September 22/2026: Breakfast with Lindsay…read more This was pretty good. The place wasn't busy as it was a weekday mid-morning. Very casual & laid back. I did't visit the bathroom but the place wasn't busy clean & well kept it appeared. The good news is that I had the eggs Benedict ($16.99). Two thick slices of peameal & two eggs. Tasty but not overly so. Also had a side of bacon $(5.99) that was undercooked (even though I specifically asked for extra crispy bacon) so I returned to the kitchen. It was team service so I didn't really get anyone's name. This was not bad at all. Upgrade the kitchens response & it could move to a 5-star breakfast restaurant.

Kid's menu was pretty standard, nothing extrodinary nor negative. The gordo's standard had great sunny side up eggs that somehow was able to fully cook all the white, but left the yolks just barely cooked. The sausage was good, but the bacon was huge, crispy, and had the best balance between crisp, with the chewy porky meat. What really surprised me was the hot beef. The beef was thick slices that were tender and huge portioned, and I loved how the bread was left under to soak up the juices from the beef....and to mop up the gravy. The veg which I expected to be just blanched and bland.....had a decent crunch, and really benfited from mixing from some HP sauce. Next time......pancakes with swirls.

Standards were set high from there on out as we loved Galaxie Diner. We loved the retro look and feel of the place, inside and out. Great, fun sign on the front. Indoors were 50's style tables and seating, very colorful and whimsical. The large murals and smaller art depicting stars and scenes from the 50's were fun and provided some good photo ops. Our server was so friendly and kind, amenable to a bit of conversation which was nice. They accommodated us to split a milkshake between two of us and anything else we asked for. The food was quite good, served hot and fresh. We wanted to visit again before our trip was done but time didn't allow us to. Prices were what you would expect. We would definitely recommend this establishment and will return when we visit Toronto again.

I got the breakfast sandwich and it came with a side of home Fries and hollandaise sauce. The sandwich was huge and packed with eggs, peameal bacon and cheese. Topped with a creamy hollandaise sauce, it was a lovely mix of flavours that blended really well together. The home fries were grilled. They were a little soft and seasoned very well. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and would like to come back to try something else.

4.5 rounding up. I…read moretreated myself to breakfast here after a morning lab appointment. Seating is choose your own, which I appreciate. I was then promptly greeted and given the current menu. I chose the 17.99 salmon eggs Benedict and 2.99 bottomless coffee. The server patiently explained and described the options for the included side (French fries, home fries, grilled potatoes, or cole slaw.) I would have liked a hash brown style option but this was not available. My server then asked how I like to take my coffee and returned with only cream as I asked. The sugar packets are already on the table with the assorted jam ones. There were no napkins apart from the one wrapped around the cutlery but luckily I was able to make do with the one provided. My server was attentive without being obtrusive. She and the cook handled almost everything in the restaurant, and one staff seemed to be designated for prepping and maintaining the cutlery station. There was a steady stream of customers and I was able to savour and enjoy my meal. The music volume was mid range, enough to mostly cover other conversations but not jarring. There doesn't appear to be any Wi-Fi for customers. No signs anywhere and the network needed a password which definitely was not made readily available. Overall I really enjoyed my treat. At over $27 with taxes and tip it's more than we pay for an extra large pizza with 3 pop, but it was certainly warranted. The fries were fresh and hot, crispy and fluffy. I appreciated the slice of melon to start. The spinach was fresh and not overcooked. The salmon or perhaps the poaching water seemed to give a very slight vinegary taste in there somewhere, but I was super pleased about the restrained use of salt on everything. I could enjoy the taste of the spinach, yolks, and fries without the usual greasy spoon, saline filter. It's like eating at a diner only much better! They do offer wraps, burgers, etc. I would definitely look forward to trying them next time I'm in the plaza. 2 high thumbs up!

This little diner in the front of a small plaza a couple of blocks away from the tournament was a great find! Thank you Yelp! Nothing fancy here. Not fancy but a perfect blend of French toast, Swiss cheese and ham. Absolutely loved it! Not much more to say really...
