First, boat means Break Out Another Thousand -- vehicles in salt water require maintenance and work. Second, if you are nice good things happen. The staff from top to bottom are really nice people trying to do he best they can. My boat is not the poster child of perfection, but, staff have always treated me fairly and gotten the job done. Yes, some bills set high, but others set low -- it all averages out. Finally, all work, at least for me, has been first rate. To me THAT is what is important. If you want to save $$ do it yourself. If you want to get it one right, open the wallet!

The website is super informative and gives so many helpful details to plan your adventure whether you are going on the SUP or kayaks but what's more impressive is when you arrive, you are greeted by a super friendly staff and the owner David, is super knowledgeable about what's appropriate for your experience level and then guides you on how to get the most enjoyment out of the time on the water. The equipment was all either brand new or kept in like new condition which is definitely a huge bonus since I have rented boards at other places that were not kept in condition like these. There is a convenient and super clean locker room and bathroom available to get changed in and then lock up your valuables just steps away from the dock where you launch. You can tell that a lot of thought has been put into making every detail of your entire experience fluid and flawless. Since this was my son's first time, the staff helped tether his board to mine which made him and I much more comfortable. After we launched we had an incredible couple of hours enjoying the beautiful weather and such a special day together. I can't thank you enough David and your wonderful staff for making this a very special memory for my son and I! My son already asked when we will go again. After seeing another guest on the 'Step SUP today, I think it would be super fun to try that out and read that Sea Kayak offers motorized SUP as well... I mean, c'mon how cool is that!! But, for $5, you golf 18 holes, look out at the ocean, and are actually quite challenged (though one of us did get two holes in ones.. But I'm chalking that up to skill (luck), rather than easy course design). The course is clean, people friendly, and a very cheap date night. Will be back soon, and hopefully be the one with the holes in one this time.

Norwalk Cove Marina offers 18 holes of miniature golf for $9 per adult. You won't find any…read morewindmills, loop-de-loops, or other fun obstacles on this course; rather, rocks placed in the middle of holes, "bunkers" and "rough" (made of longer artificial grasses), and the slopes and bricks shaping each hole are what will challenge your score. In a sense, it's a much more golf-like version of miniature golf that tests good putters who can plan their shots and use good touch to get putts close. And the staff has kept the course in good shape. While I enjoyed the challenge, I feel like there is a missed opportunity here to make this course really fun and memorable. Not many mini-golf courses are located on a marina, so even if there were more boat/ocean/anchor/seashell-type decorations around the course (even if management didn't want to change the layout of the course), I think it would feel more enjoyable.

Unfortunately for me, I scheduled my vacation the week they aerated the greens, so they were still sandy. Fortunately for me, my partner and I agreed that ALL second putts were good! The staff was friendly and helpful. It was my honor to have been paired with Frank , who said he has played Oak Hills Park 300 times a year since he retired 20 years ago! Not only is he knowledgeable about the course and it's recent history, he is just a super nice man. Golf is a social sport, meant to share with friends. Frank and I shared some great conversation and he is living proof that you don't have to hit the ball a long way as long as you can consistently hit it down the middle! I am inspired! I hope to return to Oak Hills, perhaps this next Spring!

Their location is a short drive off of I-95 and Route 8, so it was the perfect meeting place. Nate was our Axe Master and he was great! He was a great teacher and despite it being busy toward the end of our visit, he always came around to check in with us. The venue is nice and spacious, each throwing section has two targets and a dedicated table, so we had plenty of space to comfortably enjoy our two-hour slot. It's BYOB & BYOF, so you can bring everything you like! To top it all off, they had a great playlist to jam out to.

So, this is a park/beach which is within bicycling range of where we live in Stamford. During the…read morenice months (May through October) it is for residents only ($70 parking fee) but it is free to cyclists at any time of the day, which is very nice, as it makes a place we can bicycle to during the weekends. It's a very pretty, well-maintained park. There's a number of tennis courts as well as platform tennis, which is a flavor of tennis I hadn't heard of until moving to this area. There's also a nice beach, with a pretty view of the sound. It's a nice place to walk and enjoy the nice weather. If you live in the area, or are able to access by bicycle, it's definitely worth visiting. Pack a picnic in your bike bag and enjoy the view!
