Called AAA because my car wouldn't start and a technician from Bob's Auto Repair came to my rescue! He got my car started within 30 seconds (making me feel a little silly!), was very friendly, and took the time to explain what he thought was going on. Something was wrong with my starter, which I had never heard of, so he popped the hood to show me. Even though he did not know where the starter was in the make and model of my car he helped me look for it and explained what it did. I think car repair companies get a lot of negative reviews on Yelp because, frankly, repairing cars is expensive and it's easy to feel crummy! Don't let the less than perfect score on Yelp deter you, it seemed to me that the workers of Bob's Auto Repair are honest and considerate. read more

The word scamming, predatory, and unethical are three adjectives that describe this business perfectly. After forking out $500 for a non-consensual tow, I asked to see documentation that is legally supposed to kept on file by the towing company and produced upon request. Instead of offering it up compliantly, I was met with hostility, aggression, and threatening demeanor by the manager himself. You'll notice that most of their good reviews come from AAA customers. Everyone else says they overcharge and they are indeed a slimy, sleazy, predatory business. In fact, in my investigation of this company I found that they have more complaints than any other towing company by far in the Corvallis area. Furthermore, the police department quit using them because there are so many public complaints! I even heard of someone canceling his AAA just because they used Bob's towing. I will turn them away if they are ever sent to help me. read more

Don't support this scheming so called business. The most outrageous prices in town! They take advantage of someone in an accident. You don't see it unless you are paying out of pocket. They charge an astronomical amount to tow a mile down the road, and if you get in an accident on a Friday (like you have a choice), they will charge you FOUR days in storage before you can get it on Monday. This accident was NOT my fault, and they took full advantage of this accident. My bill came to $1,078.08, double what any other tow company would have charged me. They tried to also charge me over $100 to use my own equipment to get my car out of their lot. They never asked if I had insurance to allow me to drive my car out, simply assumed they needed to use their equipment to remove it from the lot (20 feet at $121??). read more

If your car is towed at night and you pick it up the next morning, they will charge you for keeping the vehicle for 2 days, even if the vehicle was in their lot for less then 12 hours. What is the charge you might ask per day? $100 $371 for the tow, $200 for a buddies vehicle being here for 12 hours. $571 dollars total extortion. read more

Dropped off my car here yesterday to get her repaired and walked into the office where I was basically was told "oh, okay" and was taken to the shop. Okay people, why have an office??? "I remember you!" the mechanic stated quite, uh, enthusiastically as he looked through in between his arms while working under one of the cars propped up 10 feet. "I remember you too!" I replied and thank goodness it was the same mechanic as before since we've discussed the plan for my car prior to. Feels weird not seeing my car in front of my apt when I bike to my work, it's like as if someone took it... but not. First off, I'm a AAA customer. We had a difficult situation (for the tow driver) today (2/17/20), and the fellow that came out went above and beyond the call of duty. Because of our situation, he had to spend way more time than the typical tow. That was our fault, not his! He was pleasant and entertaining. Called AAA for a tow due to a flat tire and should have been a simple routine tow, instead the tow truck driver set my keys down on their truck and forgot and show up with my car without the keys, which turnded out he ran over and if anyone has dealt with an audi you know the nightmare. My car will not start now and despite the driver being friendly and apologetic and it being an accident but $350 to replace. SO when I call to report it and get my key replaced the manager first refused to take responsibility gave me the run around for 3 weeks before finally agreeing to replace my key after threatening to file a claim and for lost wages. They order key from audi and send some flake to program the key who didnt show several times to scheduled appt and clearly had no idea what he was doing because car locked key in the ignition when the freaking battery is dead and he yanks the key out breaking the ignition. My car then sits for 3 months before they tow it to audi in wilsonville who said the steering wheel column had to be replaced because of the actions of the key being yanked out and no keys can be programmed and car started until then which will cost $3400 now. Bobs refused to pay or even tow my car back and told me they programmed the key and all they are liable for and would charge me 500 to go tow my car back from wilsonville 2 hrs away.. AAA I think finally fired them and I filed a claim and going after them for the damamges. read more

Do not have them pick up your vehicle without an exact quote. We were involved in an accident and they initially charged us $1200 for an hour's work. They were called by Puddle Jumper towing when Puddle Jumper could NOT tow our motorhome due to it's size. Without pressure from Puddle Jumper, they wouldn't have reduced our bill to $500. read more

Several years ago I was involved in an accident in the middle of the afternoon. I called to have a tow, and they came right away and I thought great. They took the car and I got a ride after my meeting, only to find out they took my vehicle back to their lot without my authorization or even asking. When I called and asked where my truck was, they said we don't head to portland after 3PM, my tow started at 2:30.... I had to call AAA twice, and talked to the manager of Bob's, finally they towed it up at 8PM after many phone calls and debating. I have had tows since in Corvallis, and I tell AAA I refuse to have Bob's. If you send them I will refuse it. AAA is very good, and calls a different company. read more

The fleet manager has made it clear, despite the environmental impact of their trucks needlessly idling all day, he does not care and will not ask his drivers to stop. Even though it wastes money and is not good for the vehicles either. If you care anything about the environment or the air you and your kids breathe, do not support Bob's. What a racket! My daughter had a fender bender in Corvallis at 10:30 pm on Wednesday, October 23rd. Corvallis police called Bob's Towing. My daughter requested her car be towed to our home in Roseburg. She was told it was going to Bob's yard 785 Cornell in Corvallis. State Farm would have paid for the tow to Roseburg. Evidently actually using their truck to tow isn't lucrative enough for Bob's. When we showed up Friday afternoon we we told we could not have our car until we paid for the initial tow, three full days of outside storage at $50 per day, and paid $65 for them to tow it to the street where we drove it onto our car trailer! 1. State Farm is trustworthy enough to pay for the tow 2. The day's sure are long in Corvallis if 1.5 hours equals a day 3. We could have driven out of the lot ourselves! 4. They didn't do what the CUSTOMER wanted. They chose to rip us off instead. read more

These guys have saved me with roadside assistance (Via AAA) TWICE, and I wouldn't have anybody else come and 'rescue' me! Both times the tow truck drivers have been friendly, compassionate, and polite. They've always gotten back to me rather quickly with the diagnostic results, and I have never felt pressured to purchase parts/services I didn't really need. Super friendly staff. My car wouldn't start on a sunday night so I called AAA. A tow truck driver from this company came out and handled everything. The driver was also very nice and answered all my questions. The driver told me he'd be happy to take my car to any shop I wanted but since the first impression with these guys was so great I said just take it to Bob's. I received a call early the next morning and they told me exactly what the problem was and how much it would cost to fix. After I gave them the green light they had everything done in about an hour and a half. When I arrived to pick up my car they were just finishing up a complete wash of the exterior. Bob's has never helped me in any situation. If you pay for their service, don't expect to get anything out of it. In my apartment complex, people often park in my spot for extended periods of time. This wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the fact that any where else I park in this area, I will get a ticket. I've called on a few cars already. Each car was there for over 2+ hours. On the front of my parking space, it says "violators tower at owner's expense and risk. Enforced 24 hours a day" for bobs towing. Each time I have called past 5, I've got several responses like "we don't dispatch drivers this late" which they could never give me a specific time. I've called and they said they were sending a truck at 3pm and got no driver or response, called back at 5 and they said they wouldn't send a driver to me because it was too late. Even just today, I called and got the response " we don't work on the weekends". This was never mentioned before and they have not once provided a single service for me. Also, several representatives on their phones have been extremely rude to me. Hanging up mid call, lying saying they would get me a superior's number before just hanging up on me and more. This is by far the worst towing company I have ever seen. If you want a bad day, go ahead and call bobs because so far all they've done is rip off the people that pay for their unheard of "services". read more

My truck got stuck in a bit of snow and I called another company for a tow. With all the snow we'd been getting I knew it might be awhile. This other company was pretty rude and said it would probably be a couple of hours. I said that was all right. I waited 3.5 hours and finally called to check on the status. They said it would be the next day. Again, rude about it, not at all apologetic. I know they're busy, but they're getting paid for this, so. I called Bob's next. The woman who answered was so much nicer and said probably a couple of hours. I said that's fine and asked if they could just let me know if it wound up being tomorrow. She said it would definitely be tonight. They were there 30 minutes later and got me out very quickly. read more

It's never fun having your car leave you stranded alongside the road. But if you get stranded on Highway 20, you better hope that Bob's Towing, out of Corvallis, shows up to assist you. I was blessed to have a young man, John, give reasonably priced towing into Corvallis. After leaving my car at the repair shop, I was at a loss as to what to do next. That's when John suggested I find a rental car. And just like that, he gave me a ride to the shop. Unfortunately, all the local rentals were closed. I was going to have to stay overnight. So, John didn't leave me stranded. Instead, he dropped me off at a nearby lodge. So, yah, this old lady thanks the Lord for all the help this young man showed to me. Used through AAA to try to jump our battery and then get a tow to our mechanic and a ride home. Jason was prompt, helpful, and courteous.

We made the mistake of bringing my Sons car here for service. My son told the service department the issue he was having with the idle. We wew told that they would diagnose the problem and get back to us. After over a week with no call back we contacted them. They said that they fixed the idle but needed to take out his alarm system and do further diagnostics to make sure the problem would not return. They began to removed his alarm system and went no further. They never did call us back like they said they would. We called them after over a week and they said the transmission is bad and that we will need to get that fixed before they will do any further diagnostics. The transmission is not bad. I let them know that we will not be having them do the transmission and we want to come pick up the car. They charged my son $250 the full amount my son had told them he had. They made the idle problem so much worse than ot ever was. Now the car dies every time my lets his foot off the gas. The alarm system was not put back in properly and they broke the hood pin and now the hood will not shut all the way. When my son asked them about that they admitted the broke it but told my teenage son that he would need to fix it. When I called to speak with them they admitted that the idle probably wasn't fixed properly but they would not do anything about it unless I let them replace the transmission. I do not recommend the repair side of this business. I am considering taking legal action. It it predatory to take advantage of young hard working teenagers and what kind of business damages what they are being paid to fix only to charge you and then refuse to fix the damage they have done?! read more

0 stars if possible. The most recent issue with them involved AAA service. I requested battery service from them, which means replacing a battery. AAA actually called Bob's Towing for me to ensure they had the correct one. When the tech arrived he said he could not sell me a battery because they don't have this one "for AAA". The implication was that they had the correct battery at the shop but it was not available under the AAA program. I would call "bait and switch" except he never tried to upsell the battery, just drove off. So despite AAA verifying they could help me, they chose not to. I have lodged a complaint with AAA and believe Bob's Towing should lose their accreditation. Not just for this case, but given the general lack of quality of this place. They also suck as a repair shop. I took my wife's Jeep there several years ago, and when they gave us the car back it was totally unsafe. Felt like the wheels were going to fall off. When I limped back to the shop even the tech said, "This thing should never have left the shop like this." DO NOT USE THEM. I will likely cancel AAA since they're the only provider around here. read more

I might have given this company one more star if they had responded in any way to the detailed and respectful letter I wrote a few days after my very negative experience with their service, but they didn't, so that tells me that they don't care at all that they left a customer in a scary and dangerous situation for several hours because of a series of apparent miscommunications and lack of attention. On Sunday, August 4, 2013, I was driving back from the coast with my dog in the back seat of my truck, and had come through Corvallis, and had been on I-5 for just a few miles when I had a blowout. I steered safely to the shoulder; this was 8:55pm, and the sun was close to setting. I have a good spare tire, and I've changed plenty of tires before, so I began to set up the jack, etc., while trying to keep my dog calm inside the truck; she was freaked out by our close proximity to traffic and huge semis roaring by; the blow tire was on the left rear, so in order to change it I would be just three feet or so from the road. Well, the truck was parked on a pretty sloped surface, so I was a little worried about jacking up the uphill end of the truck, plus due to having been rear-ended a few times at stoplights by the ever-alert drivers of Eugene/Springfield, my rear bumper was slightly pushed up (I hadnt noticed it before), so I couldn't get the tool through the hole to lower the tire. It sounds lame, but after trying for awhile, trying to keep the dog calm while being a bit freaked myself by the traffic roaring by just a few feet away, and the darkening sky coupled with my not-quite-bright-enough flashlight, I finally decided to call a tow company to fix the tire and just pay for it (my insurance does reimburse up to a certain amount for such roadside assistance). I found Bob's Auto and Towing after consulting 411 for towing companies in Corvallis, the nearest town, so I called and the night dispatcher (it was 9:41pm when I called and fully dark) was very polite and said he'd send a driver to me as soon as possible. After 20-25 minutes, I called back to check and see if a driver was on his way. The dispatcher told me that the driver was finishing up another call, but he knew about me and would be on his way to me next, so I thanked him and waited. An hour after my initial call, I received a call from a driver (Phil, I think), who told me that he had just finished up a call and was leaving Corvallis and would be to me in about 30 minutes. I told him it had been an hour since I'd called, and now it'd be 30 minutes more? I explained to him that I was sitting next to a very busy freeway and had been there nearly two hours already, and I had a stressed-out dog in the truck with me. He apologized for the delay, and when I told him which milepost I was at (225, as the friendly state trooper who'd stopped by to check on me during my long wait had told me), he said that was closer than he had thought, so he might make it to me sooner than 30 minutes. I said I hoped so, thanked him and waited. About 40 minutes later, I was in the process of calling the night dispatcher back when another call came through from another driver from Bob's, Kevin, who told me HE was just finishing up a call and was on his way to me. "Wait, wait, wait, " I interrupted him, and told him that the other driver had called 40 minutes before and said he had just been on his way to me and would be 30 minutes, and that he had called an hour after my initial call to Bob's. Kevin apologized for the confusion, and said he had just been dispatched to my location. So I told him to just get there--thinking he would have been told the right milepost by the other driver or the dispatcher--and hung up. I was frustrated, stressed and angry by this point, and it was now 11:20pm, so I had been on the shoulder of I-5 for 2 hours and 25 minutes, so I called the first driver back and asked what was going on. He blithely told me that he had been re-dispatched on another call and was traveling to Portland with a passenger. I angrily asked why he or the dispatcher hadn't let me know and reiterated how long I had been sitting on the shoulder in a dangerous situation. "Well, I apogize..." blah blah blah. Then I called the night dispatcher (the same guy, Joe or John, very nice and polite but evidently powerless), and sort of yelled at him about it, and according to him he hadn't been told the first driver had been re-dispatched. Eventually he found out that a supervisor had overriden the night dispatcher's instructions to come help me, and sent him up to Portland, and no one thought to tell me or the night dispatcher. The driver Kevin finally arrived at 12:25am,he was a wonderful guy, and I finally got back on the road at almost 1am. All nice people, no accountability. read more

Great guys. They did a smashup job taking care of us when our motorhome broke down on I-5 Sunday afternoon, July 3rd. Daniel and Nick got our motor home and trailer towed in. Daniel had offered their company as a possible repair destination and said that their mechanic would start on Tuesday July 5th, when the shop opened back up, first thing. He also offed to hook us up with power and water so we could stay in our motor home. When we got to their location, the whole team jumped in and hooked us up. When Leslie came in Tuesday, he jumped right into the repair as promised and had us back on the road the next day as soon as parts came in. Well Done! read more

To start with, be careful of their consent when they tow you. They add in a $110 "Diagnostic Fee" to just look at your car and they have you initial it when you are towed. They charged me 3 hours of labor @ $85/hr to fix the slave and master cylinder for my clutch. Even an amateur mechanic could have done it in half the time. When I called to ask about the charges I didn't get anywhere with the mechanic so then talk to the "owner" Steve. He said that I was a "Pain in the a.." because I was questioning the bill. In short, I would avoid this place because they are not totally upfront with their charges and have horrible customer service. read more
