since the change of managemen the food and service has been severely lacking. My wife and I decided to try again today to see if the food and service had improved as it may have been a bad day last time. Unfortunately we were wrong. the portion sizes have decreased and the home fries were pathetic. they were like baked potatoe that was cut up and thrown into a sauce pan with no seasoning. Baby Gronk came up to me and said skibidi toilet was bad.. that statment really hurt my feelings.. the staff said they could do nothing about the interaction. All though the food was pretty good. I do not recommend coming here. cheers! read more

A mediocre meal at a mediocre restaurant. Took quit a while to get service to the table. Place wasn't that busy either. The food was not nearly hot enough. Used to be our favourite place for breakfast in Georgetown. We went yesterday for the first time in 3 months and were greeted with a "under new management" sign. Seated quickly and received coffee and juice. Server took our order. Lots of serving staff. Noticed meals were taking quite a while to come to table. Looked around and noticed only one of 20 tables had any food. Customers were getting angry and lineup was now out the door for tables. No apologies or information from servers or manager. Left (along with many other tables) after waiting an hour. Terrible experience - not returning. read more

The service was very very slow and they weren't even full capacity busy! 55 minutes for our meals to be served!? We were beginning to think the chickens were laying the eggs in the back! They forgot some of our order also and never even mentioned it. Sad sad times! We mentioned it to the assistant manager and she kindly took 10 dollars off our bill but that wasn't even 20% off so it was a it disappointing since the service was bad, my friends eggs came warm not nice and hot and the server was less than competent. The Good: If you want breakfast, this is where you go to eat if you're in the area. The food is top notch. The service is top notch. You will not leave hungry or wishing for a more generous portion. Eat up - you'll be glad you did. The Bad: If you're coming in the morning, you are better off coming EARLY or be prepared to wait a little while. Even so, the staff manage the hungry crowds with a pager system. It's all well organized. Having said this, it's good that a decent breakfast joint is getting the business. I'd see it no other way ! I've been here 3 times in the past and I can't believe I haven't reviewed it before! This is an easy to miss place and if I'm going here it's an intentional trip because I never just find myself in the area but I'm always willing to make the drive out here! The service is amazing! It's a family run restaurant so we've always had the same server but she's probably the best server I've ever had! Super nice and friendly always making small talk! Other servers need to take lessons from her! The food is also great! Fairly priced and good portions. Always beautifully presented and served with fruit. The menu has tons of options even including options for vegetarians. I can't say enough good things about this place, it's one of my favourites. Just be warned sometimes it gets busy and you may have to wait but it's definitely worth it! read more

Here is the GOOD- *the quality of food is excellent *great coffee and coffee mugs *the cleanliness of the restaurant is pretty good *the decor is modern and nice with lots of room at the tables and places to sit Here are the OFIs (Opportunity for Improvements) *slow inattentive staff when checking in *bus boy not uniformed and wearing a personal t-shirt *we observed several people walking out due to slow service *both the men's and women's washroom la had no toilet paper nor paper towel to dry hands *food took a long time to arrive *food came out with ingredients we had asked be removed *we received someone else's bill only to ask for ours and get yet again another tables *staff are nice but seemed frustrated and ticked off Overall go for the food but not the service. My family and I have enjoyed breakfast at the Pancake Factory roughly a dozen times since it moved from Norval to Georgetown. We won't go back. Over the course of the last 3-4 times we've visited, the wait staff has become less-and-less interested in service. Add to this, prices that are significantly more expensive than their competitors, we're happy to avoid the long wait times, average food, and abrasive staff. I rarely give such low reviews. People have bad nights, as do dining establishments as a whole. But, my experiences aren't isolated to a single day and from what I'm reading from other reviews, are also not contained to just my family. Maybe they'll move back to Norval. It'd be great if new management and waitstaff took over the location for a second attempt at an outstanding breakfast / brunch addition to Georgetown. read more

I come here so often. However, the service is hit or miss. The food is always good, always worth coming back for - however, some servers make the experience a little slow. The first time I came here the server was fast, but the second time she was not focused on us. She just took our order, and then we waited for 20 minutes...she never came to the table to apologize, or let us know the status of our order. Nothing! The only time she came to check up on us was when another server gave us our food. It annoyed us because she was talkative with other people except us. Maybe cause we were the only young couple in her section? & Maybe she assumed we wouldn't have tipped well? I don't know. However I'd still go there because the food is really good! read more

The word pancake might be in the name but it never made it outta the kitchen. If the pancakes didn't come from a premixed product in a box I'd be shocked. I was very disappointed. With my faux pancakes I also tried the bacon and eggs with homefries. All ok. The fries I liked very much, also the toast was excellent with a good quality bread used. The coffee comes in large mugs and was a definitely good. The restaurant itself is very nice and the staff friendly. I felt comfortable. Prices were reasonable. I will give them 2 stars because I felt misled into thinking I was getting some pancakes made from scratch. I will try this place again BUT not for pancakes. read more

Excellent service from "Brad Pitt". Very cozy environment - needs a little more Mom & Pop kitch though. Don't eat for 2 days prior to going bc the portions are American-sized. 30 minute wait to be seated, 35 minutes for food to arrive. We order basic breakfast items. Pancakes were just average. Was hoping for more than simply apple pie filling and raisins tossed on top. I can make that? The food as OKAY but pricey. 4 adults, $92. Items got missed on our order, items arrived late as well. Sunset Grill is a much better bet and value. Faster service, and better prices. The Pancake Factory has come...a long way since it's heyday in the 90's. With our imminent move to Georgetown, I spent months boasting about the delight that was the Pancake Factory. Hot, fluffy pancakes, smiling staff - that was the memory I had in mind. What we got was entirely different. It took 10 minutes to even be acknowledged despite making eye contact with about four or five different employees, and then another 10 minutes on a waiting list - but by God, I was going to have these pancakes. Sooo good and you must try this place if you love breakfast food! The location recently changed and it's quite a far from Mississauga but the drive is really scenic so that's hardly a con. The food is amazing and the new restaurant is a huge upgrade from their original cozy little spot. The service we receive is always above and beyond. Definitely pricier than most but depending on what you get- it can be well worth it. I recommend the Apple Cinnamon pancakes, the western sandwich and eggs benedict - my favourite!! read more

This place was off the charts good. Ignore the lower star reviews, that is not a good depiction of what is going on in this fine establishment. I had the Canadian Omelette and it was the size of a small baby. My wife had the strawberry supreme waffle, it was an explosion of strawberry goodness, the kinda waffle you would drool over ( I included a picture ). My brother got the Oreo pancakes, ya thats right, Oreo .... Pancakes.. These need no further explanation, mind blown, not sure how I never thought of this before! Anyway, this is the spot. Good first experience. Went for lunch with 3 adults. The bacon and eggs breakfast ($8) was good and cooked the way I ordered it . Home fries were super. Strawberry waffle ($11) was crisp and light but not enough strawberries (4 or 5 berries) and they used whip topping, not whip cream - a big mistake, in my opinion. Sandwich special ($8) was tasty with good bread choices. Service was excellent. Location is clean with a very nice atmosphere. If they scratch made more menu items it would be a total winner. read more

The Pancake Factory has been around for a while and I've been told is the best place around to get breakfast. Unfortunately I disagree, the outside of the building has nothing to it, its black and the door is heavy, the outside is not welcoming at all. Their are lots of seats but the times I've been here the seats are empty. Their aren't a lot of people working here their is a very sweet waiter who I think is the owner of the business and she is an excellent waitress very quiet but nice. Honestly it looks a bit run down and could use more colours. As for the food, I do find the pancakes a bit too dry, the sausages are juicy, their hot chocolate is great, their waffles are a bit too hard so you'll like them if you like crunchy waffles. They do have great options and toppings for their pancakes and waffles. They should add crepes to their menu since their aren't any places in town that serve crepes on their menu. read more

We took my mother in law here for a Birthday Brunch. The portion sizes were considerably large. I got the bacon and eggs. The bacon was thick and, as I requested it, perfectly crispy. The home fries were cooked through which is usually easier said than done for potatoes this size. My wife had one of the largest club sandwiches I have ever seen. She said that the meat was nice and moist and that there were plenty of lettuce, bacon and tomato to fill out the sandwich. My daughter had a burger and fries that would have been an acceptable adult portion. This is one place where I feel like there can be TOO much food. I neither like to waste food nor force my child to eat way too much food. My only complaint was that it was a little slow getting served upon our arrival. The service we did receive, however, was quite good. While we don't live in the area, we would visit again. read more

It was really not good. Eggs where over done, hollandaise sauce was a bit 'crusty' and the ham tasted off or really low quality (I think off). Owner of Norval Pancake Factory - Please step up your quality! There are so few options in Georgetown. You could make this a restaurant destination by simply using fresh ingredients and cooking from scratch - spend some time visiting brunch places in Leslieville to understand how much better your food should be. My first time there to get breakfast and had to wait for more than half an hour, while being served coffee the waitress just spilled all the coffee on top of my lap leaving my pants and clothes completely soaked! But thank god that the manager or owner was kind enough to offer a canned fruit bowl "on the house" ! My first one star review, but wow am I disappointed. We came here on a Saturday afternoon at around 11:50 A.M., expecting it to be busy and to wait a bit, which wasn't a huge deal for us. However, when we walked in, literally no one greeted us for 6 minutes. We stood there, wondering if this was normal or if maybe we should just seat ourselves, until finally a woman came up to us and literally handed us one of the table buzzers, without saying a word. At this point, someone in my party noticed there were empty tables at the back, so they asked how long the wait was for a table. She rolled her eyes and said she didn't know, that she was waiting for other people to clean the tables, and then walked off. We were considering leaving, but we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt - maybe it was just this one woman who was rude? But after waiting 20 minutes, AND the people who were in queue behind us got seated first, we had to leave. Literally no one would look us in the eye, and she would walk right by every time we tried asking a question. The Norval Pancake Factory is by far one of the best breakfast places in town. The restaurant serves a variety of different types of food and their service is fantastic. I have never heard of someone being there and not liking the food that comes to the table. Came here last year and it was really good. Unfortunately we were here about a week ago and did not have the same experience. Ordered a Florentine omelette which was quite large and yummy, and also got the caramel pancakes which was just OK. Its four pancakes however, the toppings only got me coverage on about 1 and a half of the pancakes. The Oreo pancakes that were ordered to a table next to me looked full of toppings but mine lacked much of anything. Last year when I got the chocolate chip pancakes and eggs it was delicious. Perhaps just the caramel option isn't a good choice. I still think the food here is really good but does not make up for the lack in service. It wasn't super busy but average consistent customers were coming in. Our order took a while to be taken and a bit too long to come out, we also didn't get asked if everything was OK when we got our meals. Many tables that were dirty when we arrived were still uncleaned when we left. Many other customers looked impatient and waiting a long time for bills to come out. Don't finish your first round of drinks because it will take a long time to get a refill (if you even get one). Prices are average, some below average which is good for the portions you get. Food is usually good but I probably won't be back. Also, parking is tough to find on the weekends, usually the lot is packed. read more
