DO NOT USE FAIRFIELD. They will present you a contract that includes coping, but then attempt to hold your pool project hostage until you agree that they DON'T have to install coping, despite it being in the contract that they wrote. After that, the owner, Jeremy, will call you and tell you that because there is no coping, they are not responsible for the shoddy work they did during the installation. Once we started getting other contractors to look at the installation, they declined to install or warrant any coping because the underlying concrete was already deteriorating and would cause the coping to crack and loosen. We had resorted to using outdoor carpet around the pool because no reputable pool or tile company in the area will touch this project. After only one year, the pool installation has deteriorated to the point that it will have to be replaced. This is an outright scam. It's a shame that they were the only pool company that carried the fiberglass pool shell we wanted. Had we known, we would have definitely found someone else. As you can see from the photos, there is only a concrete collar installed, no coping. We have since learned that if the concrete is that thin, it requires rebar or mesh reinforcement, and it obviously has neither. If it hadn't started cracking immediately, we would likely have been fooled by the thin, un-reinforced concrete. We have spent the last three years trying to get Fairfield to remedy this situation, and have had to reach out to the shell manufacturer for assistance. read more

I had the pleasure of speaking with both owners of Fairfield Pools today. I did not have my pool installed by them and actually went with a competitor and 100% regret it. The company I went with gave me an unlevel pool with leaking mechanicals and they refuse to even acknowledge my requests to repair the problems. The owner will not even meet with his customers!!! Fairfield Pools owners took time out of their extremely busy day to give me some very helpful advice. And basically listen to me cry about my horrible experience with the pool company in Norwalk. And I'm not even their customer! So from a non-customer, I give their customer service and industry knowledge an A+. And their pool installs look beautiful too! read more

I'm not in the habit of leaving bad reviews but this really got under my skin. I'm not a client of Fairfield Pool. However, I had a new vinyl liner installed last October after the season that seemed to have been installed well and when we opened the pool a few days ago there were wrinkles in the shallow end. The guy who does my pool service whom I've been using for 9 years also did the liner and I called him up and he basically told me that it's bad luck that the liner lifted because of groundwater over the winter and if I want to remove the wrinkles I'd have to drain the pool to fix it and then fill it back up with water, a very expensive process. And even then there was no guarantee it wouldn't happen again. So I decided to call around to see if maybe other pool companies could possibly have another opinion. I called Fairfield Pool first, just a few minutes ago actually, and the person I got could not have been ruder to me. Here's how the conversation went: Me: Hi (explains the problem) Him: (English Accent) I'm sorry, is this a liner we installed? Me: No, but I thought that maybe if you serviced liners you could come take a look at it and tell me if there's anything that can be done. Him: Can I ask why you didn't use us? Me: (Flabbergasted for a moment) Because I had the liner installed by the guy who normally does my pool service. Him: So why are you calling again? Me: I wanted to see if maybe you had another opinion on what could be done about the wrinkles. Him: You can't expect us to come fix someone else's problem if we didn't install the liner? Me: But you service liners, right? Him: Yes, but we didn't install it? Me: So how could I ever contract you for work if you won't service my liner? Him: If you wanted us to install a liner we could. I'm sorry, we can't help you. And then he hung up on me! I can't believe how unbelievably rude he was. I was asking for his opinion and would have gladly paid for a service call to see the liner and give me a course of action that could be taken to fix the wrinkles. Instead he was offended I didn't use him for the liner installation and then told me flat out he wouldn't service my pool because he didn't install the liner! I am contemplating having a fiberglass pool installed in place of the vinyl pool I have now but there is now a zero percent chance that Fairfield Pool will be the contractor of choice. If this is how they react to customers who call them for help and service then I am fearful of what the rest of the customer experience would be. Every customer interaction is a chance at tens of thousands of dollars of future sales. I hope the gentleman who took my call sees this review and thinks twice about his customer interactions in the future. I would give one star but I was fair and added another because the gentleman at least kept an even and professional tone of voice throughout the call. read more

Read the contract and be prepared for the additional charges. Mike was our salesman and made it appear very turnkey but what Fairfield does is minimal. You need to pull permits ($500). You need to get an electrician ($5,000). You need to find a gas installer ($5,000). If you are not used to being your own General contractor, this may not be the company for you to use. They charge extra for temporary fencing - $300 (which they say they will return it but don't). They say they install the pool cover - but that does not include lawn tubes or straps ($1,000!). They say they close the pool at the end of the season ($500). We love our pool but wish we had selected another company to install it. read more

We bought our home recently and when the inspection was being performed the pool was closed and under a foot of snow. After the purchase we found out the pool liner was very old and had developed leaks. We needed to replace the liner before we could use the pool. I researched high and low and decided to use Fairfield Pools. Although I was nervous about the 2 bad reviews below, I liked the professionalism of the owner and decided to trust my gut feeling. Thank goodness I did because dealing with Fairfield Pools was an absolute pleasure! The technical supervisor, Joe, has over 40 years of experience in the field and he is the most knowledgeable and kind person you would want to meet. His entire team was wonderful. They answered all of our questions and were there on time. The job was completed in one day and they arranged for the pool to be filled with water. They told us to call with any issues. In fact, Joe came back when we had a concern with an unrelated issue. I am very pleased with Fairfield pools and they will be my source for any pool related service. After what was initially a good sales experience, once there was a complication they completely disappeared. We had a new liner installed after we purchased the house with the pool - within a week I called to say we had a leak. The response was "probably evaporation" or yada, yada...anything but the fact that we had a leak. Over the summer I called about a dozen times and was either blown off or no one called me back when I left a message. So all summer I had to fill the water with the hose every two days. Long story short - I have a leak in two pipes and need to rip up the brand new pavers I just installed. Flash back to the spring BEFORE I had the pavers installed - I asked if we should test the pipes before I did the pavers. Their response "no, we installed that pool a few years ago, everything should be fine". Sure, I should have demanded they check the pipes...and I take responsibility for that. But the fact that they made no attempt to address the situation despite my numerous calls totally sucks. read more

We used Fairfield Pool to install a fiberglass pool last year. I appreciated a low pressure sales experience, and the installation was seamless (only took 2 days). Likewise, they were very receptive when a piece of heating equipment needed to be moved due to a new deck, which they did for free. read more

I used this company to put in a liner for a Pool 10 years ago for a pool they installed at my home 30 years ago. The liner lasted only 10 years and I need a new liner and going to do myself. I called them to get the measurements and the owner gave me some BS story that they dont have the measurements anymore. Its there pool , they installed a new liner and now they say they dont have measurements?!?!?!? The reason they wont give is because there not getting the job!! Dont ever use this company!!! I spent a ton of money installing the pool then putting in a new liner that didnt last that long and they wont even help me out with the measurements!! Too Much!!! If i called them for liner job they would pull them up in a second and do it!!! read more

WARNING: If you are looking for a company to service your pool DO NOT use Fairfield Pool. We contacted them to open our pool this year and had a horrendous experience. Joe and an associate came out to open our pool. The pool motor was not hooked up correctly which resulted in significant damage and required installation of a new one. Despite repeated calls to both Joe and Jeremy Blum, the owner, they failed to return my calls and provide any service. Finally after a certified letter was sent to Jeremy, Joe came out to take a look at the damaged motor and indicated that Jeremy would be in touch with me. I asked if he would reimburse me for the new motor that I had to purchase and instead received continued stonewalling. So with half the summer over, I contacted another pool company and purchased a new motor for $697. Joe also had informed me when he first came out to open the pool that the pool heater needed to be replaced. So I purchased a $3500 pool heater from them. Upon delivery I was informed that they could not install it and that I needed to hire a plumber and electrician to hook it up. Had I known that I would never have purchased it from them. I also purchased a $1600 Dolphin from them to use for weekly pool cleaning. So after spending well over $5000 with Fairfield Pool this is the service that I received. I was told that "I get so many calls that I can't possibly return them all". Well if that is the case, then Fairfield Pool should not be in business. Despite repeated requests, I am still waiting for the receipts I requested so that I can register warranties for both the pool heater and the dolphin. Seriously????? Worst service ever!!!! read more
