We had used Dr. Carpet many years ago, and since our house is WAY off the beaten path, it's hard to find someone to come out for service. I could tell right away they had their act together. The dispatcher asked great questions like "can we find your house on a nav system", and "do you have cell service at your house". (Yes, and no.) Most people don't think to ask those questions, which can cause a lot of headaches. Also they called to confirm the night before--very thoughtful because I had completely forgotten! The technicians (Mike and Dean) were right on time, wearing masks and gloves, as well as shoe coverings. They worked around my home-office meeting schedule so I didn't have to worry about noise during critical parts where I needed to be speaking to my coworkers. I couldn't believe the stuff they found in my air ducts! (Pictured below, NOT including the dead mouse.) They also showed me pictures of the insides of my ducts, including a few areas that need replacing (they don't do that kind of work, but it's great to know, I would have never thought about that). And finally they made some suggestions about replacing my air filters in a few weeks. I appreciated that they never once tried to upsell me on anything. The total charge was exactly as quoted. Overall my experience was professional, friendly and helpful, I would definitely use them again.

This contractor is currently not licensed insured or bonded. He cut into a load bearing steel header supporting a brick wall with no engineered plans or architect in an attempt to duct a hood-and then tried to make me pay extra for the labor to go around it. The header was visible during the bid and the hood was custom designed and built to his specs. I disputed charges and during the downtime he's held up my project and inspection he attempted to charge an illegal 35% compounded MONTHLY interest which came to an insane 11x the original amount in just 8 months. And the caveat is my project STILL is not finished. I tried to continue working with him in good faith. Elesio collected money from my general contractor recently for an entirely new bid he gave us for the same project to be completed- when we discovered he is not licensed insured or bonded anymore. Now he is refusing to give us the architectural plans or the fan we paid for.

After the second call I received a text message from them asking to make an appointment that way. That should have been my first red flag but I went ahead and scheduled the appointment anyway. Fast forward 2 weeks to the day of the appointment. Nick shows up only prepared to service the heat pump. When I informed him I had scheduled a duct cleaning as well he initially told me the duct cleaning wasn't on his work order then a few minutes later his story changed to our duct cleaning machine is broken. Because I wanted both done he said it would be better to reschedule so both could be done at the same time, which I agreed to. This was 3 pm on a friday so he said someone would get a hold of me early next week to reschedule which was fine with me. Sunday afternoon I received an automated text message from them indicating they had rescheduled the appointment for 8am on a random Wednesday. To be clear no one ever called me to reschedule the appointment they just scheduled it without talking to me to see if that day and time worked for me. As my wife and I both work nights it did not work for me. So since they seem to have a problem with communication and they like to waste their customers time I decided to return the favor and let them show up at 8 am on a random Wednesday and waste their time as well because the wife and I were staring at the inside of our eyelids and didn't answer the door. The return job was completed somewhat satisfactorily. When they returned to complete the job, the owner kept making statements about me updating the review to 5 stars in exchange for coming back and completing the original job. Read the 4 star review on here, as it was the same with that person as it was with us. Just like everyone elses negative reviews the Groupon is a bait and switch. They came to our house told us everything was very dirty and that everything will need to be brushed no vacuumd so our Groupon was worthless. $450 for a half done job(see pictures of AFTER the original work was done). We requested a detailed invoice of the service and when we didn't receive it I called to find out what the delay was. The person I spoke to just kept reiterating the same thing over and over. How dirty everything was and how they cleaned it and I was to prove to him where it was still dirty. Mind you he was looking at this very same review while on the phone. The last red flag that is they only take venmo AND it goes to a private individual under the name Marlene Gomez Perez. Please do not use this company.
