My dog was inside the van, as we were getting ready to leave for the day. I had loaded him up and shut the door so I could get his water and lock up the house. Fortunately, we are parked in a relatively shaded spot and it is not too hot on the coast today. The driver (Darby, I think he said) called me back within a few minutes of being dispatched to let me know he was on his way. Less than 10 minutes later, he had pulled up and was working to get the pup out. Took him just a few short minutes to get the door unlocked. My pup was unfazed by the whole thing and I am a whole lot less panicked! Thank you so much Darby for saving the day!

I called Coast Towing at 6am on Sunday morning and in a couple of hours, they sent out a very competent guy who brought the right equipment and had the car out of the driveway and on their truck in a few minutes. They delivered it to the dealer the following day. It was very nice speaking to the local people at Coast who know the geography of the area and are here so they know the current weather. Coast understood the seriousness of my situation and responded appropriately unlike that other company who kept telling me they "couldn't find anyone to come here" and it would be "a few days." That other company clearly didn't know anything about Oregon because they kept referring to Portland (Im in Newport). Interesting reading the reviews on here - hey, towing is expensive.

Submitted their online appointment request and got a call within a couple hours assuring me they can do it and are certified ASE to do it. I think car repair companies get a lot of negative reviews on Yelp because, frankly, repairing cars is expensive and it's easy to feel crummy! I asked him why the price went up so much, he said he did not know who put those prices on the website, and he would make no money at those prices. A very poor answer for an obvious bait and switch operation. If you go to the other big tire shop chain in town, there is clear transparent pricing, showing the price for each step of the purchase, exactly what everything costs, nothing is hidden. The first time I went in to our Newport store, there was a gentleman (dark hair, glasses, late…read more40's-50's) who was behind the counter. I was there for a lift and tires for my Jeep. He was NOT friendly, barely helpful. I left with a disgusted feeling and was not going to get my lift and tires from them. A couple weeks later, I went back to check on a different lift. There was a super nice, helpful man this time...bald, younger, tall. He was so helpful that I ended up ordering the lift and tires. That afternoon, they called back with an installation appt. I took it in yesterday and who was there.....Mr. Personality. Agh. Again, NOT friendly, barely said anything. I did not have a good feeling about this. On my way out, I ran into one of the work man who was admiring my Jeep. I asked him to look after her for me. Six hours later, I called for an update. Mr. Personality answered the phone. Again...not friendly, not helpful, barely said two words. I told my husband...they have another 1 1/2 hours and we are going to see what's going on....and we did. I saw my Jeep up on the lift. Another workman came out and I asked him how the Jeep was doing. He was super sweet, friendly, helpful. I'm very glad it was him that checked me out. So, all because of the one person, I almost went elsewhere. I don't know if he just doesn't like dealing with women, but he'd better get used to it. I dropped several thousands of dollars there. I belong to an all women Jeep group. We are over 13,000 members and growing. That's a lot of lifts and tires to be missing out on. In the end, the work was done well. My Jeep looks great.
