A comment about quality of service. Many complain that they were over charged or services were sub-par. After 16 years I must disagree. First, boat means Break Out Another Thousand -- vehicles in salt water require maintenance and work. Second, if you are nice good things happen. The staff from top to bottom are really nice people trying to do he best they can. My boat is not the poster child of perfection, but, staff have always treated me fairly and gotten the job done. Yes, some bills set high, but others set low -- it all averages out. Finally, all work, at least for me, has been first rate. To me THAT is what is important. If you want to save $$ do it yourself. If you want to get it one right, open the wallet! read more

We love it. We live here in the summer. Scott helps us in the store, Val on the dock and Rob in the shop. All great resources. We feel so lucky to be a part of this marina. The mini golf is cute for kids but we did miss the ice cream this summer (not that we need it). Love it here! read more

As far as marinas/public docks go this one is alright. Smaller. Ample parking. No public restrooms. No public BBQ area. No landscaping of any kind to enhance the surroundings. Easy slip access. read more

Not sure about other reviews. The property is kept Clean, the staff was friendly and helpful then we walked down to a grill on the water which was good ..I will admit a bit over priced for lunch although the atmosphere was delightful for various Friday I'd recommend this place read more

Got charged for work that was not done, work that was done was not done correctly and most had to be redone. When you pay a marina high prices you hope you get talent. Not the case with Norwalk Cove Marina. Your bill says they changed the zincs in the engines, well when you pull one and find it not done - surprise! Why is your boat filling with water? Maybe because they didn't connect the AC condensate hose correctly to the shower sump unit they installed. Boat running hot? Well those heat exchangers that were supposedly removed and cleaned never were never removed or cleaned. Actually SHOW them how the gaskets are still rusty and they will tell you they did the job and used the old gaskets when they put it back together. No talent, no skill, high cost and zero ethics. read more

I'm an experienced boater and have used the services of just about every marina in Long Island Sound/Fairfield county area. Norwalk Cove is the best run marina of them all. Competent professionals for dock and service, a marine store and coffee shop on premises, first class slips and reasonable policies make for a good experience. A number of major and minor service projects over the years were generally done quickly and with good quality. In the case where a screwup resulted in some damage, Rob took full responsibility, consulted with the manufacturer for best practices and got me back in the water within 10 days in better condition than before the damage. That's great service. Only negative is the pain in the bottom boat show, which takes a week or so out of the sailing season, but it is handled well and everything gets back to normal exactly when promised. read more

The Cove does a terrible job on service/repair, I'm pretty sure they overcharged me on jobs (I mean extra charges, not just high prices - to b fair I don't have the time to audit their work vs charges so it is a strong suspicion, not confirmed fact) and the mechanics left my boat a mess when they were done. I have photos of extensive greasy fingerprints on pedestal and cockpit and cushions left in disarray. At the end of the day I don't have a lot of bandwidth to go back and complain - I just moved on. However I have heard recently from a friend and then a new acquaintance that my experiences weren't unusual (especially leaving boat a mess) so I thought I would share my experience. read more

Do not use these guys for service unless money and your time are not important. I had a major repair (+20K) done this spring, the boat was delivered without being sea trialed. When I finally ran it myself there was seawater spraying into the engine compartment from the exhaust risers. They never even tightened the hose clamps at the end of the repair. The linkage was never adjusted, the drive made a loud noise when shifting and lurches into both forward and reverse. I brought it back, they adjusted some things they "missed"during the installation and decided that the problem was the engine idle. They replaced a valve (IAC) to address this, the tech notes (after the repair) on the new work order/bill that the idle is still high and the shift still loud. Nothing changed, that will be another $1,000 please...Never again... read more

I brought my boat here for a simple impeller/waterpump job a week before labor day this season in hopes i could get it back before then. I knew it was a long shot it get it done before then because of the holiday work load.. and of course it didn't, which was fine. To make a long story short, I got my boat back after over a MONTH of it being there during prime boating season all while getting either the run around as to why it wasn't done, or just no return calls whatsoever. I'm not a difficult customer, and I was more than patient.. in fact this is the first negative review i've ever written about anywhere, that's how back-burnered and mistreated I feel. read more

Norwalk Cove Marina is the best! We had two emergencies with out 39 foot sailboat and they were incredibly responsive and helpful. We will always use Norwalk Cove Marina for all of our service and repairs. It's the best boatyard in the NYC area/Fairfield. read more
