We visited in December and were presently surprised by the fun atmosphere and the variety of vendors selling locally made goods. We had some sandwiches at Nomz that were delicious and would be improved only by the addition of some chips or other small side. The vendor spaces are setup kind of like an art gallery and we enjoyed slowly browsing the varied wares and picking out a few gift items. The center area also has a bar serving various liquid refreshments.

Lovely shops. Bought a bunch of unique gifts. Nice place to stop and get Akron or Ohio made products. Found this through a virtual event. My daughter bought me a starter box a few weeks ago. Keep up the unique plant ifferings. Hope to be back in spring!!

This is a haven for Akron local artisans and makers, and I fell in love while visiting a few weeks ago. Located in the heart of Akron, surrounded by other local shops, restaurants, and nightlife, Northside Marketplace offers quirky finds, one-of-a-kind goods, and delicious food and drink options. It's not a large space but it surely packs in a lot to look at and browse through. It's also my understanding that what you may find here one day, could be very different the next. It's sort of a hub for startups in the Akron community. My favorites were a local soap goods company near the entrance. I snagged up some air fresheners for my car and loved smelling their bath bombs, bath salts, and other self-care items. There was also a really cute boutique with great clothes, jewelry, mugs, and knick knacks. I ended up buying a pair of rose gold mood earrings and I love them!! The last item I grabbed before cutting myself off was a beautifully made glass tree ornament. I collect owl stuff and my Christmas tree is full of them. Lucky for me there was a glass owl ornament and I couldn't leave without it. Everything here is priced pretty reasonably for being local and oftentimes handmade. This is truly a cool marketplace and if I lived in the neighborhood I would definitely enjoy stopping in from time to time to check out the varying makers and get gifts for friends.

Love it here! It's a great way to buy different types of gifts and shop local at the same time. There are also a couple of places inside to partake in unique beverage and food items. It's always fun here too--good vibes! On my most recent trip here, which was yesterday, I went to purchase some last minute stocking stuffers and pick up a cookie order. Because there is such a variety of handmade items one can purchase, it was easy to find unique gifts and stocking stuffers. There are all kinds of surprises to see here. Take your time walking through the place. It's worth it!

You enter by the sign and the shops/eateries are inside.

The Northside Matketplace is a collection of small stores, restaurants, coffee shops, and bars just outside of downtown Akron on the north side. You enter by the pictured sign and the shops are inside. There is ample free parking and the center of downtown Akron is just a two minute walk. The pictured food is an open faced meatball sandwich from Lugi's, possibly the best Italian restaurant in America. Lugis is a cash only restaurant with an ATM inside.

Quite the spot, I love that it is modeled after a community setup. I like that there is a trust system for check out. Someone within a shout around to answer questions but not overbearing. Really cool was the QR codes for Yelpers to go around and see what offers were available. If I lived here I would certainly come to hang out. There was some really great stuff and I purchased a few things.

THINK GLOBALLY. SHOP LOCALLY. This is a cute little indoor mall of local designers and artisans. It is so aesthetically pleasing to look around and you can definitely tell that this place is kept well and clean. The design of this mall is perfect. You can find so much here from cookies, soaps, clothes for men and women, jewellery, honey, etc. I personally like the Akron Honey Company for delicious and fresh honey. Parking outside can get tight but if you keep driving further down past Luigi's pizza, you will find another parking lot at the back. I recommend this mall for shopping everything local. **** This is my 134th Yelp review overall. 88 reviews for 2018. I am aiming for 100 reviews in 2018. Reviewed on 22 October 2018.

This is a really cute place with a ton of shops. My cousins took us here so we could explore downtown Akron. There was a cute jewelry shop with beaded jewelry. My husband even picked me up something as a surprise while were there and it's so cute. I saw soaps, plants, and a lot of different clothing. The whole setup is cute because there are so many stores and markets. After shopping around and taking pics, we bought candy (a Goo Goo for me), and icecream. A fun way to spend a few hours!

Great newer place for local artists and entrepreneurs to share their talents with the community. Stop by to grab a drink, get some honey from the Akron Honey Company, or pick up some new threads from Rubber City Clothing. Size matters, shop local!

I had no idea this place was so cool! As other reviewers have said, it's an open-space marketplace, with lots of little local shops living the perimeter. At first I was surprised that there were hardly any employees manning the shops, but signs posted around the area explained that you pick up whatever you want and pay for everything at one checkout counter in the exit area. I loved seeing such a variety of local businesses represented, and even more shops opening soon (including a coffee roaster). We ordered Thai rolled ice cream from the Akron Creamery. We sampled local honey, picked up some candy for trick-or-treat, snapped a selfie in front of the live Akron wall, and leisurely walked and window-shopped. We even played a game of tick tack toe in the central common space while watching the news on the big screen. This would be the perfect place for a group date, especially during the winter months!

Such a fun stop! They have a bar with beer and wine and you can shop local vendors, eat and play games while you drink! They allow dogs on patio and sometimes inside, yah! Staff is all very friendly and overall it's a great local joint.

A unique small local business shopping experience that is sure to delight any shopper, family or group. It's the one place in Akron where coffee lovers like myself can meet to socialize with friends and family who enjoy adult beverages and enjoy a televised sporting event on probably the biggest digital screen in Akron!!! This place is awesome!! The concept of anchor stores drawing in customers who will then view the products and services of local start-up businesses is brilliant and a true example of loving your neighbors. The Northside Marketplace is an excellent place to meet with friends, relax, watch a game, and support local start-up businesses who offer a range of food and products that anyone will find appealing.

If you want to support local the West Side Market is the perfect stop, it doesn't matter the day of week, unless you are looking for the cafe to be open. I love being able to get my produce along with fresh seafood at Kate's and pasta from Ohio City, full meal planning in one stop, especially when you can grab a fresh bouquet that finishes your table setting. Parking is even easier with one hour free and scan and pay if you are going to shop at a leisurely pace.

Starting off with parking, there was some construction going on and I missed the first entry, there was nowhere to turn for the parking lot address I had on 25th St (turn on 23rd)! We ended up doing street parking but there's 90 min of free parking if you make it into the lot. Moving onto the main attraction: food! Most of the food is real market food for folks cooking at home. Think sausages, fish, various other meats, and pastas. There was a great deal on fresh made pasta near the front for $2.50 a bundle, but I was on the hunt for ready-to-eat lunch and those didn't quite hit the mark! I also saw a lot of baked goods (apple fritters, macarons, breads), fried foods (empanadas, hand pies, etc.), and sauces/dips. When it came to food options I actively considered, I narrowed it down to spring rolls, crepes, and gyros, but ultimately the gyros were priced really high ($16!) and we ended up dining at the West Side Cafe (which was great, I'll review that separately). Long story short: fun market to shop around if you feel like cooking a nice meal, not so fun for a lunch while you're out. Also I'm learning that there was seating upstairs, this was hard to spot while inside!

There are tons of food options including pizza, pasta, poutine, sandwiches, salads, and a huge variety of desserts. It's definitely one of those places where everyone can find something they like which makes it great for groups. I decided to try the chicken shawarma poutine, and even though it sounded a little different at first, it ended up being absolutely delicious. The fries were crispy, the chicken was flavorful, and the toppings all came together perfectly. I noticed a lot of other unique dishes at different stalls too which makes me want to go back and try more. The prices were very reasonable as well especially for the quality and portion sizes. What really stood out, though, was the atmosphere. There was live music playing, which gave the whole place such a lively and fun vibe. You can even order a beer and just walk around or head outside to enjoy it in the fresh air. Between the food variety, affordable prices, and the relaxed but energetic setting, I think this spot is perfect for a casual meal or even a night out with friends. I'll definitely be going back!
