I had the pleasure of having Dr. Tom Bascom and his great knowledge to have several surgeries back in 2004 at Sacred Heart Hospital. He has an amazing bed size manner as well. Horrible scheduling and no professional service. Was referred to the clinic 5 weeks prior to calling the clinic to schedule as I received a letter from my doctors office stating if I didnt schedule within a month, they would cancel my referral. The date of the letter was dated 2 weeks after Northwest received the referral. After talking to the scheduler, he said he was 2-3 weeks out on calling to schedule, which would have put me over my month of leniency from my clinic that referred me. Northwest's response was, " Can you call them and have them extend...." No, Ill find a new clinic considering you have horrible communication, and if I had not called, this referral would have lapsed. I choose to not work with unprofessional businesses, especially when it comes to my health and surgical practice. Happy I made the decision after coming on here to write a review and seeing everyone's reviews. Such a shocking enlightenment regarding a surgical pracitice, I assume they had their business in order. Clearly not. read more

If I could give a zero I would. Dr Vo wasn't 100% straight forward or honest with all that needed repaired. I found out AFTER surgery that he didn't tell me about two additional hernias that could of been repaired. I met with his PA Camille who never got me an answer as to why. I've left messages on my portal that haven't been answered in WEEKS. I called and talked to the office manager Gina who hung up on me. Talked to a second female office manager who never called back. I wouldn't send my dog here. Dr. Vo is ethically dishonest, the management is protecting him & as a patient I am being silenced and ignored. Worst place EVER for surgery'. read more

I had an appointment for a procedure on a Friday at 8;00 AM. Day before, on Thursday, my appointment time was changed twice, from 8;00 AM to 11:00, to Noon. I had done all the necessary in home procedures, numbing cream , and a combination of narcotics since I was told my procedure will be immediately after admittance, at 12;30 . I was seated in a 5X5 room waiting for the surgeon and to be taken to the surgical unit. Here comes the good part. After sitting in that 5x5 room until 1;15 my doctor came in and informed me that their machine had broken down and it will be another 45 minutes. By this time all the medication had worn off and that was the last time I saw anyone, a doctor, a nurse, a cleaning person. No one.. At 3;00 PM I walked outside and inform three ladies that w ere sitting at a station that I was leaving. Now, I am a disabled veteran, when you inform the medical personnel that you are leaving without authorization there is usually some concern or a conversation even panic as to the reason. There was none. As if this was a regularly occurring event. Now, looking back on it I am pretty sure it was. Even though, I called twice to get an answer my calls were never returned and I suspect they will not be. However, I consider myself lucky. If this was the scenario in the waiting room imagine what it would it have been like in the surgery room. My advice; either avoid this place if you value your life and limb, or bring some camping gear, for you don't know how long you'll be there. read more

Worst experience ever. Initial consult last month was ok appointment was made. Arrived early because I was told the ultrasound had to be done first. I was notified by text that my appointment was at 2:45. Sat in the waiting room until 4 went to ask what was going on, was then told my appointment with the doctor was not until 4:15 and they were running a bit late. Had I known my appointment with the doctor was not until 4:15 I would never had made the appointment. Drive time for me was and hour and 30 minutes one way, so basically I wasted over 4 hours yesterday. I had commitments elsewhere at 5PM so told them to shove it. Would never recommend this place to anyone. Both insurance carriers will notified of this poor performance read more

I read the other poor reviews and did not heed their messages. This business is all about profit and not their customers. After my initial consultation appointment I left 3 messages over a months time to get scheduled for surgery. They called me when they had a last minute opening the next day without any mention that I had been trying to get a call back. The day of my surgery they called and asked me to come in early. I arrived on time to find that they had moved me later in the surgeon's schedule and I had to wait over an hour. (Wish they had told me, I would have stayed home instead of waiting at the hospital.) After my surgery no one told me how it went. I again left 3 messages over a month to have my follow up appointment scheduled. They AGAIN called me and offered me an appointment the next day when they had a hole in their schedule to fill. I drove over to have a 3 minute conversation with my surgeon where I head about how my surgery went FOR THE FIRST TIME and no exam to check how the surgery site had healed. While I liked the surgeon and feel that the surgery itself went well- I would not recommend this place to anyone. They don't offer basic customer/patient care. Go somewhere else! read more

It's with a big sigh of relief that my wife and I leave this review. We don't leave reviews very often but felt that it was very appropriate in this situation. Our 22-year old son developed Pilonidal disease over the last couple of years and he was operated on in traditional fashion in December 2016. The residual effects of the surgery proved to be problematic like most are, and the wound from the surgery would not heal. This prompted our son and us to do research, which led us to the Bascom procedure and to Dr Bascom himself. From the very first contact by phone with Michele Jones (Dr. Bascom's Pilonidal Surgery Coordinator), to everything that followed, we couldn't have been any more satisfied. During the process of arranging the surgery, travel from out of state, lodging, etc., communication was as good as it gets, and the result of the surgery (May '17) was as represented... fantastic! The Bascom cleft lift is an amazing solution for a horrible condition that is made even worse by doctors who don't understand the problem. Dr Bascom gets it... with reassuring confidence and no ego. Dr Seidman Doesn't care about customer service or patient care along with having an horrible ethical practice. I had the same procedure for my right leg at another clinic (Minimal invasive) and had no issues and it looks great. I was refered to this office by my primary Dr for my left leg and it's been a horrible experienc. Its double the cost for a run around for over a year and a half, to be told that I need to have another procedure and pay the same full amount. He's reply was "procedures Cost" ya well not double for nothing. I explained I felt like his cash cow and he told me obviously the other Drs are where I should go. So after spending over $3,000 on something they said was insurance approved and then wasn't in the end they just sent me a big bill. Stay far Away from this place, it's all insurance max billings scammers. They just want us cash cows to keep coming back, stupid. Minimally Invasive is sooo much better and bill honest. read more

Awful. I've waited over 3 weeks to get a call to schedule a surgery. I've also called multiple times and left messages, still no call. I've been given the run around about how they are understaffed, the fax may not have gone through, and that my Dr had not sent the referral. I have the confirmation number for the fax and it's been sent at least 3 times. I would not recommend this place to anyone and I will be going elsewhere. read more

I would recommend Northwest Surgical Specialists to all who have to have the type of surgeries the surgeons preform. I truly believe that God sent me to Dr. Dehaas. I had a horrible experience with a surgery I had done at another local facility in 2010. I was told by the same facility (surgeon) that i did not have a surgical hernia, but instead, "Abdominal pain likely from nerve entrapment related to scar tissue that occurred as part of the prolonged wound healing by secondary intention post sigmoid resection." I was advised "request PCP to order physical therapy with stretching exercises to help release of the trapped nerves from scar tissue". This impression was made after I complained of having two hernia's, one on each side of surgical scar. The surgeon grabbed my stomach and told me they were "a roll of fat"! They did not do any tests to confirm that I did not have a hernia...just visual and the grabbing of my roll of fat! I lived with the hernia's for 8 years because I was too afraid to go back. I was denied a referral to surgeons out side of this organization and facility for reasons unknown to me. I had full coverage health insurance. I told my Dr. I would never go back to the facility and the surgeons that messed me up in the first place and finally was referred to Dr. DeHaas. Dr. DeHaas preformed my surgery on Oct. 5, 2018 and listened to all of my concerns at our first appointment. I immediately knew (felt in my heart) that he was going to correct the past mistakes of the other surgeons and facility. I had a very positive experience this time and I am healing fantastic and feel wonderful. It feels so great to know that soon I will be able to pick up my grandsons, go hiking, kayaking, etc. without the constant pain I have been living with. THANK YOU DR. DEHAAS FOR GIVING MY LIFE BACK!
