Can confirm the other negative reviews. We recently bought a home where this company was used to…read moreinstall cabinets in the kitchen. The previous owners made a big deal how they did a custom kitchen upgrade and used this company. Drawers, pantry type cupboards, pull out drawer cupboards, and the Lazy Susan type with the accordion door were all installed. Craftsmanship is terrible throughout. The widths are not correct in many places and their solution was to literally shove in pieces of brown ripped paper into cracks and crevices to make things balance out and to keep drawers in their tracks. Like others have noted the cupboards don't have backings in many places so all you see is the bare wall and glue and overspray. I have a feeling we will be having to replace all of this in 5 to 10 years if it even lasts that long.

I'd strongly recommend avoiding this company. The craftsmanship is awful, the installation was…read moreterrible, and dishonesty runs throughout. First, quality. The only thing custom quality about these cabinets is that they are made to size. Otherwise, the quality is lower than anything you'd get at a big box store or even a discount cabinet store. Some examples: - Base cabinets don't have backs, so any walls are exposed (not just where there is plumbing). The backs are just a strip of construction sheathing. - The hinges came covered in stain and polyurethane, crusty and brown, so they looked like they had been installed somewhere for 30 years (see photo). I was told that's just how it's done, which is absolute nonsense. - The inside of the cabinet boxes and all of the drawer glides were rough because they were covered in overspray while they were sitting in the shop. - Amcraft fakes frameless cabinets with a small face frame, but they don't have the skill or equipment to get the doors and drawers to have a consistent reveal. Even after adjustment, gaps that should be consistent vary from more than 1/4" to less than 1/16" - Internally, there are gaps where the parts of the boxes come together as they're out of square and poorly machined. Next, the installation. - A skilled installer hides screws under the hinges when attaching cabinets together. Not Amcraft. They just slap them in wherever and don't bother to conceal them at all. - They also struggled with a drill, putting repeated large dents in the sides that had to be filled (see photo) - Amcraft uses precut strips for toe kick trip. They weren't tall enough to cover the full height, leaving the plywood base exposed. The gaps cut for vents were so big that cover plates would not cover the holes. Perhaps most egregious, they installed toe kick trim with an overlap (see photo) - No nail holes were filed. - The only cuts the installers will make is cross cuts to the trim. If you have an older house where things aren't level...good luck. I had to install the crown myself so it didn't look comically bad. - Even after they were "done", I discovered later that the upper cabinets were attached with as little as a single screw. Other screw holes that were drilled never had a screw put it. A tall vertical end panel wasn't attached to anything at all. It could just be moved by hand. - On top of the bad craftsmanship, the lead installer had such a sour attitude that even the other contractors took notice and wondered what the problem was. Two separate times (once when he didn't know I was in the room and another time directly to me) the guy lobbed insults at me after I asked them to fix things like a clearly-visible bow in the side of an island (that they had created with unnecessary shims) and misaligned doors. Finally, the process and dishonesty. - It took over two months just to get a set of drawings. I found many problems that had to be pointed out multiple times to get corrected. Things as egregious as a run of cabinets extending into a shower, doors opening so you couldn't reach into the cabinet, etc. - After several rounds of revisions just to get something workable, production was scheduled. The week of the scheduled install, we were told there would be a two-week delay. When the cabinets showed up two weeks late, multiple cabinets were built wrong and would not fit. It took another three weeks to finally get almost everything fixed and installed, with each delay pushing back countertop templating too. What should have been a few weeks without a kitchen turned into months. If you want to minimize your time without a kitchen, this is not the company for you! - We were told after delivery that the new fronts for an existing bathroom would not be installed by Amcraft. Multiple people present agreed this was not told to us at the time of a walkthrough when they were added to the project, yet Amcraft claimed it was. - We eventually discovered that the opening for our wall oven was made for a recessed flush mount, despite us not having this adapter for the oven, and having never requested that. - Even after "completion" it was another couple of months before a few drawers were fixed because they wouldn't work under the prep sink. We had requested a different design, but they suggested their solution...which didn't work at all. Again we were told we asked for it that way, despite having emails clearly indicating otherwise. - The numerous issues noted above were raised multiple times to the GC and to the Amcraft salesperson. They'd send someone to take a look, but it always seemed like they were trying to do the bare minimum, and would never take responsibility for their work. - One day the owner showed up unannounced and looked at some of the issues. He said they he would send someone back to fix things. While some of it was done, eventually he lied and said we had okay'd it all, then threatened a lien. Choose someone else!

Justin worked with us to confirm the height of our bed and headboard, the dimensions for our nightstands, and the dimensions and specific design of our dresser. We're very happy with the result. Prices are fair for the quality of the work. We have been very happy with the craftsmanship. The custom nature of these orders means there is a wait time, but we were in no rush and were very happy with the products we got. I will highlight that we specifically asked about low VOC finishes and were assured that's what they use. When our bed arrived, it had no smell. Our dresser does have a very strong smell and it does transfer onto clothes still, even though we aired out of room for a day after it arrived, wiped it down, and it's been 4 weeks now. White glove delivery was also included and both times (it was two separate orders, months apart) the delivery people were professional and were careful about placing items where we wanted, and not damaging anything while entering our home / navigating stairs and tight corners.

I hired Makers Woodworks, based on a recommendation. Garrett & Justin worked closely with me on the chair design, wood selection, and other project details. They regularly updated me as the work progressed. The chair turned out beautifully. It not only looks great, but just as importantly, it feels great to sit in. The craftsmanship is outstanding, and their attention to detail is obvious. The project was completed on time, and for a very fair price. I couldn't be happier with the finished product, and with my overall experience. I would hire Makers Woodworks again for other projects, and recommend them to anyone looking for high quality, custom wood furniture from experienced craftsman who stand by their work.

Norman, Sharon, Wen, and Ian are exceptional--not just in their craftsmanship, but as people. They are some of the kindest and most genuine individuals we've had the pleasure of working with. They care deeply about what they do, and it shows in both the quality of their work and their reliability and responsiveness. The way they treat their clients is truly next level. They are consistently on time, dependable, and deliver beautiful results. Norman has an incredible eye for selections, and I really enjoyed learning from him about cabinetry craftsmanship. Since this was our first home remodel, we leaned on his advice often--and many of his suggestions ended up shaping our home in the best way. Throughout the entire process, they went above and beyond. Anytime we had a vision, we could call Norman and the team, and they would find a way to bring it to life. Norman would come out, take measurements, and make it happen. When I wanted a custom bookcase, they absolutely delivered. That level of dedication and follow-through is rare. Wen also played a huge role throughout our remodel. From answering every question to supporting us through the final stages, he was incredibly kind, patient, and present the entire time. The customer service we experienced was outstanding, and the quality of the materials, custom cabinetry, and installation exceeded our expectations. You won't regret working with this team. It's rare to find people who care this much about their craft and their clients. We're incredibly grateful to them for showing us what true excellence looks like.

We have been putting off writing a review because we wanted to share pictures after completing our backsplash. Neither of us write reviews very often, but this job was such a huge success so we needed to give them props. We are just going to list off what we liked... 1. Our kitchen is larger than a standard kitchen where all the other shops quoted needing 2 slabs to get the job done. Budget was the only shop that recommended using a Jumbo slab for our kitchen which saved us $$. 2. All we had to do is text Ian a picture of our kitchen layout to get a quote. We had a quote that same day. 3. Phone conversations were great! We had some questions about the edges and the free kitchen sink size (30" vs 32") they were including and they were responsive. 4. Easy process to get the ball rolling. All we had to do to get job going was put down 50% of the cost to have measurements done the following week, then they were out installing the countertops 2 weeks after that. 5. They showed up to install when they said they would. We were told installers would show up between 8-9am and they arrived at 8:15am and were done with our install about 4 hours later. 6. Cleanliness was exceptional - they even put cloth down to protect our flooring. 7. Our experience was so great and have been telling our friends about them if they ever need new countertops. 8. We are going to copy and paste this review into Google as well to get the word out. You don't find many businesses that are this good very often these days, especially when it comes to construction projects:) Alex & Christina S.

We ordered our custom sized slide out shelves for our whole kitchen. We have a huge island that everything gets shoved into and it's hard to reach to the back without getting onto the floor to find things. My husband is 6'5 so it's a challenge sometimes to reach to the back bottom shelves when something is needed. Well Aaron solves our problem for us, not only are the shelves sturdy holding up to 135lbs; they were shipped super fast and in our hands within 5 business days of ordering custom sizes! The shelves arrived in perfect condition.Very impressive! You can have him come to your house to measure and give you a quote or you can measure yourself and he will make magic happen! We have had our shelves done in our previous home and had an idea of what we wanted. Hubby took the measurements and emailed Aaron. We received our quote, paid him and our shelves arrived. We chose self installation but you can have Aaron install if your not comfortable doing it yourself. We love that Aaron is local and we were glad to support local business especially at this crazy time.
