but casual enough to go shoeless! We rocked up pretty late, at around 8:45pm, but the staff were welcoming and let us stay until 9:30pm. That said, they did accidentally switch the lights off while we were eating, but it was fair enough considering we were sitting in on their pack up time. The food is perfect, but a little pricey for me, with most mains ranging from $15-$20. We got the red duck curry ($18.50) and Som Tamm salad (carrot, cabbage, and dried shrimp). The salad was packed with chilli, so be warned if you've got a delicate palate! Lunch hours: Baan Thai is open for lunch on Monday - Fridays, from 12-2pm.

I have been here a few times for dinners with friends and we always order the Tod Mun Pla (Fish cakes) and of course the Pad Thai... you will never be disappointed with these two things at Benjarong. Sure they do have a mean Larb Gai and their Gang Massaman Nuea (Beef Curry) is a pretty strong contender as well... but for us, it was the fish cakes and pad thai that stood out. The restaurant isn't big, but narrow. You probably need to book a table here before you stroll down and take a seat because chances are on a busy night, they are booked out. Located in West End, Siam Samrarn shares a complex with a Coles, Gloria Jeans and other decent run of the mill chain stores. Now I know what you're thinking, 'how can this be a great restaurant if it doesn't have it's own building'. Let me reassure you though, Siam Samrarn is a diamond in the rough. The first time I went to Siam Samrarn was with my sister and mother one Thursday evening. All three of us were astounded by the quality of the Thai food as we anticipated something mediocre at best. What we discovered however was the chefs at Siam Samrarn know things that other Thai chefs need to find out because the food was absolutely sensational! In addition, the service staff was extremely hospitable, ensuring that our glasses were always filled as we discussed at length the culinary triumphs that were laid out before us - before inevitably moving on to a drunken analysis of the family, the world and the location of the bathroom. I was so impressed by Siam Samrarn that I decided to have my 21st birthday there. Once again the staff at Siam Samrarn went up and beyond what any of us anticipated. They were able to accommodate 30-40 wine guzzling university drama students, which I imagine is no easy feat. They were even kind enough to let us chat in their restaurant till well past 11, cleaning everything and anything around us before inevitably asking us to move on. I think it has become perfectly clear that I really do consider this restaurant one of Brisbane's best. Siam Samrarn is not only excellent value for money, but also an exciting adventure for any foodie. Ultimately, hospitality for me comes down to the quality of the staff and the employees at Siam Samrarn are gentle, receptive, caring and courteous. Check it out. P.s. take advantage of the BYO and the BWS in the centre. P.p.s. check out the site for the funny music.
